New to PoE, 6 hrs in and I am liking it a lot. I don’t touch extremely high torment level in Diablo series, I didn’t like it was more of a skill spam end game.
Right now the more “action” like gameplay in Poe is very fun, and it’s more than just the “roll”, some abilities have a bit movement built into it and they all feel fitted together as a movement set rather than I am using X and Y spell separately.
I don’t mind the drop rate, but I totally get the disappointment when you fight off a tough monster and all it has is two blue items.
My only few concerns are the enemies can swarm you real quick and you just can’t do shit except spamming wave clearing abilities.

As someone who isn't anywhere near early access (and realistically need a new PC before it releases, as I've been struggling to run the last few PoE1 leagues smoothly), it's nice to be able to check in with people's experiences here - made the mistake of looking at Reddit, oof.

just finished act2 and yeah, as a sorcerer my biggest issue is mana but the dps is there now so it's nice.
might swap from spark to arc (it's my goal) soon.

Finished Act 3 and Act 4 last night. I'm loving the game. They really cooked with the combat, running stun Titan and feels really satisfying getting the full stun / break combo off
Game is really different from poe1, not surprised there's whiplash. Personally the pace and itemization is fine for me, it's kind of fun to have a palate cleanse. Get excited by 15ms 15 res boots and what not. For me I've had enough currency / gearing to fix my gear, but had to change up my the build near end of A2. IDK if Warrior is OP or if people are not experimenting enough
It's really refreshing making my own build and being able to try out every skill, the uncut system is well thought out. Funny to be excited by gem drops again. I suspect they will pump up currency drops, but I hope that they keep loot spam low. Things got kind of out of hand with poe1 haha
Graphics, presentation, lore are all amazing, but I have been getting stuttering and lag. Crashed a few times in Ultimatum which was really frustrating.
Still need to see how endgame ends up but overall I'm very pleased with what we got
Sidebar - the gold respec costs are way too high. Eating my words from earlier. Ripped all my gold fixing an ascendency node mistake. That's the biggest thing I think should be way lowered

Did you mean warrior is UP? As in underpowered? I’m thinking of making a warrior (if I buy the game yet - seems like a lot of people are whining about it atm) but I don’t want to make the wrong class.

I will post how I feel about the game in detail soon'ish. Generally, I'm really enjoying the game so far. It gives me serious Diablo 2 vibes I got back in my youth but I'm in my mid 30's now so this has become a very rare feeling. The whole atmosphere (music, general sound design, monster design, environmental design, UI design) is just so on point. They really crafted an immersive experience.

No, pretty sure he meant OP as he is not having problems with the content. I can also attest that warrior feels good. As long as you don't try to spam one skill and facetank everything, you should be fine. Getting some defenses/enough life and a decent weapon (which has not proven difficult yet) certainly helps.

Ok sweet, I saw a lot of people complaining about how hard warrior was, but if it’s actually really good I’m definitely rolling one. That’s it, I’m fucking buying this game. You had me at D2 vibes.

Fixed mana and it's was more simple then i tough. I added a little spirit on my body armor and was able to add clarity to my frost armor. The mana regen is way better now.

Nice! You enjoying the game so far?

I don't know if I fully enjoy the game, not having a super blast.
I am actually end up playing more CS2 at the moment since the CS2 major gets me all excited.
Feels clunky on the control for POE2, pace is slow, drop is low.
>_> I am a POE1 / Torchlight infinite ... corpse dragging noob, meaning I die, I progress forward by keep dying :D
Just feels like the fights are dragged out kind of long, and I don't enjoy it. The white mobs are really strong sometime as they can do some box in war3 strategy. Boss fight feels really really dull and it is prolonged with the same mechanic you just have to repeat the same mechanics for ages. I am only level 15/16 on 2 toon, but it really doesn't feel good. Boss fights are a bit too easy in a sense the mechanics are just .... simple, but at same time so long and is so repetitive and it's really punishing when you miss it. I keep losing focus in boss fight cause how boring it is, quite often I end up having to redo the same stupid boss fight cause I am having a snoozefest

its a very distinct and divisive style of game for sure. Nothing wrong with not enjoying it and playing something else instead. Games are there to be fun.

So far I have lots of fun playing it. You really have the minding that you are not playing PoE 1.
PoE 2 is harder, itemisation is harder, boss are harder but all that make a great game.
And the game is just early beta so lots of stuff can change.

Yes, totally agreed, and I am lazy on these ARPG games to do my own research to understand all the equation of dmg/defense. So kinda waiting for some OP build and blast it :D, that being said , could very well not be the game for me right now, but overall is a solid 10/10 game tbh for what it is aiming for.

POE2 mobs 10/10 difficulty POE2 bosses 0/10 difficulty , maybe 1/10 difficulty for the fact the boss is so easy but it takes so long cause my shit dmg so I am actually losing focus and snoozing.

I'm somewhat in agreeance. I haven't found most of the bosses to be very challenging. A handful felt actually engaging/difficult, and 1 or 2 just seemed to have an order of magnitude more HP than intended, even accounting for the already high sponginess of enemies, while being otherwise extremely simplistic fights.
Outside of a few cases, bosses have been a grindy set of repetition rather than an interesting challenge. Obviously campaign bosses are going to be more watered down than endgame ones and I haven't seen those yet.
I think a big problem with the 'interestingness' is just the sluggishness of combat. Compare something like uber elder where there's a great deal of constant movement and juggling multiple things in your mind to a PoE2 boss that's "dodge roll at the right moment." Since movement is slow and there are no movement skills, boss mechanics necessarily are also slow and mostly come down to dodge rolling at the right frames and not standing in the glowing circle. Looking back now, a lot of fights ended up feeling very samey in terms of what you actually needed to do. Still remains to be seen what the endgame fights feel like, but hopefully it's more engaging.
In other news, I rerolled mercenary and have been trying that out. Clearing acts has been dramatically better than what Infernalist + fire spells could do. I think overall infernalist feels bad because shapeshifting feels awful due to it disabling your weapon slots and all stats gained. Fire spells feel far and away weaker than the cold and lightning options. At this point that character is stuck in the mud due to the prohibitively high cost of respeccing.
Mercenary has felt better for pretty much everything but bossing, where I haven't really figured out a good setup. I'm not finding my life or mana (or flask charges) taxed at all so far (late act2), but boss fights are still really slow. Comparatively the infernalist was always struggling for mana and would easily run out of charges during boss fights. Supplementing with mana drain was useful, but since shapeshifting disables your weapon slots and it's a weapon skill, using mana drain means ending demon form.
I've recently been watching some streamers in maps and I can see a glimmer of hope there that there might be some actually interesting builds, though reaching that point still seems very far away. So far been seeing a steady migration of people over toward ranger and the speed of bows/tailwind.

Dad, help me please, I don't think I got a game of soul child of POE and Elden Ring, I got a spiritual child of POE and Division 1/2 lmao

addressing some of the concerns and some upcoming changes in poe2.
if you guarantee a rare to drop on every unique/boss in act 1, I can just farm hag for disenchanting regal shards while having more regal orbs in general to drop.

Loot change is already felt. Typically get at least 1 alch / exalt / regal in a map, if not more
the maps are kind of gigantic, not sure how I feel about the kill all rares stuff. Boss maps are way more fun then most other things. Maybe the rare mods change will help, I'm only in T3s right now

the change was deployed 2 hours ago so yeah.

I really hope GGG takes their time with these adjustments, so far it all looks reasonable.
We had some point donations come in for the guild (<3 Nukem/Rawr/neophyte), does anyone have some ideas or suggestions on how to organize guild tabs for the long haul to avoid things just being cluttered 24/7?
I was thinking splitting it into "fresh character", "endgame" (Quadtab?) and "useful during campaign" in some form but maybe you guys got some ideas. Would be nice if we can come up with something for the long haul before we get the larger influx of people when their friends' guilds start drying out.
