here's the best example of E. Ryu in competitive gameplay that I could find.

lol I think he plays more like Ryu even though he has more of Akuma's moveset.

just thought about maybe adding a list of everybodies tl.net-, steam- and gfwl names and maybe their country/region to the steam group summary since you cannot join games through steam

that'd make the group a bit more practical than it is atm

That was a cool video.

Also, as a new player I can execute a good amount of combos in training mode but when I play vs a real opponent I struggle to do even the most basic ones. Any advice how to overcome this? Do I need to just mass games?

If you're having trouble hitconfirming, what you can do in training mode is set the dummy to random block and try to work on hitconfirming there.

In a real match, think about the combo that you want to do, and go in with the goal of actively looking to land it. It's much like learning to anti-air. Saying that "you know" you need to anti-air jumpins and actually concentrating on doing so until it becomes second nature are very different things. You'll get better at it over time, but it helps a ton if you're concentrating on it.

I speak from the HEART regarding this because I love training mode.

If you can't execute a specific combo at least 95% of the time in training mode, you won't be able to reliably execute the combo in a real match.

Some players go to the extreme. Juicebox (famous Abel player) wrote that he practices combos where he won't quit training mode unless he's able to perform a specific combo thirty times in a row. Abel has this notoriously difficult combo and I never seen Juicebox drop it in matches.

I actually had to give up my first main character, Rufus, because I just could not master his st. LK to st. HP link. I can get a "groove" and get it 10 times in a row, but I never can get it over 80% in training mode. In a real match, I never reliably got it and my Rufus was terrible as a result.

CAn someone please explain to me how the ultra-fast air Cannon Spike is done with Cammy?? I use a Genesis style controller for 360 but maybe it is only possible with the stick. Watch this video to see what I mean:

he keeps doing the jumping cannon spike but hes only like 1 inch off the ground i can never seem to get that to work? Is it just done really fast or is there something im not getting? I can only do them once im like halfway through my jump...

You're talking about the cannon strike (dive kick). In SSF4 you could execute it at any height, but in SSF4AE they added a height restriction for non-EX cannon strikes. You need to be at about shoulder-level to be able to cannon strike now. EX cannon strike can still be done at any height.

If you still don't know how to do it, the technique is called Tiger-Kneeing or TKing.
What you have to do is basically do the joystick/dpad part of a special input, then jump, and then press the required buttons.

So for a TK cannon spike you'd basically do:

down, down-back, back, up + KK

Seth can get half of evil ryu's health with a jumpin and no bars

Also, if Seth lands a c.lk/lp, it ends up being ->c.mp XX l.magic legs every time, 1/5 health every time

Hey can anyone tell me if there is a easy way to find out results and VODs for big tournaments without having to search everywhere. I'm more interested in the larger tournies and their top brackets. Browsing through SRK forums to find what you want is a bit tedious.

For example I know there are a series of tournies included in the EVO 2011 Tornament season including East Coast Throwdown 3, Shadowloo Showdown, CEO 2011, and Norcal Regionals 9. However if you go to http://evo2k.com/, it doesn't link you to any of the above mentioned tournaments (as far as I could find). In addition, each event has their own website which is often not updated with results/VODs/standings. For ECT 3, they don't even have their VODs up but luckily I found them on justin.tv. For Shadowloo Showdown, they have the results posted but not links to the VODs. I searched for them separately on youtube. CEO's VODs were up on TeamSpooky's channel. As linked above, NCR9's VODs are up on iplaywinners channel. If the information for everything was organized in one thread (maybe I'm missing it somewhere on SRK), it would be a lot easier to browse through.

woops didn't realize NCR9 was over lol

There are plenty of people online for the PC. I keep the fight request on and play arcade and haven't got through a single round without "A NEW WARRIOR HAS ENTERED THE RING"

Agreed, even in the Australia region their is always someone to fight, and even if you don't want to fight the same person twice just search a few more times until you find someone else.

Also anyone on aus feel free to hit me up for some Free wins, GFWL tag - Roscana

I don't know what it is but i decided i would play Ken tonight instead of rog and went 25-1 pretty good record if you ask me. I don't know though if this game has a lesser skill option to match people up but that's what i felt it was on all night for me.
Its not that Im lazy. Its that I just dont care.
