Quick question: Im looking at cluster jewels for my current build, Im running skele mages, and it seems to me that there is something I dont know. On the trade there are several cluster jewels listed that have Renewal, Call tot he Slaughter as well as Raze and Pillage. Im wondering how those were created, since I didnt get a method of obtaining them that is cheaper than the equivalent of 2k chaos on craftofexile. Is there some smart way of harvest crafting such a jewel?

I haven't played since before they were added, not sure how to properly use them. Do you throw the "use when full" or "use when effect ends" on utility flasks? Is there anything that works well with Quicksilver, or do you still just hit that by hand when you start running somewhere? In case anyone's curious, what I ended up doing is putting the "use when you hit a rare/unique and not already active" enchant on my non-Quicksilver utility flasks (still using life flask and Quicksilver by hand). I found this usually ends up using the flasks in situations where I want them, and doesn't risk wasting them (e.g., the "use when it runs out" one will waste all your flask charges while you stand around deciding what to do with your archnemeses). It's not perfect. Sometimes I'll hit a rare right before it's about to die and the flasks will go off at a time when I wouldn't have used them myself; other times (especially in Delve) there are scary magic packs that I want to flask manually. But I'm such a panic-flask-masher that honestly I think this is working out better than when I try to use them by hand. I do sorta wish we could enchant non-utility flasks with these; I'd like to have auto bleed removal on my life flask. But it's not so bad to have something that forces you to pay attention to your life total I guess.
I feel you. What a lot of people use is "use when full" with charge gain when hit. I tried it and I ended up having a lot of downtime where I had to press buttons anyways - which is more of a hassle than just pressing the buttons myself all the time... So I returned to 100 % manual flasks. Remove bleeding on a life flasks works well for me. When you bleed and your life goes down rapidly, you panic flask anyways, don't you.

If I craft Cluster Jewels it's through Harvest. Targeting 3 specific ones is very hard. But if you roll on multiple ones and sell good outcomes you will hit some good ones fairly quickly. Looking at your case, I would probably use reroll fire and reroll physical (and maybe reroll life). Then reroll suffixes once you have hit both prefixes. Reroll fire more likely should have the best chances to hit both prefixes. That's a lot of rerolls still. Maybe it would be better to try to hit the prefixes with fossils and then reroll suffixes via harvest. No idea if that's good though. I'm not an expert and there are probably better ways...

I just made a major respec into Ritual and Blight on my atlas tree. First map I did afterwards was a Shaper guardian map and somehow I wasnt able to reroll rituals two additional times. My new atlas seems to apply though, since the guardian was joined by an ally, so it wasnt my old atlas being used or something like that, I presume. Do certain atlas passives simply not work in guardian maps? Anyone heard anything about that?
Edit: Further testing seems to suggest that indeed my atlas passives do not affect shaper guardian maps (outside of the obvious ones affecting them like shaper guardians spawning an ally etc).

i know they don't affect Kiriac mission but i tough they would apply to the rest... maybe not

re: flasks - I ended up doing
2 - QS (use when full) / 3 granite (use when full) / 4 (use when adjacent used) / 5 (use when adjacent used)
I'm a crit build so most of the flasks have 25%+ gain charge when crit. I found this to work pretty well - whenever I engage a big pack, my utility flasks get used as soon as I kill a few mobs and fill up. If I need to use the flasks pre-pull or for whatever reason, I just click 3 and they all get used. So instead of flask piano I just click 3 every now and then.
Quicksilver I leave decoupled since I mainly need that after a pack to move to the next one, but could put use when adjacent on it as well.

Yeah, not sure if this is intended or a known issue, but it's not just you: https://old.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/sraeo5/psa_the_shaper_guardian_maps_are_no_longer_on_the/
Also feeling the rolling minion cluster jewels malaise in SSF - finally dropped a nine-passive base (eh, good enough) and hoping I'll get some crit rolls in Harvest for Vicious Bite after my Deft Fossils yielded nothing.
How's everyone's atlas passives feeling? Probably respecced more than I needed to - have had Expedition the whole way, but respecced from Betrayal after getting trigger craft + Devouring Diadem etc into Essences, which I then respecced out of after rolling my Essence of Fear +1 wand into Abyss / boss stuff ... turns out the corrupted Abyss jewel thing wasn't proccing too much (only managed it with a Corrupter + Treant Horde archnemesis thing and nothing useable), so I'm now going for all those Eater/Exarch packsize nodes which are causing it to rain scarabs. Still have the Kirac/scouting report nodes as his missions have given me all but ~2 unique maps as well as Cortex, Beachheads, Untainted Paradise &c - just wish the blighted maps would open.
Have fought the Formed and just waiting on invites for Elderslayers/Twisted, halfway to frags/splinters for Uber Elder/Maven. One more voidstone to make City Square T14+, c'mon ...
Not sure if I'll find the pieces before I finish, but saw a nice combo w/another Absolution player using Doryani's Prototype with the new Exarch shield Dawnbreaker, Divine Flesh, and Melding of the Flesh.

For crafting clusters, i tend to have a look at which notables i actually want and their respective ilvl requirements. Have a look at the minion large cluster jewels here: POEDB LARGE CLUSTER JEWEL CLICK ME
The non-notable mods all have 3 tiers : ilvl 1, ilvl 68, and ilvl 84.(except small passive effect i think, with the 2nd tier being gated by 84).
So sub-84 already takes away quite a lot of mod weight for the t3 versions. After that you gotta have a look at your notables and if you can afford to go below 68. In your case, you can't because raze and pillage wants 68.
But harvest rerolls with certain mod types are a decent shot - fire rerolls would most likely give you fire res as 2nd suffix, but thats okay because you only need 1 suffix notable. The poedb page also shows the mod types. In the end, its mostly having a few bases at hand and using harvest (or maybe fossils) while mapping until something nice happens. At least thats how i made most of my decent clusters in past leagues

I think my takeaway is that the keyword "Areas" simply only means maps on the atlas. I am not aware of any inconsistencies with that interpretation, so it seems plausible as a working theory.

Atlas passives are feeling great for me. I went right side into Harbinger, Ambush, Betrayal, Breach, and Eater packsize/altar nodes (current tree). Originally I had some Kirac and map sustain stuff as well, but I ditched it all (except the favored map/fortune favors the brave cluster) for more juice. Map sustain feels insanely easy this league; I haven't had to buy a single map to complete the atlas. I love how common scarabs are; I'm using 2-3 on every map. Mapping is so good it's making me impatient with the league mechanic, so I'm only doing low-effort brainless recipes until whatever UI update they end up doing.
My only complaint is that once you've fully juiced a mechanic on the atlas, running unjuiced versions outside the atlas feels terrible. I did a Harbinger node in Delve and a Breach room in the Temple yesterday, and they were so fucking sad

yeah I love the new atlas. I hope they switch it up so we dont use standard builds every league, but as long as they keep free harb / shrine / box ill be happy

Couldn't play all that much and somehow ended up with an RF Chieftain (level 86?) still just trying to get Atlas passives.
Went for Einhar, Rogue Exiles and will add Strongboxes. I did these because i don't like the micromanagement/activation stuff many other leagues require. It feels so nice to just "play" a map whiteout having to interract with some mechanic or set something up, just kill everything and it's gonna be allright.
Can't say much about how good the Einhar nodes are so far due too not having done many high tier maps but the 22 rogue exiles (that can spawn in doubles?) feel hilarious.

I did pretty much everything I wanted on my Skele mages build, except the Feared, which should be no problem.. Now im contemplating which build to run next. Id love to either play zoomzoom or go for something basically immortal that can run super juiced maps fairly easily, since I havent really done either of those things (usually I just play fairly allround characters and do everything with them..)
My budget would be something like 30ex, any ideas what would be nice to do? Currently contemplating TriPolarBears Poison Helix Pathfinder since that looks like it depends on several mechanics I figure will get toned down or simply removed in the next updates. Anyone has experience with that? Im a bit worried that the clearspeed will feel slow still...
|
What's the build to play if you fail Maven's memory game literally 100% of the time in the last phase, so you want enough DPS to never have to do it more than once?
|
This thread seems awfully silent. Are people still playing? How do you feel about the changes after a month?
I didn't have much time to play but started recently on a Bleed Bow Glad. I'm not exactly sure what it is or if it is a culmination of things but it kinda feels underwhelming right now at lvl 87, early red maps. Maven progress feels slower than before? The 2 new entities are barely noticable so far. There are a few extra spawns which blend in with the rest, nothing like the conquerer spawns. I saw one altar so far. The new atlas trees should be superior to the old system but the small incremental steps make those steps feel meaningless compared to before, when we had few but meaningful points. I also don't understand Kirac missions. What do I get for completion? Is there even a difference between success and failure. I'm missing something here...
On top of all that my build doesn't feel great clearing, even with the bleed explosions. Single target is good for a change but I have made so many upgrades already and the bleed damage on packs still feels meh. With this many upgrades, usually every trash build I play feels decent in T16 maps but I feel like this still struggles in early read maps if it wasn't for the explosions, which carry the build through maps... Gladiator also seems like a shit ascendancy. Nothing synergises and you need work arounds for everything. You don't get Frenzy or Endurance charges with explosions, so those modifiers are useless. Same with challenger charges so I don't even bother running a stance and use the default blood stance. Alternatives in the block sector are mediocre and worth it unless I go an entirely different route. Violent Retaliation would be cool if it worked for bleed but it doesn't. Maybe I should roll something else and use this as a bosser...
|
I stopped playing yesterday. Was a very good expansion, map system is better than ever. Although it was also faster than ever because map sustain was never an issue and I completed like 80 maps without playing one twice without buying maps.
|
I'm trying to work up the motivation to play a second character in the league, but haven't come up with something I'm excited about yet.
What are some fun bossers that you can sink some currency into?
|
I've played a lot this league to be honest. 137/137 atlas, 34/38 challenges. I think I did all bosses and invitations in the game except "The Feared" and "Aul".
I've been playing almost all nights with a friend, me as an scion aurabot and him as a Arc Assasin. It has been fun to farm, and to complete challenges and bosses both together. We will do The Feared tonight I think.
My other character when I play alone is a Maw of Mischief one, detonating Stone Golems with huge amounts of minion life for big ignites (they resummon themselves as a elementalist). It is a great bosser in my opinion.
I leveled a hollow palm raider too but I got tired of it soon (I have played it before already) and deleted it.
|
I'm playing a little, though watching people get wrecked in Elden Ring is also fun.
I had missed that Hiltless + flask charges when it is a thing, so thinking about doing a second character with that, but not really got the motiviation to think it through.
Crackling lance is real fun, but standing still is a hassle.
|
im on a pause cause im away from home, will start again in 10days and gonna start something new.
Probably gonna do a Flicker strike for fun, don't have lots of currency so hopefully i can still make it work :|
|
Ok, thanks for the feedback. Seems like people are very quick to finish the league then, huh.
The economy still seems very much intact. No problems finding people to trade with. That should be good news for you FaCE.
I got up to T16 now and defeated the 2 new mini bosses. I killed those super quickly, which surprised me. Usually I play builds which don't do a lot of bossing damage so I'm used to longer fights. The Hunger guy didn't even do anything but hit the air and died. In the other fight I at least had to do the mechanics once.
Any suggestions for a fun mapper btw.? Thinking about Spark atm. And I kind of want to play a mana build again but I'm not sure if I wanted to gamble on archmage after it got nuked. Another idea would be a Lightning Arrow Berserker because rage is fun.
