Yeah, a new Wicked Ward keystone near the witch starting area which gives you :
- ES recharge cannot be interrupted if it started recently
- 50% less maximum ES recovery/s from leech
- 50% less ES regen

Sounds like an Occultist nerf, which is overdue in my opinion

Chieftain reveal was decent, Gladiator a little disappointing and now Slayer was revealed. It looks like how Ascendancys should look: You don't really know what to pick since there are a lot of good options. I just wonder if the base crit chance is 8% means that Increased Crit support can't increase that. In that case it's less crazy but still good.

99% sure that it can't be modified by anything given how it is phrased (same phrasing as loreweave max res for instance)

The only new thing that's really melee-specific is the rework on Impact. There's a lot of good stuff going on, but I'm not convinced that Slayer isn't just going to end up being a great ranged ascendancy.

As for the Berserker changes, it's pretty awesome for damage (like it should be). If there are no huge changes to melee crit nodes on the bottom left/top side of the passive tree, then I'm fairly sure Berserker is better played as non crit and the Blitz node is kinda like Elemental Overload then. You'd need just a little bit of crit chance and it should work fine for non crit builds, just can't pick RT then but accuracy is getting reworked and easier to cap so who knows what RT looks like now.

Maybe for a Hegemony's Era build you could go Berserker with crit, however I'm pretty sure for something like Starforge/Lioneye's Glare or even CoC Quill Rain sheningans Slayer is a much better crit class and that's probably true for much more weapons that have crappy base crit chance (can change tho, will see what they do with the weapon types in the patch).

Slayer and Berserker are insane now. I need to find a good Cyclone build using one of those two for a friend.

I am still going ranged and spell myself :D Melee are still too squishy from what has been revealed so far.

You don't get any benefit from Blitz without a lot of crit, the charges last 5 seconds and you need to stack them up. The node prior to that is like EO.

Considering the amount of attack speed Berserker gets, getting 20 crits even with as low as 5% crit chance shouldn't be terribly hard. Might be not reliable though idk; and it ofc depends on the skill used.

I assume it works like PCoC (the wording is the same) and in that case it's impossible to come close to 20 stacks without investing a lot into crit. It's a bit less than 200 hits over 5 seconds assuming 5% basecrit , 100% accuracy, no multistrike and not factoring in the reduced crit chance per Blitz charge unless I'm missing something.

If it works like Voll's Protector it shouldn't be hard, that's true, but Voll's Protector mod is worded differently.

I can only think of how Raider and Assassin is going to need some love now.

I think Aspect of Carnage and Master of Form should switch places.

So far I'm thinking: Slayer or Pathfinder seems nice for the sustain if bosses are going to be harder, but war cries are awesome with Berserker, and Chieftain is also looking good for the screeen slamming action, so starting a marauder and deciding later might be the best for me.
Nothing is impossible, only some things for some people.

There'll be some Champion changes too, which is somewhat surprising. They're going to be teased next I think. So all 3 Duelist classes get some changes.

I'm not sure where you are getting 200 hits from without taking into account the reduced crit chance. You only need 1 crit every 5 seconds to eventually make it to 20 stacks. That said, I think that with 5s duration, dropping stacks will happen fairly frequently during mapping and even during bosses where you have to dodge, so having it take 30s to stack up to 20 is a pretty significant problem.
