The screenshots looked really good. I'm hyped for the final reveal.

I highly doubt we will get to 2.0.0 (that's Act 4 right?) before the current leagues end. It would surprise me if they didn't launch it at the start of the next 4(3?) month leagues.
I expect lots of information on 2.0.0 coming, though.
|
well yeah but the 1-month leagues end in 2 weeks right one would guess that the upcoming challenge leagues will begin within a week of that since the 2.0 reveal is today. You can't reveal too much more than 3 weeks in advance because you haven't finalized enough lol.
|
Well, let's see what it is. People have often been disappointed with announcements of GGG. I think it will be info on 2.0.0, info on release date and maybe info on the next leagues (though that info might come later).
|
|
Doubt any items will be touched. There are new leagues for that.
Closed beta on April 20th, that means there's still a long while till 2.0.0. Not sure if I sign up for the beta. I don't think you will need to be in the beta to take part in the next leagues, so I hope the beta will be short. Though I doubt it will be short, so maybe the leagues will be delayed to as far as June?
edit: As for items gained in the beta, I would think they transfer over to standard or all end up voided (I think the later).

lol closed beta, looks like another few more months to official release...ggg was right when saying this expansion would only come out later this year
those passive jewels, those uniques :o
|
on April 20th, a new closed beta period will start, lasting between 6 to 8 weeks. This will allow players to access all the new content while still allowing for the inevitable balance tweaks that will be required. Softcore and Hardcore players alike will have new leagues to enjoy in the closed beta, with new challenge leagues coming at the end of the beta period once The Awakening is fully released. sounds like everything from the beta will be wiped at the end to allow them to go ham on balance changes without creating legacy items.

Man, you can pretty much throw every pre 2.0 skill tree out the window - I love it.
|
Meh, I'm not really happy about this but I can see why a beta is needed. I hoped the next 3-4 month leagues would start in early May, but it's OK I guess.
Lots of the changes look very promising for sure. Especially the jewels, I love how much character customization is possible in PoE and it's just getting more. <3!

Given the socketed tree, I can 100% see a beta being necessary. Poor skill tree planner makers, though, they're pretty boned. I really hope GGG distributes the beta keys in a way that doesn't make every stream into a lottery though.
(also no keys for Kripp plz)

(also no keys for Kripp plz) Say what you want about Kripp, but having him play the beta would be some incredibly potent marketing, if he's interested in playing they should definitely give him one. Also: Offering dota 2 solo mmr boost for key incase I don't get one myself!

Yeah, Kripp should get one if he wants one. He always was supportive for PoE and played it until he found out that he can make a living by just streaming Hearthstone. Anyone who blames him for not playing PoE anymore is crazy. He earns too much on Hearthstone to stop playing it.

man that passive gem that lets u allocate stuff in it's radius without connecting, I can think of a fair few things hiding behind keystones that would be hella legit to get wihout getting the keystone proper (phase acro, mortal conviction, whatever's behind CI) mmmmmm
the gamepedia review seemed to be the most in depth so far. It promised a rebalancing of mods on rares to improve them vs uniques (hype) and netcode improvements (double hype)

ggg will just modify those part of tree so that those nodes are just out of reach :^)

i think since we have registered through our accounts, there is no beta key per se and we simply log in to the beta client with our account if chosen

One key is fine. 2,000 for doing lotteries on stream is not.

I think Gamepedia said they're doing a giveaway, which is pretty hard without some form of transferable key (maybe direct line to GGG validating the winners?).

Ok I'm pretty hype for this. It's a brand new game basically.
