So I have played my Witch to level 21 so far and the game is quite fun, but I do have some minor gripes.
It's purely aesthetical, but the equipment looks horrible. I hope later on there is some that looks better. Right now I just look like I scrapped my stuff together from different armors (which I did, but still). I like a character that is visually pleasing, and sometimes (if minor) will even choose a piece equipment over looks rather than stats.
Spells, most notably fire, do not give off additional lighting. So I'm in a dungeon raining down my Firestorm on enemies, but still can't see any further? It's really hard to see enemies at times, if they're still in the dark corner somewhere.
The passive skill tree is also very daunting and I spend as few points as possible there since I don't want to end up making a bad decision, but well that's just something you have to read into.
Maps resetting too fast. Even if I'm still in the same game session and go to a different area sometimes the maps will reset and have all monster respawned. While nice for farming, it sometimes makes dying and accidentally going to a wrong map very frustrating.
For example: I was in Chamber of Sins Level 1, didn't unlock the waypoint yet, but almost cleared the whole map. I died there and respawned in town. Accidentally left town and went back in to use the prior waypoint and reenter the Chamber, but now the map is uncovered again and all monsters are back.

Well the looks is something you have to get from cosmetic items higher lvls items do look alot better but they in the future there will be more cosmetic items like armor skins etc

And yes, each prism increases this by 1%. Max gem quality is 20% just like items. High quality gems are actually quite valuable. Bonus tip : If you sell to vendor gems with total 40% quality he will give you gemcutter prism. The same will happen if you give him one perfect gem.

Thanks for the quick reply!
What exactly does increasing weapon or armor quality do? (Sorry for the noob questions)

We cant comment when you didn't tell us what your going for skill wise.

I don't know the skills, it's my 2nd character after my first one died because the game crashed while i was fighting a mob in nightmare difficulty.
I'd imagine i mostly want to survive in hardcore and use fire skills along with having fire elemental dmg on my bow.
although I am _not_ commited to doing any of the above besides surviving. It's just the best plan I can make from where I'm at at the moment and I wanted to see if some of you POE pros thought it would be viable?
sry for being a noob and whiny.

So with all this talk about builds, does that mean I cant redistribute my points once I have spend them?
I know there are these respec points. If I spend those, do I get only one of my talent points back or all of them?

The intention of the developers is that minor mistakes should be fixed rather easily while it shouldn't be possible to change your whole playstyle etc, you should instead make a new character.

Damn, thats really annoying. Although I am kind of glad I didnt know this so far. Otherwise I would have spend way too much time on figuring out the right path to make it perfect, understanding the theory behind charcters etc. Now I just spent like I felt like. Its kind of more fun if you dont take these games too serious.

Yeah, I have the same problem with tons of games, I'm too much of a perfectionist which means I second-guess my decisions etc which makes the game boring and eventually I stop playing, making the whole situation ridiculous since I wasted so much time and made the game boring with the intention of being fit for the endgame which I never get to since I get bored.
I wouldn't worry about it too much in PoE, a huge part of the game is the experimentation and optimization of builds, if you enjoy the game, you're going to make a ton of characters, no problem with waiting until later to try to make "perfect" builds.

I really have trouble deciding what 1h weapon to use on my tank/dps marauder. I play with a friend and his bow ranger, so I'm taking a lot of life/regen/shield nodes and shit but I don't want to stay on the sidelines either when it comes to dps so I want to take several weapon nodes as well. Which weapon would be the most appropriate in this situation ?

If I have zealots oath, do health pots regen shield?

Last night on Kripp Stream I heard him saying its Life Recovery from Potions, not Regeneration and doesn't work with Zealots Oath

From a GGG-developer at the PoE Forums:
If % life regen becomes % ES regen. It is based on % ES, consistent with Ghost Reaver's ES leech having it's rate based on max ES
The following things are NOT regeneration. Flasks Leech Pretty much anything which doesn't explicitly use the word "regeneration"
These things are life recovery, but not life regeneration
Note that there is a misleading bug in the character panel where it displays total recovery, but labels it as regeneration - I didn't find this in time for open beta.

The support gems such as "Culling Strike" that gives -10% attack speed and -10% cast speed. Does that only affect the skill its linked to? Or does it affect you all the time if its socketed?

Support gems only affect the spell they are linked to, does not matter if its positive or negative
