For my planned build I don't think I can spare extra points to make bleeding potent, but with this change poison and bleed might actually be good again if one focusses on it.
PoB is not always correct. In update that just arrived it didn't apply Frenzy charge more modifier to DD or ignite for DD I was playing around with.
Guys, new Charged Dash is a weapon skill that works with all weapons :D You know what that means?! Time for me to make another Mjolner build!!! :D :D
Berserker that uses Shock Nova in Mjolner and Charged Dash+CwC+Arc? You hit everyone while channeling, when you release you also release a series of Shock Novas with your Charged Dash attacks and while channeling to move to next location you again release Arcs to anyone that was outside of Shock Nova range Now the questions is if I can squeeze this into my Assassin Mjolner that uses Cyclone+Cast on Crit. Would Charged Dash+CwC+cast on crit+Arc+Inc crit+inc damage work?! Then I get to activate Arcs when channeling and after I release the button and more forward with those explosions crits should activate more Shock Novas along with those from Mjolner :D
Also Charged Dash is a movement skill so Trickster can use it to have 0 mana cost main skill :D

Why Trickster? Are the defensive nodes that strong? Damage wise, I'd guess Occultist, or even Deadeye (Projectile Damage works on Caustic Arrow, doesn't it? And both Far Shot and Endless Munitions seem pretty good) should be superior.
What do you think of combining Caustic Arrow with Remote Mine? You will have access to quite some "more damage", and also some more nodes on the passive tree to increase the damage.
I chose trickster because shadow is a strong starting spot for CA, and swift killer is a super OP node for CA. Historically it's been a pain for me to keep frenzy charges up, it would slow me down too much with a build that's merit is supposed to be it's speed in clearing non-bosses. This takes care of that and gives me a bonus for it.
And then yeah I am using MoM and that other node is strong for MoM.
and archangerl if it works smoothly that sounds badass
It also has a problem when fighting bosses. I do that and stop near the boss. What then? With cyclone I would continue moving and hitting all the time, doing maximum DPS. And now I am here just standing there next to boss just channeling my 2.5 arcs per second and hoping to not die. Then I release the button every 1 second and hope to hit him enough times?!
Combination should be fine with general map clearing but I think with bosses Charged Dash skill has a problem.
Ok here is Berserker non crit version. I only spent 30 min on it so it is probably not that optimized but dps numbers are OK https://pastebin.com/qYiMnTmY 200k dps while Mjolner is attacking+whatever dps charged dash does. 137k dps while channeling. Still nothing special for Mjolner+Astramentis build...
This would work much better if Mjolner could work with Blade Flurry

It's going to be insanely strong, and a great league starter. It went from having 3 good supports (plus Empower if you're rich) to having 5 good supports (plus Empower if you're rich), and sustaining RF is a cakewalk now. More than makes up for the individual skill nerfs.
Non-crit Inquisitor, Trickster, and Berserker are the top ascendancies for it. Level with whatever random fire skills you like (Firestorm, pizza sticks, etc.), then swap to SR once you get a 4L or so. RF is optional; just don't bother activating it until you get your RotP and enough regen to sustain it.
Thanks, is there anywhere I can see a build for it? I'm still not really sure on the links or tree for it. Thinking of the inquisitor version.
Likely not perfect, feel free to mess about with it or optimize further. Key unique is Rise of the Phoenix to sustain RF; you might also use:
Belly (life) or Cloak of Defiance (more MoM)
Essence Worm (for Purity of Fire)
Doryani's Catalyst (damage) or Brightbeak (shield charge speed)
Immortal Flesh (lots of regen)
...but those are all very optional.
Links for Scorching Ray are SR, Burning Damage, Elemental Focus, Controlled Destruction, Efficacy, Rapid Decay. If you're rich, Empower 3/4 is probably better than Rapid Decay, but not by all that much unless you're using a +gems chest.
Use an Orb of Storms or Ball Lightning setup with Inc Crit and CoH+Flammability to proc Elemental Overload and Elemental Equilibrium; make sure you don't have any fire damage added to spells for this.
The build works perfectly fine without RF if you have trouble sustaining regen early on.
ZiggyD video where he's playing pretty much this build.
Thanks! Any idea how you would level this? I started trying this out on beta last night but only got to act 3 before going to bed. I was leveling as firestorm, since scorching ray wasn't doing any damage at that level.
@archangel if they did that, I think they would have to rename it to Hammer Flurry.
Ok I haven't look into it very carefully, so I'm still kinda blurry here. In 3.0 Bleed will have a separate base dmg right ? Which is based on weapon ? And its base duration is still the same or ?

Well... so am I. Looking at Path of Building it calculates basically just the base damage of the weapon plus added physical from rings/amus which is equal to what the Patch Notes say and makes for a very low starting value. For me it looks like Bleeding is very minor unless you go for a complete Bleed focussed build and choose the gems / items for that.
So I'm a super big noob at this game. First char was summoner with tentacle miscreation greater multiple projectile spectres, 2nd/current char is a flame totem + zombies build. Both witch. Can anyone help me with a flame totem/summoner build, or any other build that you think a noob can handle for 3.0? I tried looking on the forums and stuff but what little I understood was talking about 5-6 link stuff and I count myself lucky if i nab a 3 link with the right colors.

This doesn't work. If you link a gem to two different supports that would trigger it (e.g., CWC and COC), neither one works.

I think standard fire spell levelling strategies (Fire Trap, Firestorm, pizza sticks, etc.) are the way to go. You're right, Scorching Ray is pretty bad until you get a 4L and some cast speed.
Kinda hoping a death's oath drops because if so I will probably try to make a build around it. Honestly it sounds like it could be super overpowered. I would go trickster and then get the free movement skill, go cyclone and do poison. Then scale chaos/damage over time. Defenses wouldn't be the best I guess, that would be the one downside.

Not sure how to help you, if you are happy with a 3 link you probably never played through normal pre 3.0 (though Greater Multiple Projectiles kinda implies you did ^^). The beginner infos on the basics of PoE from the opening post in this thread might help you more than for example guides from Ghazzy (example here) who is known for having played lots of different summoner builds that are rather easy to start with.

Totems are not same as minions. The way the work is also very different. Summoner is normally someone that only uses minions. You need to decide to be a summoner or totem user. Unless you use very specific combinations like totem summoning animated weapons while you focus on improving minion stats that animated weapons are.

I'm almost certain Death's Oath is still terrible; it only has two damage supports that work.

We don't know that at all. For all we know the skill will be a spell.
(I want to dream, don't take this from me before we knwo for sure)
