This will be the absolute last post from me about that issue in this thread, so if you are actually interested we can take this to PM. My comedic intended remark is a jab at everyone involved, me, you, Artesimo. Artesimo and you both made yourself fools with your exchange but don't even think for a second that you didn’t came out of it as the bigger fool nor that my comment is meant to agree with you in any way besides the fact that I don't need to be defended. When it comes to maps my problem always lies in the fact that it takes a lot of time to figure them out properly aka they have to be played in tournaments a lot, even though MM is a good start. New maps however tend to get vetoed by every team that can afford it, and even in matchmaking the conversion is pretty slow. I would actually like having a similar approach to starcraft even in MM where we got a mappool for each season, if you soloqueue you can veto a number of maps, otherwise you can only veto with a full stack. Have a rotating mappool so people are forced to play new / different maps. I have to admit though that I don’t have any experience with lower ranks MM anymore and am a bit of an elitist, so my gut reaction to noobunfriendly approaches is always “git gud”. But I understand that the lower skill levels make up the more important because bigger part of the community and therefore I am really interested how this resonates with them. Like do you already just queue up a huge number of maps, or are you usually playing a selection of few maps as well? How would you feel about being forced to learn new maps on a more regular basis? I definitely agree with porkRavens notion of desiring maps that feel different. For example I really like how middle on Overpass plays out, even though I still don’t really have found a way where I feel comfortable holding it, especially when long A gets pushed back. I haven’t played Santorini outside of missions though. I liked the map in terms of visuality ( a point where I approve of a rework on pretty much every old map when it comes to removing the stupid fog in the distance or shit like the lamp in death tunnels on dust2 only being visible at zoom2 ), but I can’t really say anything about the gameplay. It seemed a bit of chaotic / uncontrollable from the layout alone as soon as mid falls but I can’t really say more than that.

Hence my lack of contribution other than simply relaying my experience. So forgive me for not feeling like a fool. Regarding the exchange itself, I guess Im just not one to lie down or ignore provocation.. upto a point anyway. I didnt even read his last comment. Enjoy feeling like you "proved" something and thinking the one who called that nerd range induced bit of drudge report fantasy out was "foolish." I may have made a slight here or there but I never directly implied to you that your competence was lacking, obviously you couldnt extend me the same courtesy. So I am disappointed. Prefacing comments with I dont mean to be rude and being an asshole has a limit you know. Just because we let it slide doesnt mean your a good person online, or offline whatever that means.. But feel free to think that way. I am done addressing this aswell. Its ok you dont have to PM me or respond. I wont read it. Im happy thinking I had the last word. Santorini is particularly neat compared to the current map pool. Lots of routes into sites and they're usually mixed with some good risk/reward. B tunnels has two hallways one being in line of site from site & the other out of view so you have a good amount of options there. Lots of micro situations that provide opportunities for both teams. Open sky boxes too. The mid is interesting because you can drop down into B (needs a boost to get up), hit a nice strafe jump into window or get boosted for the CT connectors, or just walk straight into A. It's one of those maps that I don't think the CT can safely cover all their options but if you have good rotates & everything else it would be fine. Also all the games I've played on it are fast so far. By far the most "csgo" map I've played. Although that is just a gut feeling. It seems pretty polished too. ![]() Thats actually the first time Ive seen an overview.. Its obviously impossible to visualize the micro situations you are talking about, but i might give it a go the next time I play.

EDIT: Also how about a pidgeon boost. That really cracked me up on the first introduction of the remade train

![]() Though I am unsure about the visibility. The contrast got a lot better, but the increase in details makes the screen also fell much more cluttered. I would have to play it a bit to see if its the amount of details or just the unfamiliar look. They kept the general layout which is nice. Too bad my stack doesn’t play dust2 ![]()

Don't think I've played the old one more than two or three time in the year before it was removed.
