I'm building an SRS Summoner Scion (say that 5 times fast) with IR/MoM/EB for Beyond. It's meant to be tanky enough to not get one shot, but enough damage to waste bosses with Vaal Haste and Spell echo. SRS is extremely powerful, almost approaching OP-ness, and I've always wanted to build one. The Raging Spirits benefit from damage auras, and are pretty tanky. Here's the build I came up with

yeah, SWT would take too much effort to re-roll though. Maybe I'll look into switching into Flame totem.

Let's see if Alt F4 saved me, lol. Graveyard Merveil seems a little too tough for me.... I should be safe, had 1,5k hp but you never know. xD I hate those moments when u don't know if you made it.

Whew, luckily still alive. Dying now would've probably made me quit for a while. But she was crazily stupid. That Ice Storm got me from 4,2k to 1,5k in 2 seconds.

What, of course u can stack cold res and facetank her on normal, cruel and merciless act 1. It's even easier than before as she doesn't do her physical attacks anymore (or rarely). If you get 2 cold rings it's very easy on normal and with one you need some micro but it's still manageable.

Problem with racing might be that ppl go there without any rings or didn't get to buy one, but that shouldn't happen too often. If your RNG is that bad, then you can give up anyway. I think Brutus is gonna be more of a problem with crap equip, although I feel the desync for him got a lot better so it should be ok.

I didn't say you can't stack res in normal, lol. I was specifically talking about racing. And it's not unusual to just go to merveil with 1 cold ring. All my chars that did merveil normal since 1.2 had like 400-500 hp and 75 cold res and still took a considerable amount of dmg. I wasn't in danger ofc. But a race char is way more squishy. At merveil, most of the time you don't even have 200 hp and something like ~30 cold res on average. It adds that the second phase has huge amounts of AoE + all three kinds of ele attacks, not just cold. But we will see. That's why I said I'm curious. I didn't mean everything is set in stone.

Really? I'm pretty sure my HP were barely moving when doing her with max cold res at any difficulty... I can't think of any danger moment and I soloed her like 15 times by now because of ripping frequently on Beyond. :/

But yeah the 2nd phase could be a slight problem, though probably not so much for my Mara racing. So far I've always killed her really fast and the 2nd phase wasn't very long, and I expect that to be the same when racing as Mara. 2h Heavy Strike is sick dps with even semi good weapons.

Problem is that Merveil is as optimized of a fight as dom now, which I constantly have 4-5 fps while in the room. RIP vanilla race x_X

I like P1 merveil: it is easy once you learn her attack pattern.

P2 is where I feel RNG can play quite a factor: she likes to teleport around too, and often surround herself/players inside a dozen of cyclones, thus I felt the nerf (to p2) was justifiable.

Honestly at this point I am more worried about brutus than Merveil. In the past I used a rather safe strat of hugging pillars while using stormcall to wither him down, now I have to manually dodge his harpoon hook and pray I do not get oos'ed at any point...

One new extremely annoying desync situation has cropped up for me, which is that every single time you hit the rampage tier that stuns all enemies on screen, desync occurs such that all mobs on screen are shown in incorrect positions. Every. Time. You wouldn't notice this as an aoe build as much, but with dual strike its maddening as you have to actually be next to what you are trying to hit. Rampage is supposed to help you, not desync you. Rampage league.

For Shavronne u can get either Infernal Mantle or Shavronne, but it doesn't matter really. GGG said that and I believe it. The maker of Infernal Mantle got flamed heavily for that it has the same base type (which the maker didn't even want, but GGG still made it so). Keep in mind that chance orbs are basically a lottery, all you can do is influence the odds of your payout if you hit the jackpot.

Damn that looks painful lol. I think something similiar will happen to me at some point too. There's a lot of weird lagg in poe these days. And especially strongboxes, I remember when they were in leagues earlier, the screen freezes was barely noticeable, now I sometimes freeze for 2 seconds and almost died in a 74 map with 6k hp. I still get some blue screens occasionally, but the worst is when you don't bluescreen and your ATI driver just resets it self while you're somehow still ingame and can't do shit about it other than spamming alt f4 hoping it works out.

There's also some new error now that happens sometimes when I make new map, almost as if I just lose connection to poe even though I can still play. But if I try to join a map I just get disconnected back to the log in menu with the error "cannot join instance". Rip'd a couple of 78 to that recently. Ended up giving away a sea witch to a buddy since he could somehow join wehn I couldn't

Archeage looks decent though, considering trying it myself since there's still no race season in poe

Well I can live with a lot of things and my eyes rarly get watery about stuff like this but yesterday was a new pinnacle.
That Graphics driver crash, that your PC bluescreens, that your sound-driver crash, that PoE doesn't respond anymore, that the exe-itself had an error. All fine.
But yesterday my game just freezed on me while spotfiy, youtube, twitch, obs, windows, teamspeak etc was running fine.
I hit my logout(1-2secs passed) asap when i had the freeze and then hit ctrl+alt+del(3-4secs passed) and tried manually to end the process(4-5secs passed) and tranisitioned into turning the PC off complety, this all took about 6-7 seconds.

what, if anything brutus is WAY more easier to do then before. his attacks seem to be weaker overall, his deathslam (weakslam now) has much less oomph and easier to dodge. don't forget you can use the skeles to block the chain too. because of this its much more comfortable taking on his turbo form now (which was super dangerous prepatch).

which kinda compensates for the increased difficulty of merveil P2.

Immortal Call/Vaal Immortal Call/Incr Duration/Enhance is completely broken. Combine it with Enduring Cry/Spell Echo you're effectively immune to any and all physical damage with 100% uptime.

The cost? 6 sockets and 1s cast time every 6-15s depending on quality/endurance charges.
