It makes everyone hate you really fast, you could play safe and never exceed 10-15 infamy, that way you'll always be generally safe. But as Ottoman's you'll just have to get used to Christians wanting to slap your shit.

Any time you take territory from someone else you will get nationalist revolts, if your stability is low you'll get fucking everything revolts and if the province is another religion you'll face religious zealots all the bloody time. Converting provinces is always a priority. You can mouse over the revolt risk in provinces to see what's causing it.

Here's my Steam screenshot thing. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198030791726/screenshots/ Also, is there any way to get rid of the black boxes above every unit? Have them show the coat of arms or something instead? It's really obnoxious.

ALWAYS try to stay at 3 stability, especially for larger empires. Secondly your infamy is at fucking ridiculous levels. Infamy increases revolt risk, going over the infamy limit will give everyone a Casus Belli vs. you (Dishonorable scum). I would suggest restarting, if you mouse over the infamy (red flag) you'll see X/33 or so, 33 is your infamy limit and you should NEVER exceed it in Divine Wind. You need to be more careful with expanding.

This is the best I've ever done and I don't want to have to start again. T________T EDIT: Ok, I give up. And here's why. This game is really hard. Any advice? I keep DYING.

This is the best I've ever done and I don't want to have to start again. T________T Everything is reversible but.. you aren't that far in, it will take longer to stabilize than it would take to just start a new game and do it better. You're playing it way too fast, if you play it like TW games you just fall apart after a while. Only quick way of fixing it would be using cheats, and that's not cool. Getting infamy down from 70 to acceptable levels can take 40 or so years, and even then everyone will hate your guts and odds are you'll be torn apart before you can get it down. Try playing as England, Spain, Portugal or France. They're more forgiving than the Ottoman's. But in short, keep your infamy down, stability up and don't start wars without a casus belli. Do I just let it sit? Why? What are the benefits? Edit: What is compete chance? Manpower is only used for soldiers. Having no manpower means you can't make new units or replenish damaged ones. Use as much army as you need, no need to keep manpower low if you can't support it. Compete chance is the chance a merchant has to take the spot of another in a center of trade. But note that at 60% you'll likely get competed away eventually anyway as you're facing quite a lot of different merchants. Infamy completely ruins compete chances, at 70 infamy you won't ever be able to send a merchant anywhere I believe. Refer to the wiki for specifics, there's an article on trade mechanics.

Do I just let it sit? Why? What are the benefits? Edit: What is compete chance? when you open your military tab you can see the maximum amount of units your country can support without having to pay more. So for example I had 31 Units with Muscowy because of an event that gives me 10 more units. But my maximum amount of units that I can properly support is 19. So I had to pay 66% more money for my soldiers upkeep. I am not saying that you should never go over the maximum of units but in the beginning you wont be able to support that for a long time. Regarding manpower you should actually never try to use it up. Your aim should be when you want to start a war that you have your maximum amount of units and the maximum amount of manpower. That way you are prepared for a long drawn out war because you can replenish hurt units or can build new ones if needed

I'd recommend lurking the official forums, or reading some AAR's (Prawnstar's "Audacity of Hope" is fantastic), and I can't stress how important the wiki is. There are also some good video let's plays worth checking out, seeing what others do give you a really good idea of what you should be focusing on. Bit like SC2 in that regard.

X_X EDIT: I read the Trade Leauge wiki, but it doesn't really offer much help. Sure, I know what a trade league does now, but I don't know how to use that information. Help!!
