For a fun caster, I had lots of fun with Arc, and the Vaal Arc got a buff so it can be better. And you can use a Impulsa (I think it's the name) for your explo armor. | ||

 Sad thing is that due to flesh and stone nerf I won't be able to fit blood and sand into the build, at least not initially without a couple enlightens and probably a reservation passive on the tree. | ||

It takes a lot of inventory micro though, due to all the socket pressure yeah, when i played ed/cont trickster last time (in harvest), i used spellslinger until maybe t8-t10 maps. the damage felt kinda meh by then, missing malevolence and stuff. After the switch and some gearing up, i had contagion on 4L, ED in 5L essence crafted gloves, and blight as a 6L for single target. Pushing ED damage and contagion aoe felt best. Gotta get enough damage on ED that one ED kills at least any rare mob in a legion, and everything is fine. It was also (with an OG glancing blows, but still) the easiest and safest a8 sirus killer i ever played. not the fastest, but for sure the safest. That "sirus throws balls at you between 2 walls" phase was pretty much "stand there, free damage". | ||

So what are the gem options then? VGS + Brutality + Pulverise + Melee Physical Damage + Impale + Maim / Ruthless (should be trash for Vaal gems) / Fortify (not for Champion) / Concentrated Effect (gem swapping / int requirement). | ||

in any case I'm going Slayer so decision is easy for me xD - the Lifetap support gem isn't too bad for early game mana management.. not sure how much of a loss in damage that is though | ||
