but i got one question: why would i use the lp or mp version of his 360° throw. the dmg is far less than with hp, so what are the advantages? i already checked eventhubs, but didnt find any information about it.

Love helping a fellow hawk player. The Lp ver has the most range but more then that it leaves you closer to the opponent on wake up. This means you have way more options unlike HP throw that leaves you across the screen. With LP you have a safe jump cross up on most of the cast, which is a huge part of Hawks game. I like to either cross up with body press or just empty jump into another LP typhoon. You can also be fancy and jump straight up for a cross up Condor Dive. So I only use the HP typhoon when the damage is going to kill them or I cant get good mix ups after knockdown anyway.

Why not just go down to a big arcade in Singapore and talk to people and ask around for tips and help etc; i bet most people would be friendly and help you out with stuff down there ![]()

I can do the special moves like 99% and some simple combos 90% of the time in practice mode. And in a real match I punch hadokens instead of throwing rocks at them. (playing Cody atm). Which feels quite stupid. xD I also like to choke in round 3, when the enemy is on low health. Start to press buttons like crazy and get punished for free. But I am quite positive that practice is the only way to get over that stuff. Though not sure how much I am at a disadvantage for keyboard warrioring. (still not sure if I want to invest more money than the game cost me, for a fightstick that I'll probably only use for that one game.)

(still not sure if I want to invest more money than the game cost me, for a fightstick that I'll probably only use for that one game.) That was my dilemma when i bought my arcade stick for playing street fighter IV on PC. The stick is far more expensive than the game itself, is it really worth it ? After 1 year of playing with stick my anwser goes only one way : YES IT'S WORTH IT. I played tons of games with my arcade stick since, I could bring my stick to any friend's house that has a PC, PS3 or XBOX and plug my shit in and play with them. Now Super Street Fighter IV AE is out on PC too so I can't think that I made a bad decision. The release of fighting games on PC is pretty new, with BlazBlue and SFIV leading the way, I'm pretty sure, we'll see more in the future. An arcade stick definitly changes the way you play, all thoses games have been conceived to be played on arcade conditions. The global feeling + the better accuracy make it a must have for any player that want to play a fighting game in a not-too-casual level. Of course it's possible to master the keyboard or a regular controller. But they don't have the feeling an arcade stick produces.

Stick really only becomes such a big, useful thing when you start going to tournaments and local sessions, where you can't play always play keyboard / system controller of your choice. On the bright side, once you have a stick you can play DFO like a boss.

I heard SF4 PC leaderboards were pretty notoriously hacked, and that was on GFWL too.

Like all command throws, T. Hawk's works like this: light: most range, least damage medium: medium range, medium damage heavy: least range, most damage EX: somewhere inbetween medium and heavy (has different startup frames and invincibility frames) As a gief player, I find myself almost never using medium spd since it was the only spd that didn't receive any buffs, so I use l.spd for its [massive] range and h.spd up close for its [massive] damage.

On the bright side, once you have a stick you can play DFO like a boss. Tourneys at my locality let you use a 360 analog stick if you want. That being said, who would want to do that? lol. I only use the analog for online play and when I'm too lazy to get out the stick. Also, speaking of playing with shit controllers, I got into masters using only a trackpad (and still am using a trackpad). Perhaps an intermediate option (read: not $60+) is the madcatz fightpad. A better dpad and controller scheme for about $30 (not quite good as a stick, but a good intro tool as it is)
