SC2 requires too much for my computer at the moment.. It's too laggy to ladder well/play custom games comfortably. I need some way to pass my time because I've recently had knee surgery and can't do much but game. Any suggestions?

My computer specs:

Tribes 2 is great and free, it'll run on basically anything since it came out in 2001. In the elder scrolls series the first 3 (well maybe not daggerfall) ought to run pretty well. Daggerfall and Arena are both free, Morrowind would probably be $10-$20. The myst series is pretty good as well, Best Buy sells the first 3 games in a package for $20, and since you have XP it wouldn't be a hassle to get them running. They're also sold on steam.

My laptop is kicking the bucket and I cant even run WC3 on it. That said, Altitude has been my go to game.

Both Counter-Strikes, Diablo 2, WarCraft 3 (still tons of fun to play), The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, StarWars: Empire at War.

A lot of the best rpgs ever made are old pc games. You should check out any infinity engine game, meaning Baldur's Gate 1-2, Planescape: Torment, and Icewind Dale 1-2. Fallout 1-2 are also very good. I've heard good things about other rpgs from the era as well (like arcanum or ultima games) but I haven't played them myself.

Get The Orange Box :D HL2 ep 1 and 2, + TF2 and Portal. I am able to run SC2 on low, and I still get a little lag in late game, but i can still manage to play HL on high. Really awesome games :D
