I'm most likely going to try a Chaos Inoculation with a shield that gives a ton of energy shield bonuses and grab all the +energy shield and +shield bonuses around him while capping crit damage on a dagger. Has anyone tried Puncture yet? I didn't get a chance to grab that skill and I feel it would be great. I also feel you have to carry a bow as the Shadow because there are so many bosses and mini-bosses that you just don't want to get near. Question: Does Energy shield take bonuses from Armor? I think I heard somewhere that it doesn't.

Yes you need bow for change , but only if you dony wanna use 1h+ shield , if you use 1h + shield IMO you donthave to change for bow at bosses ( i dont have to ) Try to find or buy flasks that give you evasion, armor or run speed when you are under effect of flask.. dunno thats it.. Oh and you need also phase run for critical situations , for run away...

Well fuck. I made it to the lower prison no problem, even killed the False God. So I find Chatters and begin kiting him and throwing fire traps. All is going well hes near dead I hit him and hes got NO red left in his bar. My fire trap misses doesn't go off my next 3 arrows are misses and BAM frozen and dead. Seriously.

Also, is there anywhere I can figure out the freaking skill tree? It's really intimidating, I don't even know where to start. I'm a templar. My girl friend is interested in the witch.

The more people play D3 (and tell how dumb they find it anyway) the more I'm rooting for PoE. =D The 0.9.10 patch is almost ready, and contains (among dozens of other changes) the following major features: -At least five new player-designed Unique items. -Increased the difficulty of Cruel, Ruthless and Merciless by adjusting monster damage and pack sizes. -If you want to compare an item to one you have equipped, press Alt while hovering over the item and it will display your equipped one for comparison. -You can now make your party public by giving it a name on the party screen. Players can browse public parties associated with a town by clicking the Notice Board in town or by using the social screen. For example, if you need help with Merveil, you might name your party "Help with Merveil". Players then see it on the list and join it to help you out. You can make it private again or rename it if your situation changes. -Short-duration timed loot allocation (see this old thread for our thoughts on it). In multiplayer instances, certain items (magic, rare, unique, currency and gems) are now allocated to a random nearby player for a short duration, during which time only that player may pick them up. This duration is increased by the time it would take the player to run to the item. Note that the allocation time is short enough that players must still pay close attention to what items drop in combat and to take them immediately if they want them. We're expecting to deploy 0.9.10 late next week, but that might change if other large features are ready in time and can be included. Edit: Huehue, finally got my gf convinced that this must be one of the coolest games ever, if any of you guys got a key left over for a greater purpose, gimme a shout please. <3

I play this hame hardcore .. like 10 h every day , first 3 days.. then some more , and its really good game. But then in like 38 lv in HC on cruel i just get bored with game.. Passive skill tree its very good idea for PvE , but in other side.. IMO its impossible to balance this game in PvP with this multiple possible build.. its impossible..to balance PvP well. There is to much options for stuns in the game .. and maby one or two options to get out of stun etc This game will be big succes in PvE and co-op , but IMO there is no future for pvp in this game. But we will se , im waitng for new patch then i see what it change in game ![]()

I would say that the balance will be determined more by the active skills, than the passive. Having a lot of passive damage is fine and all, but to some extend you need the active skills to stun the opponent to even get close to them. (have you played cutthroat?). The passive skill tree is essential in determining how many hits you can take before you die and that balance is important for how the game will feel in pvp. However, it is a lot easier to just focus on the active skills and ensure enough of a buffer for damage taken in the defensive skills, than trying to micromanage ias/+dps/mana etc.

It took forever to clear areas without a reliable AoE I had trap of fire and Ethereal Knives but those didn't clear places fast enough. Well fuck. I actually leeched chaos with a shadow that I thought had a pretty spanking build. He was gettign around with just zipping around with whirling blades, then killing stuff with lightning strike, which gave him pretty spectacular aoe. And the way that weapon elemental damage is overpowered atm, it seemed like also one of the best single target options, despite also having good aoe. I don't know what he was doing defensively, if he was going evasion, ES/Evasion, pure ES, or armour or whatever, I suspect he will be armour+evasion+hp going into templar to grab catalyze. But yeah, I guess it makes sense to just build everything with weapon elemental damage when thats clearly the overpowered build atm. On another note, I'm a bit sceptical about them increasing difficulty even more, the problem is not that the game is too easy, it's that weapon elemental damage is retardedly efficient compared to other forms of dps. By making mobs even harder than now it will just drive everyone to doing weapon elemental damage builds since it will be the only build efficient enough to let you really tank up enough to not instantly die on meeting a group of champion ranged dudes.

They have already stated that weapon elemental damage is one of the things they need more balance-feedback on before they find a way for Avatar of Fire to return. They have buffed it a little more than what was needed, but it was weak before, so I think they have at least identified a range for the sweet-spot

Aof is just one (fairly strong) variation of builds that were taking advantage of the fact that weapon elemental damage was much easier to build towards than physical damage. Quite a few people I've spoken to are of the opinion that Aof wasn't even the strongest of them, with good eq there were builds that had similar dps to aof, but were defensively much stronger (since they could actually resist cold). And now with those extra 20% weapon elemental damage passives those have become huge.
