I have never played a trapper (but have played mines several times), brands or a summoner, but I think none of them are super attractive this league either, right? Would be nice to run something I havent played before, open to any suggestions, preferably something that can deal with most content, since I dont tend to twink much during leagues. :D

Totally ready to scrap it in early red maps because the gear to make it feasible won't drop and i can't be bothered to farm lower Tiers (and probably stop playing the league). It's the circle of PoE :p Feeling some Chieftain this time.. RF-Discharge? Hm... | ||

Btw, you can buy Atlas Tree regrets for 2x regular regrets, and they should be 10x more common. Good stuff. | ||

But the old atlas was better if you want to play many different things and not specialize. You could play Bestiary in one region, Incursion in another region, Betrayed in another region, Harvest in another region, Delve in another region etc. Now, you can only play like 3-4 completely buffed things at once (or more semi buffed things). This should overall make for jucier maps for sure, but some people will prefer the old system surely (I don't think I'll be one of them though). Respeccing is possible but even the 2 regrets price should be pretty expensive if you want to do a complete reset of the tree. I expect the price of regrets to increase, and as such fusings and chance orbs will rise in price too (vendor recipe). | ||

I guess I enjoy variance a lot, so I will probably have a rather hard time adjusting to the change and making decisions that are both meaningful yet dont feel too restrictive, but I have not yet studied the atlas tree at all. Another interesting thing is that one could potentially ask friends to open maps for you in their hideout when they have atlas nodes that you desire to run a couple of maps with. Somehow PoE has never been a really social game for me (is that better when being part of the TL guild?), even though the social aspects were the main thing keeping me in the game in D2 etc. | ||

Map progression was a lot slower, so sharing map completions / exp was a good idea. Builds were slower and performance was better, so it wasn't as taxing on your computer to party up. I used to run lots of maps / bosses / etc with guildies, but not so much in a while. Still, group progression IS faster than solo progression if done correctly, and sharing certain things is still advantageous. Just that running solo makes more sense for the vast majority of people. I've been pretty inactive lately, but generally the TL guild is just there as a larger chatroom to talk about the league, builds, good drops, with some amount of sharing/helping (e.g. bench crafts). | ||

That scares me a bit though, and I`m really not sure how to go about that one. Inquis? Hoping call of the brotherhood isnt absurdly expensive this league and play occultist spark? Or go crazy and zoomzoom as spark raider? The latter would probably be the strangest starter that i personally went with in any league. | ||

I'm settled on Spectral Helix but I dunno whether to go poison Occ / Assasin version, or a more traditional champ/zerker. Poison version is better early for sure, but trying to scale gear into endgame will be pretty expensive with how much it overlaps with other popular builds | ||

As for the Atlas passive tree... man I got no idea what I want to pick from it. I think 30 points for map sustain & Kirac is a given, but then you gotta choose. I feel Harbinger is looking very good, Abyss as well (but I don't really like doing Abyssal Depths  ), Rogue Exiles + Torment could be insanely good loot too. A lot of things look good if you pick all nodes. I think Harvest is busted but I don't enjoy it very much. And Harvest the nodes on the new tree aree, from what I see, exactly like the old one. Think I won't buff it this time around. | ||

Maybe the new OOS would help with dmg, dunno. Might be best to keep this in mind for a 2nd build or so. Needs pierce, proj speed, skill duration, and then probably crit scaling? I tinkered around in pob for a bit, but it seems you`d have to be comfy with being quite squishy for a while, or be zdps at the start. And for the "just mapping really fast" playstyle theres plenty of safer picks on raider/deadeye i guess Might just be a toin coss between EA ballista and Summoner for me then. . | ||

Edit I actually did a Hiero run (using Ziz's PoB) and wanted to compare notes. Disclaimer: I'm not that great at the game  )Some things of note: - Holy flame totem helped - had to do sceptres for a few levels for lack of currency (muling for Swift Assembly would probably fix that - not sure if it's better initially though) - Armageddon Brand was nice and fast, switching to EA right at 28 was kind of a pain - don't spam the ballistas, the damage is ok but delayed and also drains mana quickly (I found slapping 1 or 2 plus a frenzy here and there was enough) - the style is a bit clunky (not like totems, even though everyone keeps saying that) - check your hit chance - gets better after act 4 or so, but I would probably just continue Armageddon brand - need to do library on Hiero for gems - bosses are easy because you drop ballistas and run around. - not particularly fast but safe bosser - because of ignite, you can be one screen away before the filter signals your drop, so expect a bit of backtracking at times. I had some audio bug where the sounds were delayed sometimes, anyone else have this happen? I was lucky and dropped a Storm Cloud (rip league start) which was pretty good for most of the campaign. Did first 3 labs easily. Also, some guy made it to depth 10k in SSF Standard delve | ||

Added - The Veiled and Crafted Modifiers that cause Skills to cost no Mana or Life while Focused now only applies to Non-Aura Skills, due to the interaction it could have with the new Divine Blessing Support. We plan on disabling this modifier in 3.18.0. also there's this odd Orb of Storms change. Updated - Orb of Storms no longer has a duration. Instead, it now has "Orb disappears after 10 Strikes" at gem level 1, up to 29 at gem level 20. Seems very good for utility orb of storms, but bad for high cast speed builds that want it for damage? -- Are there any sources of "Gain X% of Maximum Life as Extra Maximum Energy Shield" other than the veiled body armour mod? | ||

If you are okay with not totally zooming like crazy, i liked poison concoction pathfinder a lot. its super tanky, very straightforward. Clear is decent with pathfinder poison prolif. Heard dmg falls off in the 80s / higher yellow maps, so it'll need a bit of invest then (like any half decent cluster jewel for example, or more dot multi (gloves, amu etc). Also, you dont have to worry about getting a good weapon, coz you`re not gonna use one  Alternatively, theres always a few variations on minion builds... Oh, and i'm pretty sure toxic rain is still very much alive... | ||

So the break even point would be at around 5 casts per second? Do you get so much faster with a fast casting build lightning build? I dont know shit about self casting anything if i`m honest Regarding life as extra es - theres soul tether if that works with your build (as in, if you got leech) | ||
