what's the most noob friendly class and what is the funnest class to play?
Depends on what you find fun. The fun in the class/passive skill system is that you can create your own type of build.
I have fun with all classes but Im favoring the templar more atm.

made a minion-based Witch and started out in HC since death just means getting placed into SC
I got 1 shot by Vaal (A2 end-boss). seemed soloable for me if I knew I could get 1 shot though.
passive skill tree isn't that intimidating since all classes have access to the same tree but at different starting points
kind of annoying needing to search for good passives for a specific build
anyways, I enjoy the game

I'm not sure how other people feel about this, but there are random spikes in difficulty in this game. You could be rolling through 5-6 areas and then suddenly the next area's just filled with this one mob that's resistant to whatever you're dishing out, and it becomes a terrible game of "can i cheese the ai before I die". I guess I should be saving up some resistance rings or whatever at my level (17~), i only get +2X resistance and it is completely useless :/

Well difficulty spikes are similar to D2. If you never played D2 it might seem strange to you. Like D2 this game is punishing to most players that don't know what to expect. Once you go through all content on normal difficulty you can be prepared for it all for higher difficulties and playing with alternate characters.
As for resistances, rule of thumb is don't try to tank elemental damage if you don't have at least 50+% resistance to that element. And against Lightning even that is not enough, you want to be closer to 75%.
Also high life protects you from secondary effects of elemental attacks, cold will only slow you instead of freeze you and shock will last very short time.

I'm a solo ranger trying to clear out the Chamber of Sin(?), and it is literally filled with nothing but lightning archers and lightning skeletons. I can't do anything against them and they pretty much 3-4 shot me. It's especially annoying when the mages use spark and the game desyncs or something and I get hit by invisible spells.
At this point I'm just waiting for OB so my friends can also play instead of soloing.

Are you using only lightning abilities?

open beta is about a month away, If I had keys until then I'd give them.

After buying into the beta a few days ago I have to say it was well worth it. I mainly can't wait for the weeklong hardcore race.

I actually think difficulty spike in D2 was minor within an act. Most of the real difficulty spike was from Act3 -> Act4.... but Act4 is really the "boss act" so I think it's fair that it's harder.

Argh this game sucks up so much of my time. Very fun though. Died last night in HC on my lvl 55 dual wand CI shadow, I wasn't careful enough against flicker strike mobs, QQ. I think I'll take a break playing some HOTS until PoE open beta. Anyway, none of my friends seem to want this beta key I have so I'll just leave it here. First come, first served.
