People can search for "more skilled"
You obviously won because you played ken (you lost to a yun amirite?), or more likely, are playing on pc where all the noobs are (real gamers use xbawks)
yea, pc gamers are well known for being more casual and less skilled than console gamers.
In regards to fighting games yes this is absolutely correct.
Except that a lot of pro players are starting to look at AE on PC and starting to play and or switch over. Mostly due to the fact that AE on PC is as close to Arcade perfect as release of the game. (due to arcade machines running the game on windows xp platform)
I know that TS Sabin and Floe and Marn, and I think even Diago regularly play on PC
Floe plays? I know Seedogpoo does and he's super good. What's Floe's GFWL ID? This is also the first I've heard of Daigo playing on PC, can't see why he would do that when he prefers going to arcades.
as if any of you would play such players ... there are enough decent players on pc, and thats the important part. who cares if the ultra pros arent ...
Uh I already played Sabin and Marn who are 2 of the US's top players and I posted videos of those games in this thread. To say "as if any of you would play such players" is pretty insulting.
I played daigo once in ssf4 when I was in china on xbl (I got raped obvi)

On the other hand I'm worried about FChamp. I have no doubt in his skills, but his professionalism is.... questionable.
because professionalism is whats gonna decide if they can even make it past first round
and honestly from the sbo footage i've seen, japs themselves get pretty fuckin rowdy/hype/bm(?) on the stage/mic. need to see more subs of the interviews, but i hear its pretty hilarious
I saw a few translated vids of what ppl said on sbo stages in 3rd strike, and if it was meant to be hype then they suck at it bad. Heck, top Japanese players who came here said we got more way more hype in major than they do in top sbo matches.
It does look more hype with the setups they have tho.
all the hype is in the after party yo

You can cl.hp xx LK tatsu from there which will beat jump-aways and the slower jabs, I've seen Uryo do it but I think it loses to throw since you're both at neutral (and throw and cl.hp are both 3f). Then after that second LK tatsu is blocked he'll usually s.lp c.hp as a frametrap, and the distance works such that s.lp will stuff and outrange most throws.
I invented (haven't seen any other players use it anyway) a sorta handy frametrap that works against crouchtech mashers, which is c.mk xx LK tatsu. The LK tatsu hits late enough such that if it connects you can combo c.mk xx HP sho (distance dependent, but you can combo at any distance if the tatsu lands on counterhit).
Some more sorta handy frametraps: c.lp c.hp, c.lp c.mp, c.lp c.mk, s.lp c.hp (whiffs on some characters), s.lp c.mp, s.lp c.mk, cl.mp c.mp, cl.mp c.mk.
mmmm sounds pretty good. its like after max range ch lk tatsu, i do like s.FP tatsu, s.lk HP sho/ex hurricane kick, although i've seen ppl do cl.mk(?) tatsu x2, s.jab c.mk HP sho or something. and what would be the optimal followup after a ex sho. not sure if its the online or i'm canceling at the wrong amount of hits, but can never get that fadc dash forward s.FP to nail :/
also a bummer when i do the "stay out of footsies range whiff punish" c.mk HP sho and the sho is too far away :/
There is no new technology, even Champ is screwed against Yuns. Mike will be fine, contrary to his beliefs Honda isn't 3-7 against everyone, and does just fine against Yun if you hold down back instead of being an idiot.

I thought he believes Honda is 2-8 against everyone.
And Mike holding downback? He'll get bored and crack!

Damn, them's harsh words. A qualifier is a qualifier IMHO. The location is just for the convenience of the local players. I don't care who's representing what other than the players themselves.
Justin/Marn (or whoever it was) taking Euro SBO quals in the past, Kanto area Japanese killers going out into the boonies to qualify--that's all cool to me.
Also to come back to Yun's imbalance ( 8-] ) there is a new YT video of daigo going for a 45 win streak.
first 19 matches are missing but you get 1 hour of daigo in action. Video quality is not that good though.
I can't believe how fast he builds meter. It's like he can do 4 ex moves per round and still have enough left to go for super :/ also what's up with daigo's unhuman reactions, his games are so flawless and unpredictable, must be a pain to be his opponent.
And what was he there for? Third Strike? Guilty Gear?
He was there for GG, Flash doesn't really play much 3s. That was the year where the world got to see his "tilt chin down and look at the stick as if it did something wrong" expression.

Thanks for the reply, I've been looking for a fighting stick but quickly noticed the prices and was like "errr, no thanks" and then heard those pads were also quite good. now I have the 360 controller and it's really frustrating with a d-pad that inaccurate.

If it's the pc version, just purchase SSF4AE it's not an expansion or dlc for SFIV. It's a standalone game.

You could still try the Tatsunoko vs Capcom stick for the Wii.
and paired with a proper adapter (http://mayflash.com/pc/pc045/pc045.htm) it works perfectly on my PC. can't find a shop for the adapter atm, i got it for 15€ from amazon.de
so you should end up with maybe 30-40€ for a fightstick that's basically the same as the 80€ SF4 fightsticks for 360/ps3
Holy crap I'm enjoying this game so much, just about a week in and I'm already at over 300 games played! (which to me is quite a bit, not to mention the hours I've spent in training mode and trials). I have a horrible 28% winrate but I learn so much against players who just destroy me that I kind of almost WANT to lose. I've been improving pretty rapidly in this short time though I know I have a looooong way to go to become a decent player.
I've just recently become a little demotivated by the fact that I'm probably causing everyone I'm playing against to play at a crappy framerate, though only like 2 people have complained so far. I have a pretty crappy laptop. Basically I bought the game with the assumption that it'd run as good as vanilla did (at lowest settings in vanilla I get about 100 FPS) but I only get 45-50 at best in AE on lowest settings (B grade). I don't mind playing it at this FPS really... I can't be too picky when PC AE is the only version I can play and this crappy laptop is the only machine I have to play it on. However, I was under the assumption that playing on fixed framerate (which is the mode everyone plays on) would only affect the framerate on my end, and my opponent who can maintain 60 FPS will play at 60 FPS. Am I wrong? How does the interaction between A grade and lower grade PCs work online?
TL;DR - Has anyone with an A grade PC tried playing against people with B and lower grade PCs online? Was the match noticeably laggier/at a lower framerate?
I'd appreciate an answer on this one since it'd be a pretty big bummer if I'm causing all my opponents to play at a lower framerate... My wins would mean a lot less. Though it's probably not gonna stop me from playing lol

I've only played against people with a lower grade PC when they're hosting and I only noticed when their framerate dropped. I'm not really sure if it makes a difference if the player with the lower grade PC is hosting or not though. That said, I've only noticed it when their framerate drops and not really if or when they have a steady, but lower, framerate. If you're EU I wouldn't mind testing it further.
