It's bullshit, that's what.
Seriously though, it looks like he just dashed on landing and just chilled at downback for a bit. I guess if you move forward more, you end up on the other side, which is typical.
edit2: on second thought I think it's likely not character specific. Maybe I should go look it up.
+ Show Spoiler [old text] +Without knowing anything about it, I'd suspect it may depend on the timing of the air attack on the way down and may be Dhalsim-only or at least specific to a few characters. Dhalsim has weird (large) hit/collision boxes in the air, particularly when getting hit or staggering, not to mention he's floaty. That's why he's often used in combo videos as a dummy, since some things only work on him. edit: and btw you don't need to develop any additional technology to beat Sim, jeebus.

This worked well, too bad Microsoft couldn't have suggested that when I asked them...

I'm fairly certain the part where dhalsim fell onto yang and landed in the front instead of behind is not character specific. In training mode if you set the dummy to jump you can walk under him and alter the fall path!
I think it was just like broz0rs said its a fake crossup gimmick that caught sim by surprise (not that yang needs it vs sim ;P)

First minipatch for PC incoming:
A title update for the PC release of Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition will be released very soon, either Tuesday evening or Wednesday morning. Here are the details from Capcom-Unity. We were originally going to have a small patch available for users today to manually replace as an interim fix until a proper title update could be rolled and internally tested. We apologize for the delay while a new plan is being rolled out.
We have created a full title update that's already with Microsoft being on track for expedited approval. Consequently, users won't have to manually do anything when the update goes live Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. It'll update automatically when you launch the game.
This title update will include the following fixes: - Support for keyboards and gaming devices that were not being recognized by the game - Patch allowing re-mapped keys - Changes Fixed Mode as the default graphic setting - DRM removed for non-Steam versions of the game - NVIDIA 3D Vision enhancements
Now if I wouldn't get "unable to join session" 4 out of 5 times I'd be the happiest person alive.

sick, they switched the default graphic setting to Fixed. having it default to Variable was the silliest thing

Dang, Yoga Mummy is so unsafe! Even on hit, if it's not low enough to the ground, you get punished for huge damage.

I've never been into fighters that much, I bought MVC:3 but I feel like when trying to get into fighting games it would be better to try street fighter as it only requires you to know one character and has less weird mechanics. My question is should I get the new version of SSF4 on PC, does it have a decent community?
Also are keyboard commands for fighting games good or should I hook up a 360 controller (don't have money at the moment for a fight pad)?
|
In my opinion it should be like this
If you already own the console, get the console version, and in order it should be 360 first, largets community.
For controllers, go TE > Fightpad/keyboard > 360 controller.
Thats at least how I see it. go with the highest in that order of what you have, unless you want to spend some money for the higher up on the list, this is my opinion but i would think most would agree.

Ill probably stick to PC as I would like to play a fighter but having to walk over to my TV just makes it not worth it . Thanks for the help I'll probably get the game tonight.

I decided to finally change my keyboard setup from arrow keys and asdfzxcv to what you guys suggested, with 789+ for punches and 456enter for kicks on the numpad. I'm a bit confused though with the directionals: asd and spacebar for up, is it really that good? I feel really uncomfortable on it and just want to make it wasd lol
|
Yes its the best format you can use for keyboard in my opinion. Problem with having up above the other directional keys is you have to move your fingers which will be an issue for tiger knee and grappler motions.
If you play a shoto it probably won't matter, and doing directional keys is fine but i'd rather do the "hitbox" style which is
A= left S= down D = right Space = up
Then set up yoru buttons either on the right side of yoru keyboard or using your numpad.

I'm considering to get the game mainly to play it online. I would get the pc version since I have no consoles, but I was wondering if there are enough SSF4 players in Europe or if I would barely be able to find any games? Maybe someone can give me some information. Also, is there any option to play with people from the US if I live in Europe?

Those are literally teh only moves i will do lol. Lariat is too punishable by everything, its only good if someones stupid enough to jump in on zangief Yo, you miss the memo? s.lk and s.mp are gdlk. Why you not use (more)? Also, cr.lp and cr.lk for combos and ticks, and cr.mk whiff into SPD, s.hk for anti-jump/poking/whiff SPD. c.mk doesn't even need to whiff to do an spd, it has enough recovery on it (if done close) to do a tick throw/ultra right after it, block or hit (try in training)

Even then, zangrief's normals aren't his dps, it's his throws

C.mk is arguably better if you whiff because a lot of players still think you're not in range for an SPD, so they either try to throw out a poke or just block. If the c.mk connects, not only is it punishable on hit, but players are more likely to jump away because they know they'd better call Kenny Loggins because they're in the danger zone.

Also, for whiff->spd I prefer s.roundhouse over c.mk (you gain even more ground)
