Did anyone else hate how the minimap is displayed? So much clutter and useless detail, I almost wanted to turn it off but I needed to see where I was going. In my opinion, minimaps should be simple outlines of the terrain

I think this has something to do with connection lag. I started having similar problems when I was watching three or four streams while I was playing. Since the game is run part server side and part locally things like this happen where they aren't on the same page.

The problem is more that there are things that appear on the map that shouldn't. Like water appears on the map, but sometimes it is a boundary and sometimes it isn't, but they both look the same. It'd be better if it only appeared when it was a boundary because it is annoying guessing if you can go certain ways or not. Maybe some people think of this as additional exploration, but I didn't care for it personally.

So now my Marauder is level 50 and still in Hard Core in Act 2 Ruthless. Got a bit bored, so I switched around from 1h + Shield into 2h with Flicker instead of the Glacial Hammer. Now he does 2.5 k damage per second, and jumps all over the screen constantly just murdering mobs in 1 hit and looking really silly while doing. The downside is that he is rather vulnerable and it is rather unstable with all the lag I have too. There is no way this will work in the end game I think, so I`ll just have to switch it back around later on.

If anyone wants to have a bit of fun before D3 beta there's a glitch atm with totems+remote mines to exploit you just need a 3 link at the least, remote mines+totem support gem+ice spear on an ice wizard will cause havoc as there is no limit to the number of totems up at once it's kind of ridiculous.

I've been playing shadow. But the main problem is that cleave, ground slam, leap slam and sweep don't work with claws or daggers, so it's really lacking any meaningful aoe the way most people are playing it.

I'm personally playing a full casting shadow, cos his passive tree doesn't look to bad for spell casting and it's working ok, but yeah I'm surprised more people aren't doing that, claws and daggers look really lackluster atm when aoe is still king.

What if I want to use an overlay? The minimap is something that can definitely be improved. Especially in a beta, the answer shouldn't be "you can do this instead"

As far as I have heard, the map-feature was something thrown together fast a year ago. They are working on improvements.

I use trap of fire as my AoE

dont know at higher lvls though i only get to lvl 10 or so with my shadow.

Well shit. I lost my Shadow in the Cavern of Anger. I had decided to ditch all my lightning and fire resist in favor of more cold for Mervy and well I ran into the lighting bitch down there a few sparks and GG. I had like 50% lightning resist before I had switched too .

I'm thinking about starting a Trap-Shadow next I always did like Trapsins in Diablo2 so maybe I'll like it here too. But from what I've seen which is just up to the end of act 1 the traps don't drop to often, I have found Fire trap and Freeze Mine* lost my fire trap with my Shadow although.

Yea that's how I've been playing it, altho I use a ranger still because I have personal issues lol so I'll deal with the loss of stats and passives for it. It's like D&D, I'm a LvL 10 Ranger, LvL 1 Shadow

I honestly thought traps were quite underwhelming. I haven't played all that much with them yet, but the cooldown was long and the damage low. Maybe you guys will have more success, I got frustrated with them pretty quickly.

Traps do more damage over time. You are supposed to play hit and run with them.

First time playing this game was the public stress test during the weekend. It was pretty fun, even though I only got to level 10; I hope it doesn't get repetitive like Diablo II (which I always quit before completing act II--because I got bored with it).
Does anyone have any Idea when this is supposed to come out?

well traps are nice not so much for when they blow up but because they set on fire anyone that comes across so if you put them in a line towards you they are mostly dead when they get there.

combine that with phase run so you can get out of nasty situations and take isolated bosses

im playing with claws , the direct damage is not so good as my hammer templar and you have to play "smarter" cleaning casters first and not getting surrounded.

for me Phase Run + Dual Strike is the shit for the shadow and everything you can get to control spaces will fit nice , but you should not get surrounded and exploit the +speed of phase run (you can improve speed with some passives too)

Ice mine? that sounds great hope i get one soon!

Edit: I cant wait to get Flicker Strike too , think it would fit nice.

Question: Someone leveled up the Ethereal knives gem? is it any good at higher lvls because right now it feels underwhelming...
