The other problem with all this theorycraft centreing on that new jewel is that we dont' know what scion ascendancy looks like lmao, which is a huge deal here

If you are going to be leveling with it, make sure to grab as much cast speed from the tree as you can and get some cast speed wands/scepters. And get a Silver Flask early. Later respec some of it as you get cast speed from gems, and what you get as part of the build.

I'm still waiting for the other ascendancies, but right now I think about adapting the frostbolt totem hiero that I build for some race. The build was already super strong for mapping, and with all the Hiero goodness, its only going to be better. I wonder if its worth to just get the 2 extra totems, tell Ancestral Bond to fuck off, and selfcast something. Maybe finally the time to use vortex with frostbolt ? 3 totem frostbolts with Taryns Shiver or Pledge of hands, accompanied by vortex? or maybe self-cast arc+CoH+whatever and get EE into the build ? Might have to think about that still.

Other candidates seem to be "finally play mines", either arc or GC then probably. Would kind of depend on what happens to Sabo, although I don`t think there is going to be a lot of changes, considering gc miner as sabo did more than okay in the past. Arc mines as Assassin looks pretty nice tho.

I'd second this: cast speed is the single most important stat for FB totems to not feel shitty. A silver flask really helps out quite a lot.

Same for me, I'm still waiting on some Ascendancies, like saboteur, as I too am interested in finally making a miner. It'd be Arc miner for sure if there wasn't so many added phys to elemental items (*cough* Elder/Shaped weapons)... Thanks to that, Glacial Cascade is just bonkers dps. Arc miner will still deal good damage but it feels shitty not to be able to abuse the formerly mentioned items.

If they fix the taunt issues for champion I might do one, if none of the next Ascendancy changes are convincing me.

How are +int, +mana & mana regen trash modifiers...

In the way that any rare that has those modifiers is automatically considered by the vast majority of the player-base inferior to those with +life, ES, res, damage (basically any type), and so on. Hmm I guess if life mod is trashed for all non-life builds, flat dmg trash for all non-attack builds, elemental dmg with attk trash for all non-attack elemental builds, armor trash for eva builds, then I guess mana& regen are trashed for non-MoM builds.

Like come on it's less niche than minion mod and no one says those are trashed. It just for a semi-niche defense mechanism.

Since the vast majority are life builds, flat dmg / ele with attack are good for all non-spell builds, then they are more helpful to a larger percent of the player base and therefore more helpful overall. Saying "well every stat has a niche build that uses it" in order to ignore my point is great, you win and are absolutely right. My point was that GGG have a way to change balance and add diversity without adding double-rares (shaper/elder) or double-uniques (fated uniques) or whatever it is that doesn't make the game actually harder... by adding challenge where the requirements are for the vast majority of players between not stringent to non-existant. Which you ignored.

edit: Double the attribute requirements of everything, and suddenly those +30 dex nodes will actually get consideration (for instance).

It's hard to say whether doubling attribute requirements would add more diversity, or destroy it just by pushing people more toward builds that already rely predominantly on support gems in the same colors as their main skills.

+30 dex nodes (and other +30) are used by many that need a temporary fix for their attribute problem until they can buy next gear upgrade. And I am certain SSF people use them a lot more.

What the discussion comes down to is "everyone can use bows, everyone can go melee, everyone can do everything" was one of PoE's core design decisions when it was made, that's why all the classes are on the same skill tree. So you disagree with GGG on what good design is at such a basic level that the discussion prolly won't end up being useful.

Opposite to you a big part of the community is not happy that 3.2 ascendancy changes force certain skills now instead of being more general like how PoE was since the beginning.

Plus its not even like raising attribute requirements would kill Duelist ranged builds. It's simply not that far from the Ranger start, so it has access to all of the Dex nodes that Ranger builds feasibly get. Ranger builds often path toward the Duelist start to get their life nodes and pick up Str nodes anyway because they still need red support gems.

It's honestly not out of the realm of possibility that Ranger ranged builds would get hurt more by raising attribute requirements than Duelist ones. Doubling attribute requirements doesn't punish builds that are "off-base" for your class, they just punish builds that use support gems that have different colors from your main skill in general, regardless of where in the tree you start.

When we have Chaos crit for Harness of the Void :| Geeze how Trickster is better at literally everything.

Still have hope for Jug as I finally have plan for one. Still half the Ascendancies I've never played yet.
Actually I have only played 8 out of 19. Not a single Marauder's ones what's wrong with me

Meanwhile, I've played every Marauder/Duelist ascendancy and none of the Witch/Shadow ones.

Looks even better for for RF now, but it is not Occultist/Hiero level. Those two are the best ones.
