You know, all of the players out there that compete regularly in tournaments and show dedication are most supportive for each other and the American players. I got nothing but love for the international players, but it sickens me to my stomach to see these armchair conquistadors post how bad America will get bodied. These are the same pieces of fecal matter that said I'd get bodied in Australia. I broke top 10 and was one of two Americans that went, and I'm ass...that's a given. People act like Ricky Ortiz didn't get 2nd at evo last year above the rest of the international competition. You hating anti-scene building frauds are the main reason why I'll be cheering EG.Justin Wong on when he pops off against tokido in mvc3 at evo. EADYFF lolol
Agreed
EDIT: Browsing comments of the note, here's some thing I found in the comments
(Floe): i think the issue is our names arent dominant enough..i mean look they have THE BEAST..and MURDERFACE..and 2dGOD..we have.."prettyricky"...and "juicebox"..i think if your name was like Mike "Dickpuncher" Ross things would be much different

I know Seedogpoo does and he's super good. What's Floe's GFWL ID? This is also the first I've heard of Daigo playing on PC, can't see why he would do that when he prefers going to arcades. Seedogpoo is local player in my area.

Hi is it even possible to play SF4:AE on a laptop? I guess the keyboard will now be responsive enough..? Can you recommend me a usb controller then? And some guide for a beginner? How do the tripple action for example like in metsu hadoken with ryu?
PS Is there a way to see all posts? Im missing the ALL button..
|
Depends on the specs of your laptop
USB Controller? Just get a 360 fight pad.
Guides? They're littered all over this thread, and on youtube. Look up snoootch his tutorials are pretty good
triple action, you mean all 3 punches? You either hit all 3 punch buttons, or you hotkey an all 3 punch button.
ALL posts button doesn't exist past 50 page threads.

Yo, it's Ricky "The Fabulous One" Ortiz. PrettyRicky is old now. And LOL at Dickpuncher.
Does Mike really think he's ass or he just said that to be humble? I mean, jesus, breaking top 10 against this kind of competition? I'd say there are like 2 other people in good enough form in the U.S right now that could do that. He's at least top 5 in the U.S for sure.

Mike Ross always seems to downplay himself and his character. But in this case he's doing so to try to support his point about U.S. players not being free, etc.

Uh I already played Sabin and Marn who are 2 of the US's top players and I posted videos of those games in this thread. To say "as if any of you would play such players" is pretty insulting.

I'm not sure what you mean but you don't seem to realize how easy it is to get in games against top players if you know where to go. Playing online if you get lucky you'll run into them but if you live in a "fighting game hot spot" you can play against amazing players every week.
1. I consider myself a very average player. 2. I can play against players like Filipino Champ, John Choi, Vangief, every single week if I wanted to.
|
"there are enough decent players on pc" --> He's talking about PC, online, clearly.
|
Yeah I did know he was talking about PC. I'm not sure why I wrote that part. I'm guessing I was asking what he meant by "as if any of you would play such players" since the ranking system is not like the one in SC2 at all. Your rank has very little to do with who you get matched up with.

So Latif and Mr.SNK gave up their SBO spot to Mike Ross and Filipino Champ. I think I approve of this.

edit: what are ya'll sakura users using as frametraps? i've been using a lot of raw lk tatsu, but now ppl, but been getting beat by random s.mp's. must say though, enjoying the game a lot by literally playing sakura for the last few weeks (i blame this thread/ playing a schoolgirl as well in ah3)

Thank god Mr.ShitNKarried isn't repping America. I wanted Latif to go though. Dude was beast.
On the other hand I'm worried about FChamp. I have no doubt in his skills, but his professionalism is.... questionable.

Properly timed LK tatsu on their wakeup is a good tool because it beats crouchtechs and throws and even backdashes and some reversals like Hawk EX DP, Bison EX Psycho, beats any counter move (Juri taunt, Gouken parry, Fei/Cammy U2), and is 0 on block. You can cl.hp xx LK tatsu from there which will beat jump-aways and the slower jabs, I've seen Uryo do it but I think it loses to throw since you're both at neutral (and throw and cl.hp are both 3f). Then after that second LK tatsu is blocked he'll usually s.lp c.hp as a frametrap, and the distance works such that s.lp will stuff and outrange most throws.
I invented (haven't seen any other players use it anyway) a sorta handy frametrap that works against crouchtech mashers, which is c.mk xx LK tatsu. The LK tatsu hits late enough such that if it connects you can combo c.mk xx HP sho (distance dependent, but you can combo at any distance if the tatsu lands on counterhit).
Some more sorta handy frametraps: c.lp c.hp, c.lp c.mp, c.lp c.mk, s.lp c.hp (whiffs on some characters), s.lp c.mp, s.lp c.mk, cl.mp c.mp, cl.mp c.mk.

I saw a few translated vids of what ppl said on sbo stages in 3rd strike, and if it was meant to be hype then they suck at it bad. Heck, top Japanese players who came here said we got more way more hype in major than they do in top sbo matches.
It does look more hype with the setups they have tho.

On another note, Japan has about a billion Yun/Yang players, and we've seen how Dhalsim performs against them =/
