That should have been enough. I can't imagine those specs are below minimum.

Version 0.9.2d -Loading the title screen should be substantially faster. This may improve the "out of memory" errors. -Curse durations have been increased by 2 seconds at all levels. *This is fantastic actually I felt they were definitely too short. So Warlord's Mark will start at 6 seconds and raise even higher as it levels, for example. -The icon of the player on the minimap while alone is now the correct colour. -Reduced graphical lag related to Merveil's fireballs. *Is it just me or did anyone else get a scary lag spike, especially on the first fireball? -Improved ambient sounds in most areas of the game, fixing the relative volumes in the process. -Ambient sounds in Merciless difficulty are now set to the correct areas. -Fixed a crash that occured sometimes when inviting a player to your party through chat *I never had this but a lot of people seemed to. Good fix. -Increased timeout times for various events so players are less likely to get disconnected when changing areas. Loving all the updates. Really vilifies the experience. If you can somehow get into this beta, it's totally worth it.

Here is this incident report for this issue. This issue was triggered during our automated backup of the game database. We are not absolutely sure what happened yet but the backup caused the database software to panic. Normally this would lead to the server aborting all open transactions, restarting the database and then retrying all the transactions once more, continuing where it left off. Unfortunately the DB recovery code was not well tested enough and the server managed to get into a state in which it thought it was recovered, but yet every transaction returned a database error. While our monitoring did detect the issue, nobody was awake to see problem and attempt to fix the issue. When I woke up this morning I restarted the realm and this brought everything back up. Here are the steps we will be taking in response to this issue. 1) Investigate the cause of the original issue and attempt to fix it. We will be asking the developers of our database software questions about what occurred. This should prevent this specific issue happening again. 2) Fix the code that recovers the database after a failure. This should prevent problems occurring with the database in the future. 3) Investigate our options for adding support for sending an SMS message to our developers so that if something goes wrong during the middle of the night we can investigate it immediately. 4) Potentially add an automatic restart to our monitoring so that if the realm continues to be in bad state for more than 5 minutes, automatically restart it. This is something that we have been considering but are reluctant to do because we might end up causing more problems if there are false positives. While we are in beta, server problems are expected, but longer term downtime is not acceptable. We apologise for this issue and hopefully with these steps it will not happen again!

I really like that they do smaller beta patch updates fixing the minor things so we don't have to wait so long for the bigger patch.

I've played the beta and I gave the key to a friend after playing it for a day because of how 'rigid' it is. Game is trying to hard to be diablo 2, when what they should be doing is taking risks into new areas to define themselves with their own game. Love the potion chugging of D2? You'll love PoE Enjoy the 1 dimensional 'skill' usage of D2? You'll enjoy PoE Simple minded enough to enjoy a game based on its looks and not fluidity? You'll like PoE. The game just does not flow, it needs a lot of polishing and work before I would consider it a product worth playing. With that said I hope the developers really come into their own with this one. People love these types of games and when they are done well they can be a lot of fun. As for myself, it takes more than a little d2 nostalgia to get me invested enough to play a game like this for hours. I've already played the shit out of diablo 2 for a long time, I don't really want to play diablo 2 again, sorry.

I love these types of games and I'll probably play PoE a lot. But even I gotta admit that so far PoE is just Diablo 2 with better graphics and monsters instead of demons. I'd really like to see a bit more innovation from this game.

I was really surprised that the developers claim they will make in-game stats respec'ing possible through rare items (thus implying that it's not through microtransactions). IMO that is one of the best places to put microtransactions without impacting gameplay (it's just the matter of paying or making a new character). Anyways, I wish to remain optimistic, but currently I find it hard that 1/20 players will choose to pay GGG.

Maplestory, despite its popularity, had to throw in double-exp in Global eventually. PoE will do the same. By what time after release do you think they will break their word and make stuff like this buyable? I wanna bet against it. IMO that is one of the best places to put microtransactions without impacting gameplay (it's just the matter of paying or making a new character). The devs do not want easy, full respecs in the game. The currency item (note: ingame currency) that resets one skill point will be rather rare. Here's what they wrote on this: The purpose of this system is to allow players to fix mistakes in their build, or to do small-scale respecs. We do not want players to be able to completely respec their entire character easily. The game is designed to be fun to play, so if you want to play a Bow character rather than an Axe character, you’re meant to start a new one. Note that if you are extremely high level and very wealthy in game, it’s possibly worth trading for enough respec currency items to perform the changes rather than play to such a high level with that character again. This is a choice we want the player to have to make. There won't be respecs as microtransactions because it is considered buying a more versatile character, which is buying power.
