Might try SSF for a change of pace if I do play, can always migrate if I don't like it. That said, I don't really have any skills that have been calling my name. I'm hoping a bit for something new to show up this league.

As for the league mechanic, seems they wanted to try something entirely new and I personally am excited to try it out. EDIT: Thinking about it, if you could use Boneshatter and block your own damage that would solve the problem, but you apparently cannot. So just Vaal Breach and Worm Flask? Idk.

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3531661 I'm a classic melee enjoyer, and am a sucker for base building type games. So this should be a tailor made expo for me... timing is rough though. I'll give it a go at a slow pace

I'm thinking about playing bleed Earthquake glad as in the old times ![]() Retialate skills sounds interesting too with all the glad block.

Might also try SST since it also got a cool buff. Look like a fun league, really want to see how the 'NPC mapping' will work

I feel like the problem with EQ glad is that you're going to want to 2H which is just wasting all the value from the block nodes. Aggravated bleed also seems a lot easier to get w/ a slam setup, so at that point you probably don't even need it from Glad. Weapon master is also very dual-wield centric. Synergy doesn't seem great overall. It's still a bit unclear what Determined Survivor does. It seems like it's meant to make your shield effectively give 50% block without also affecting things based on shield's block amount, but the wording is ambiguous and could mean a few other things. If it is 50%, it's pretty easy to get 68/65 block with Versatile Combatant now, so Surrender/Aegis setups are looking pretty nice. It feels like right side builds are going to really suffer this league. The huge nerf to taken as availability is going to make them so much squishier with no alternatives. I know a lot of softcore players already ran pure glass (especially on the right side), but I still think it'll be felt quite severely. Overall I'm really not a fan without some other change to phys damage. I've mostly been looking at bleed glad stuff myself, but Warden does also have a lot of interesting looking nodes that I could see building around. Getting high uptime on Avatar of the Wilds seems pretty doable - probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 70-80% on a full build. Oath of Summer and Spring are both also interesting in their own right. I'm really not sold on the new Tinctures. Mana is already an unfun mechanic to play around and ramping mana costs sound especially tedious. With an 8 second cooldown you're just going to end up with huge amounts of downtime in maps that I expect to make gameplay feel really janky, so then you're gonna have to pay the extra point tax for lingering effect. Barkskin was a decent skill, but doesn't feel valuable enough for an entire ascendancy Notable since you still have to reserve 25% mana on top of it. Seems like you have to spend so many points to use any of the right-side nodes that you don't get to use the more interesting left-side nodes.

Warden looks interesting for tri elemental builds, but idk which one would fit. Wild Strike? Elemental Hit? Or just fire dmg for the -60% res. The freeze thing looks very solid too but does "only" add safety. And the lightning one gives you 100% more damage with fast hitting skillls. Also, a decent PoB version is out if you opt for beta in the options. Still missing a lot of things like skill changes of course.

This was the first league ever I didn't do the challenges. On July 09 2024 01:28 Miragee wrote: Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I played like 5 hours of Necropolis, reached act 7, had to pause for a week and then never came back. Have been playing other games, mostly single player indie titles, and been happy with that. Expedition and Heist are some of my favourite mechanics though, so lets see what they'll do this league. Same here (performance issues didn't help), but I do like the look of the new league / melee rework and all the little QoL changes. On the other hand, it's a busy time of year. Really love the idea of retaliation skills but got burned in previous leagues by all the things that didn't trigger Flamewood support, lol.

If aggravated bleed works with Crimson Dance the numbers are looking like 15-25 million dps while being tanky. On reddit it seems they believe it doesn't and I also think it doesn't work with Crimson Dance. If you read what aggravated says, "Bleeding which has been Aggravated always deals higher Damage as though the target was moving." Crimson Dance however says your Bleed no extra damage while the target is moving. You can basically forget that, as that's the equivalent to using Resolute Techniques with Trypanon, it doesn't work. Also remember to remove the flat phys from the gem, if you add 280% more damage from the buff to Lacerate damage. It's quite big, but the buff remains massive. Also remember the mana cost change is massive, from 6 to 13 mana before support gems. Oof. I'm seeing all these build with 1 mana wheel and no mana leech or life tap. Good luck.

I kind of want to see if Sweep staves would work, but im not sure how to get the range / damage projection high enough Yeah idk how I would like Lacerate, some people say to swap in Reave for mapping but I loathed Reave in the early days of PoE when it was kinda popular. Also, while I shouldn't care what other people play, I hate to play builds that are being used by a lot of people, and Lacerate Glad is going to be that as it seems. I personally really enjoy Sweep gameplay, but I agree, getting the damage and AoE high while not being squishy seems quite hard here. I tried some Jugg / Berserker PoBs but I didn't like them.

Also remember to remove the flat phys from the gem, if you add 280% more damage from the buff to Lacerate damage. It's quite big, but the buff remains massive. I manually modified the gems on the dev build so the numbers were all with the new values. https://pastebin.com/Pdr7g0sK (just levels 19-30). Yeah, but I'm hoping "as though" makes it work anyway. It's semantically different from "100% chance" vs "cannot," but it's classic English ambiguity in the end. It feels weird to add aggravated bleed but then not have it work with Crimson Dance since that's the main thing making bleed appealing again. Hoping it's answered in the RAQ. The other thing to look at is the new Perfect Agony, but I'm not sure about the opportunity cost. Also remember the mana cost change is massive, from 6 to 13 mana before support gems. Oof. I'm seeing all these build with 1 mana wheel and no mana leech or life tap. Good luck. It's about 19 after ring crafts and helm implicit. It's solvable, but I wish GGG would just take a different approach the mana costs. They're not at all fun to play around (nobody likes spamming mana potion), so it's a very binary existence of "you've either totally solved it or the build feels janky/unenjoyable." I will say that the new Cannibalistic Rite mostly solves the remaining cost for 2 points (6 cost) and has the beneft of being a Mana mastery, which is very convenient access to 12% mana reservation efficiency. It's annoyingly outside the radius of Intuitive Leap now, FWIW. Reave was before my time, so no real opinions on the skill. Part of me is in the camp of wanting to do something like Earthquake more than something like Lacerate, but I haven't had any builds for it catch my eye yet.

I used to looooove Earthquake but for many leagues now it hasn't really felt worth it. If anyone sees an EQ build / PoB that seems promising, please share !
