if a warmhearted TL fellow feels like helping a huge CS nerd, i'd be so fkin glad about an invite



i'm spending everyday on the steam CS:GO forum, helping people, trying to develope the game, but it's hard without being in the beta myself!

The dust was really bad before, the tracers are just kind of annoying.

My bigger concern with tracers is a situation like on train when you have no idea where you're being shot from. Tracers radically change that.

My concern is that tracers don't seem to belong in CS, it's not really a military combat game, it's more specialized police forces vs paramilitary terrorist groups. But you're right, the change, good or bad, is quite different from original.

One thing I don't like about this game is that when I flashbang my teammates they don't seem to be affected by it. This makes teamkilling them a bit harder as they can see me but I cannot see them, thus they are able to retaliate. I really hope this gets fixed at some point.

If this is true that puts a serious question in my head. That doesn't seem to make sense that I could throw a flash around a corner to blind the enemy and my teammate could follow it in and never be blinded. Is it just a spawn protection thing or something?

I know you can do it, but why would you do so in a game with no respawns and equipment loss upon death?

Haven't read much about office since it got implemented, although not a competitive map, it was one of my favourites when messing around on pub servers. Anyone got anything to say about it?
oh and the new guns too.. they altered anything much? I realise 3 of them are shotguns and one a LMG.. but still.
Still waiting and hoping valve decide to give me a beta key so I can look myself, otherwise I'm confined to streams and Youtube.

I don't like the changes they did to office. There's window columns or w/e you want to call it, basically splitting the original window entrances into two / three entrances. The chairs, tables, and computers are immune to gunfire so shit gets in the way. A tree obstructs the view of the awper at main hall, there's also a plant pot that gives CT cover at the main hall window. There's no doors or cabinets to hide behind anymore.

Long story short, is it good enough to replace 1.6? What i mean is there a similar frustration you get as 1.6 veteran playing Source, or its kinda mitigated? Source engine was unberable for me, seemed like a joke compared to half-life 1 engine in terms of accuracy/movement/fluidity.

Probably or probably not. Like I've said earlier, the Source engine is modular and I've seen people mimic elements of the Warcraft 3 engine and elements of the GoldSRC engine, albeit with minor differences, so it's not entirely impossible to get the feel of CS 1.6 in GO. I think on whether GO will replace 1.6 or not almost entirely relies on the dev team makes proper adjustments to the game. Game is far from release (at least I hope so) so maybe we'll see a completely different game by the time open beta rolls around.

Long term, I don't see how the game can fail with a good matchmaking system honestly. They add so much value.
