I can't seem to find a confirmation either: But with it being the launch of 2.1 + a "named" challenge league, it's probably a 3 month league.

It's true that talisman looks like they put a lot of development into it for it to be less than a 3month (especially since didn't they say it was their most expensive one yet or w/e).

And yeah 2.1 would be awfully short in that scenario
i'm just so anti-hyped for it since they already announced 2.2... all I want are ascendancy classes

I don't really care much about the Talisman league itself, but I really am hyped for Blasphemy. Gonna use that for sure, love 'em lazy builds!

The Ascendency announcement really killed my hype for 2.1 as well, even though the new skills like contagion, blade spells, and blasphemy look pretty neat.

Obviously we need patch notes, but what do you guys think of this idea for talisman

Fairly high life, fairly high armor, max endurance charge 2handed staff cyclone.

Focus on crit and phys, pick up the extra curse, use windscream boots and a +1 curse ammy or that shitty +1 curse ring. So anyways, get to 4 curses.

Run the curses as auras, so 100% mana reserved.

Run enfeeble, assassin's mark, warlord's mark, temp chains

For main skill use something like cyclone, increased aoe, fortify, faster attacks, inc crit strikes, inc crit damage

Would probably also use a 4link with something like heavy strike, faser attacks, increased critical damage, increased critical strikes(I think I could stun/knockback lock most curse immune rares?)


This plan also synergizes with those weird staff nodes that generate charges. And the knockback would probably be nice on hardcore.


In my mind I see myself as this insanely tanky dude spinning around laying huge phys crits on everything

You forgot something. Either you would need to use Bloodmagic gem or you use EB (which might be a little far away).

I think it should work, even though I'd probably rather go 2h sword as I like the Maraketh sword. Then again, that's a completely different path and not really doable with the double curse nodes.

I kinda want to do a summoner, a super tanky animated guardian, golem that actually does damage, some specters and a buncha zombies. Or something like that.

I think Blasphemy plus curse nodes and temp chains + enfeeble is gonna be insane defense for summoners. Just depends on if you want to resign some auras. Tbh curse on hit always worked too, but not having to use it would mean less things to cast, and summoners have plenty of stuff to do IMO. Which is why I never really used the offerings.

I am 50% sure I'm doing a Bladefall build unless the spell feels different from how it looks. A physical damage spell that actually does AoE is something I've been wanting to try, Conc Effect on top of Added Fire, Hatred, and HoA should do some big damage amplification work and I hate multicursing because I'm a lazy s.o.b.

I'll be real sad if in the end it's just worse than Firestorm (not that that would be all that hard with how obscene that skill has become).

Firestorm is such a lag skill.... if you play solo it's barely playable. But even then, have some cast speed and inc duration nodes and you are dead due to causing tons of lag, especially with Beyond mod.

I second that. I was using it with vaal cyclone and cast on melee kill. I was often disconnecting because there was too much data to send to the server and it made me disconnect very often. I had to go back to predictive mode to don't disconnect everytime. I contacted the support about this, they are working on optimizing the transfer of data

For Cyclone I feel like hatred is too much damage to give up and because you are going crit it will freeze most mobs which is amazing for defence. If you pick up the reduced mana reserved near templar and use an alpha's howl you can fit in 3 curses alongside hatred.

I ran echo Firestorm with max duration nodes and never had much trouble with lag in predictive with single Beyond or Fracture/Beyond. Double Beyond is another story but that can crash any skill. You just can't run deterministic, which is fine with me because it really isn't that much better.

Idk, for me Lockstep is a nice improvement (since I always have 20-35 ms latency) so I never tried predictive for it. I also didn't know it changes the lag caused by skill effects.

I know what you mean, I don't want to give up hatred. But for hardcore, enfeeble and temp chains are just so, so strong. And then, for the build, assassin's mark is necessary. Which leaves warlords mark and while I could do manual cast enduring cry... I am lazy as shit.

So I don't really see an alternative. What you are suggesting just ends up being a completely different build, taking the reservation nodes. And then without warlords mark I will need life leech, which is another socket, and everything changes.

my hope is just to get crit/crit multi so high that I won't miss the hatred.

Shouldn't be hard to get decent enough dmg without hatred. But of course it will be less, though I think you are right that for HC 2 defensive curses are more useful.
