I don't entirely agree with this. It is as if alt-f4/logout macros are encouraged by GGG, and is an integral part of game balancing. It is one thing to die because you are taking risks, or because you failed to dodge/run away from this obvious ground effect. Eating a hit/getting to a dangerous situation and getting away via alt-f4 just feel too meta? Might as well as make f4 an official logout key so everyone plays on the same playing field. The same can be said to /oos. It's one of those often used things which makes me wonder why the game doesnt just have the option to bind it somewhere...

I honestly, don't really enjoy the entire beyond concept. They're mostly just an annoyance, hinderance to my 'gotta go fast' play style.

That design philosophy is where all that spiky damage comes from in the first place. Personally I don't really like the general idea but I can live with it and enjoy the game nevertheless. My main guess is that designing things to be mechanically interesting and still challenging is incredibly hard in a game like PoE (boss fights like Vaal/Dominus or now even Merveil are like that imo). Those fights have a certain Dark Souls vibe to them (if you don't understand them or fuck up, you'll get crushed - if you understand them well you'll crush them) while some other things (coughcough prenerf-Invasion) have more like a Kaizo Mario vibe. The latter is totally fine if it's in a Softcore League but doesn't really belong into a HC environment imo.

I think softcore is just entirely boring... You don't have to care about anything and a lot o the enjoyment of the game comes from "do you think we can do it?" whereas in sc u just yolo that shit who cares max dmg whatever. no your league sux

Also: Sure that going the Phys dmg+WED route in the templar tree is superior to the str route when going PotCG? Each str node is like 18% phys dmg.

By this point, you either learn to live with it and enjoy the game anyways or you don't. It's a decision you have to make.

Because there's another way of farming if you have the patience, and that is alc-ing rings /amulet /belt and hope that in the hundreds of them, a few might be worth exalts, and some will worth a few chaos in addition. Choosing high implicit base means you don't need blessed orbs in addition to make those 3-5c rings look decent. Drawback is ofc that you need spare chaos in the first place, and patience to sell those ok-ish ones, since the big ticket alc may never comes at all.

I have around 66 15 67 8 68 6 69 6 70 3 71 1 At how many maps should I move up to a new tier? This one is tough due to the extremely random map RNG. The easiest way to have a good pool is willing invest to buy a big pool of a certain tier (73, 74, 75, 76 which ever you like), then roll from there. If you really don't want to buy map then ofc normal progression is fine, often you can move up if you have 8-12 map of that tier. Though if you're lucky, it will be a smooth and quick slope up. If you're unlucky, like 80% of ppl out there, you will seem to stuck in the low 70s forever Ofc nothing stays forever, but it would take very long. I would consider myself lucky last league in map luck and still took 1 lvl 82, 1 lvl 84, 1 lvl 91 to reach that mythical 77-78 pool w/o buying map at all. Don't think you have that many maps to move up tbh. Hypothetically speaking a dried-streak which is not so unlikely will wipe the 69 tier since there are only 6.

Option 1: Run your highest maps, hope for the best, and use Zana dailies to supplement your map pool, its not too hard to get her to lvl 6 and start getting 71-74 drops from the dailies. Start alching around 71 to get higher quantity. Option 2: Buy ~10 76 maps for an ex or so. That should be more than enough to keep you stable in the 74-76 range.
