lets assume the player doesn't drop any 10ex+ value items of course it will still depend a lot on RNG but what kinda time frame? has there been any players who have done something like this and publicized it?

Question is why would you need all that currency? Grinding maps got me probably half an exalt an hour (super conservative) in my experience. R.evo might say something about selling HC runs of dom, but don't listen to him! I never had to farm for currency as long as I was committed to chaining maps non stop and doing un-id chaos recipe (R.evo will also say don't do the recipe).

But actually just being in the top of the HC ladder early in league is extremely profitable in itself, because the gear you find is better than what 99% of players are finding themselves, you can also start selling all the maps that you're not interested in while they're still valuable, as well as doing various services for a high fee (I could imagine there being a big market for that this league). I played a lot this game and supported it, but I'm out until Wilson will change his mentality or will sell PoE to other developers. But surprised someone still play this game. Maybe, like many others, I await some new Diablo 2 clones, not much actracted to actual RPGs, I still would to play Diablo 2 with a bit better graphic and better multiplayer. Just my opinion.

Most efficient way would be to flip. Why you want 100 ex? For hh? With pure mapping expecting no unique drops I'd say 30c+/hr with random stats I've taken myself but that could be more or a bit less. I liked the forced part of labyrinth myself. It's nervous on expensive or first char and needs a pause from normal leveling but that's why I like it. I don't really know tho where you got that hyperbolic opinion - surely you don't expect PoE to be/stay as closest D2 clone possible and not expand on their own ideas.

If we're talking about a solo player I'd argue this can only be done by grinding (see the thread pahndah posted) or by finding some really, really valuable knowledge while choosing to ruin his own profit for the sake of secrecy. A tight-knit group will always be able to exploit these things more than an individual. Examples I can think of:
It should be noted that all the cartel cases were done in SC but odds are there are similar groups operating like this in Hardcore but they're a bit more hushhush about it. In the end cornering markets extremely fast and/or abusing mostly unknown mechanics and/or just being the usual dickwad are probably the smartest ways for getting phat bucks.

Flipping is also probably the most boring thing you can do sadly. You really need a goal or some reason for all the currency you're amassing to be worthwhile.

Couple that with items like div cards or semi good uniques which sell for something like 10c and you can get a couple hundred chaos pretty quickly. Flipping does earn you a lot of money but its boring as fuck and something I wouldnt waste my time on. If I see an opportunity to make some money I wont turn it down of course. Someone underselling a unique for instance. Or for example the exalts being at 24c in prophecy and shooting up to 50+ later in the league.

Any suggestions? http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1656032 http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1596467 The first seems better. First guide: To be extra tanky we use Efeeble in a blasphemy setup, because we want this curse to allways be in effect and curse all the mobs around you, because it is such an insane defensive Curse. 2nd guide no curses at all. Both shitbuilds. In a nutshell I'd go as far as arguing that if a support build that doesn't use Quill Rain to curse it's probably a shitbuild for pushing hard content fast. Damage in PoE is snapshotted and usually a support isn't the one to lead the pack because he both lacks a bit of mobility and part of his job is to deal with item drops. To properly apply curses in this scenario Blasphemy is really awkward. Granted this mindset probably only applies to the 1% of the 1% but I'll presume that when Alur asks about supports what he's looking for is that kind of mindset at least to a certain extent. In a nutshell the basic components if you want the highest possible combination of speed and safety (most popular support builds are only focused on the latter) are defensive auras and defensive & offensive curses that are applied as damn instant as possible (hence Quill Rain). The best source for this is probably Tieryal. This are his characters. Note smaller shit like Enfeeble/Warlords/Eleweakness as main curses, the latter without quality (!!!), the need to work on a 5L or even 4L quickly (6L goes to carries). He once made a thread on builds but this is a bit outdated at this point and it's prolly best to stalk his characters/reddit posts to get an idea of the reasons behind these choices. All of the above is completely irrelevant if you want to play a support purely for defense and not optimized for quick clearing and chaining maps and even then you need to work around your party and plan around it beforehand. In that case a build like the first one you linked is probably reasonable. If you want to go for the speed/efficiency path then a huge part in why someone like Havoc does so well is because someone like Tieryal just has a better support mindset for this task than most people.

Just this being TL and all I might as well present the elitist approach and potential that's out there. I genuinely think it's funny that all this information is out there, Tieryal is rather open (albeit sometimes a bit of a dick) about it and yet all people see is what an amazing grinder Havoc is. No doubt he's great but the difference between running with someone with the above approach compared to what most people think makes a great support is probably pretty huge. I'd be kinda into this myself but my major issue is that I don't think I put enough hours in to do this reliably over more than a week and wanting to play some but being unable to because a group you know isn't around sounds pretty miserable. =P
