I stopped doing it this league and made currency faster purely from wasting less time in hideout sorting through crap. Any time spent in hideout is time not spent in a map/lab/whatever. You are not well organized then. I have one tab for chaos recipe. I collect one set on unid gear and one set of quality unid gear. I fill the rest of the spots with belts, rings and amulets (as they are hardest to get regularly). I keep these sets together in specific part of the tab and always keep them there. It is very fast and easy at a glance to see what is missing. From maps I just pick up the part that is missing. When I complete a set and sell it for chaos I start collecting a new one from next map (I pick up one of each item only). It does not take a lot of time from normal mapping. It probably takes more time needing to get the quality set to 20% first on every gear piece. But I can understand if people just randomly dump rare pieces into one tab and later try to get a set from that, they find that slow.

There is no amount of optimising which will make chaos recipe worth it tbh, with enough map clear and iiq youll get more then 2c in the time it takes to stash and then vendor all the items. That's not a joke btw.

That's not a joke btw. Not everyone can play that fast. I got a wife and a kid asking me questions and breaking my concentration all the time. Even if I wanted I could not be mapping very fast all the time.

The thing about farming in PoE is that 99% of the shit that drops is worthless junk that's not even worth looking at, you just make a ton on the 1% that's actually worth a shitload. This applies to basically whatever you're farming: Doctor cards, Exalt drops, gg lab enchants, chase T1 uniques, good rare jewelry, etc. By not doing things like the chaos recipe, you take away a source of steady income (which feels bad at first), but you just give yourself way more chances to get those 1% items that are worth a LOT more.

Poe.trade says they go for 2 to 3 ex ![]() Same I happened to turn in the card set for vivid jewel 7% life, aug dot. Then regal cause why not and hit fire dmg. Sold for 1.5ex.

It's not really that simple because "% Increased Damage" and "% Increased Maximum Life" stack multiplicatively with your flat damage, and stack additively with other sources of % inc. You generally end up with a ton % Inc damage/life because all of that comes off your tree, while sources of flat damage outside of base weapon/spell damage are much rarer. This is why Steel Rings are so much better than they appear initially--being able to get a significant amount of flat damage on a ring implicit adds a pretty sizeable chunk of damage. If you have a base weapon attack that does 200 damage and you have no % inc damage at all on your tree, +10 flat physical damage adds less than +10% increased damage. But if you have 300% inc damage on your tree, +10 flat damage adds more damage than getting +10% inc damage. So they're really both just different kinds of multipliers, not "% is better than flat". So the answer is really that you need a balance between % Inc and Flat Damage/Life, and you kind of need to use PoB to figure out where the breakpoint is.

Yeah the additive increase effects did mess with my quick mental math. I did a bit of crafting in PoB and it seems like trading flat (Abyss) for %inc is a lateral move with my current gear -- for both damage and life. But rare jewels with the right affixes (and good rolls) are comparatively very expensive given that Abyss jewels are dropping like candy this league. In the future it might be more interesting though, if abysses stick around.

but they do seem much easier to roll 3 synergistic damage mods since any build that wants x-y fire to (type) attacks also wants x-y cold/lightning to (same type) attacks as well as to all attacks etc.

Then again i really havent had any time for this league, and gearing/rebuilding into CI sounds like a pain. I should post the build sometime so you guys can yell at me for glaring errors.

You should be able to get up to 24 int per jewel (16+8).
