I'm only T5 so I'm not farming the most shit. But it's starting to really wear on me just how much of a grind it is. I think my gear is pretty OP but the mods on waystones just fuck me and it's hard to play it right lol. Oh well, thanks for the info.

Oh well, thanks for the info. You can roll your maps a bit easier if you are having trouble with too many detrimental mods. What I like to do on new chars is to Trans+Aug+Regal and run the ones with 2 prefixes (upsides) and 1 suffix (downside).

Second, If I were GGG PR/communications person, I would tell them not to post such a bloody wreck. Just keep it simple: "Hey guys, unfortunately we're having to delay development for PoE1, in part because PoE2 needed more work than we had anticipated (exacerbated by the holidays)." Don't straight up admit PoE2 was in such a terrible state at launch and still go through with the schedule. Easy fix (like others also suggested), run past leagues again or even Mayhem, I'm sure there are plenty of new people that have not experienced some older leagues to the fullest and others that would just like to relieve them. My pick would be 3 months long Talisman... (pls bring back PVP [in campaign] >_>)

My pick would be 3 months long Talisman... (pls bring back PVP [in campaign] >_>) A lot of doomer comments coming from people with unrealistically high expectations. I don't think they were lying at all. This was mismanaged and now they are open about it. Unfortunately, it seems a large part of the vocal online community is not mature enough to handle this... I understand the frustration but calling them liers and predicting this is the end of PoE is just throwing temper tantrums at this point. To be fair, I don't really understand why GGG held such unrealistic expectations for themselves, either. To me it was fairly clear that even a February launch of 3.26 would have been ambitious so I expected them to push it back. Running 2 games at the same time is hard already. But when you just launch your second game and need to figure out how to run 2 games simultaneously, it's impossible to keep the release frequency of the former game for a while. I wish they would have recognised this beforehand and published a road map with events, which don't take much effort on GGG's side, for PoE. There would have been some outrage, sure, but nothing compared to now. On January 31 2025 01:15 HolydaKing wrote: They lost me with that, I'm enjoying other games since no new PoE 1 leagues. I did not play PoE 2 and haven't seen anything that makes me want to. That's fair and a healthy reaction to what is happening. Just enjoy different games until GGG gets their shit together with PoE (or PoE2, whatever you prefer). Judging by GGG's past comments about how they like players to take breaks from PoE and play different games, I would assume they would encourage this type of reaction. Obviously they cannot say that right now because they would just blow on an already raging fire.

I only remember them floating February in a couple of interviews but were still vague to the point I personally concluded "maybe February, maybe not...". I don't remember them ever saying January in an interview, let alone in an official post.

I don't think it was some intentional or nefarious plan, why would they shoot the golden goose that is PoE1? Just seems like some really poor project management. I wonder if Chris stepping away from active duties is part of this... he seemed like a better project manager. Or maybe they were screwed no matter what thinking they could run 2 live games I haven't lost faith, eventually PoE1 will be back on track. It's got too much good stuff in it to be really put down. They just really have to rework how they develop. At least we got a good Izaro meme out of this

I don't remember them ever saying January in an interview, let alone in an official post. After many days of internal discussions, we made the decision to not launch the 3.26 expansion for Path of Exile 1 this year. We’re looking to announce this new league in early 2025 (think late January) however we have to remain flexible with this window as releasing an entirely new project can come with challenges that we cannot predict. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3584433And yes it says things can change. But they went on Christmas break (nothing wrong with that) knowing no work had been done yet. They came back in January knowing no work had been done yet. They knew 2 weeks ago when they were asked about 3.26 in an interview and dodged it with a "can't get into that" that they had not done any work. www.youtube.com At any point they could have been open with the community and said that they just don't have time to work on PoE 1. They chose not to.

IDK why they were so ambitious, as soon as we entered PoE2 it was obvious there was so much work needed to be done and that PoE1 would be neglected. Their goal of PoE2 full release in 2025 seems completely unrealistic to me without a massive company overhaul I don't think it was some intentional or nefarious plan, why would they shoot the golden goose that is PoE1? Its been 6 months, they would have had something to show for it instead of absolutely nothing.

They just really have to rework how they develop. At least we got a good Izaro meme out of this I don't think Chris was ever a project manager; he was a director for the company, which presumably oversees a lot more like personnel decisions and the like. It doesn't look like what's happened to him is particularly clear, but over the past 6-12 months ownership of GGG went further to Tencent and he and the other founding executives apparently sold all of their shares - they're still technically on the payroll as directors but Tencent can revoke that at any time, and there've been rumors that he's not been present at the office at all. One can only speculate to what extent whe's been 'pushed out' and to what extent he simply sort of burnt out and wanted to move on. My gut feeling with regards to POE/POE2 is that they were not expecting POE2 to garner this much attention - otherwise why would they have simply released POE2 with what they knew was a rushed, half-baked end game instead of just postpoining it further? As they said early on they wanted to get feedback on character progression and such and slowly move forward, but then POE2 hit it really fucking big such that they could get people like Darth MT and even folks like Kripp were all back... I know in the video they were a bit brutally/overly honest about having 'realized they had work to do' for POE2 but I think the reality is more that they see such huge player numbers and engagement for POE2 that it's simply the better time/people investment. They've clearly rushed up the schedule for releasing a new league mechanic for POE2, because it seemed like they were gonna take it slow, maybe release a league toward the tail end of EA, and otherwise focus on building out the rest of the Acts and classes in the hopes of releasing with a league at the end of EA or after EA.

I don't know whether or not he likes it, but he definitely is years out of touch with poe1. He was unaware about simple things like instilling orbs even existing. I'm definitely pretty angry with the whole situation. This is such a "well, no shit this happened" level of mismanagement. You shouldn't have the guy who is so completely invested into poe2 running both games and managing the staff of both. This is why you have someone overseeing the larger picture to ensure this doesn't happen. Rather than them keep pumping out apology videos for why they keep screwing things up, how about some actual changes. They're acting like there's this bizarre rush to get poe2 finished and that it needs all the resources available to do that, rather than accepting that this is going to take them years of work to release. POE2 was out the door in December. The crunch is over. There are no more deadlines except the ones they're making up in their heads. Pull resources FROM poe2 to accelerate poe1 and don't pull poe1 resources ever again.

They chose not to. Thanks for the link. That's fair, although that post says they would announce 3.26 in late January, which to me also sounds like an intended release in February. As I said, I agree that GGG should have been realistic and not aimed for this but instead should have layed out a clear, realistic road map with events they knew they could manage with a handful of people. The point where I disagree is the notion of "they chose not to" communicate. I personally don't think this was nefarious. To me it makes no sense to not communicate in this case while their track record of communication includes being open about a lot of uncomfortable issues on their part. Hence, I believe it was mismanagement. That still shouldn't happen and is frustrating, especially when you could see this outcome happening months ago. But I still take this over a nefarious attempt at gaslighting any day. The whole talk about Chris Wilson leaving and the founders selling their shares to Tencent makes me much more nervous. Are there sources or is this reddit speculation?
