Examples: -Dark Pact Life/Es Hybrid Self cast -Caustic Arrow the damage out is greatly buffed and if you couple it with the attack damage at full life change you can scale it even more -Spark with Added Lightning /Innervate and new pierce mechanics -Doomfletch Prism builds (considered by many to be the new op build meta) -New mine mechanics - IE Glacial Cascade Mine - apparently the aoe is huge -The new Attack Damage at full life gem (changed from melee phys at full life) -**** Deaths Oath change**** THe unique armor that used to do 450 flat chaos dmg to nearby enemies now grants a skill that uses sockets in the armor (like whispering ice did) really excited to try this but dont think its a good league starter(because its a specific build and hard to chrome). But with some basic building its pretty easy to scale the aura to 24k chaos dmg per second at least. -The nerfs to SRS and Sunder and how strong they still are (imo pretty strong still but people are bored of them) -Baron Zombie heavy builds using 2x threshold gems for huge slam damage | ||

Caustic Arrow looks like a pretty good starter. you need ED swap or 4L ED for single target though. Travis thought up a trickster build for it Spark with nova gem could be quite good. It's not nearly as OP as vaal spark but you can get quite a bit of extra projectiles. Not a starter. the new QoL to mines is huge IMO. from what I understand, if you place a mine, then hit detonate immediately, the mine will go off as soon as it is able. this means way less wasted time when clearing. GC mines is a good starter. frostbolt is another option; better clear, but less ways to scale the damage death's oath doesnt seem good to me. the damage will never be close to RF levels. it just seems like a waste of time to mess with it. Yea the QoL of mines makes me want to play them so bad. I know your understanding is correct, but beyond that I don't shit about mine builds so I'm not gonna use it as a starter. I think for people who have experience they are super strong looking. Caustic Arrow mine? Mmmm. Eh, raiz even in 2.6 with a weaker version of Caustic didnt use a single target switch. And that was before the damage buff and the change to "Attack Damage on Full life"(formerly melee dmg on full life) not to mention the other great ways to scale caustic in beta, decay etc. He actually used a abyssal cry and a wither totem. With blink arrow and his blasphemys. He was 98 SSF and wayyyy ahead until he ripped  I don't think caustic will need a switch to be effective in 3.0. He was an Occultist though. I disagree about Death's Oath though. Even Havoc was saying that it seems OP as fuck and he has a special eye for abusing OP builds. Mark my words we will see Havoc at the top of the ladder with a deaths oath build pretty soon But hey I could also be super wrong and you can quote me and tell me I'm an idiot haha.Remember there's other ways to get projectiles through uniques etc and the 100% increased soul cost of vaal skills, as well as other vaal nerfs(mainly no more spell echo). Spark can certainly be as strong as Vaal Spark is NOW with the changes. You'd just use 1 threshold jewel. To keep a decent duration and that's a guaranteed quest reward. Don't see why you couldn't use it as a starter. It might struggle against bosses though as usual but you could get around it. In general it seems like the real test is builds that can kill the new buffed life bosses well and still have good clear speed. Not that easy on high tiers. | ||

@bo1b despite the nerf necro srs might still be the smoothest leveler out of the three you mentioned. they're all fairly good though. I still think wander is a rough start especially as scion | ||
