West coast so salty on twitter about Du's shenanigans. Even jwong throwing shade. I think it's silly. If you let a taunt get in your head then it's your fault. Du's said this himself, he taunts because there's no reason not to, and if it gives him any advantage then why the hell not. Stop getting put on tilt by the glasses lol
Is the FGC becoming like league's? ("please remove taunts from the game, i'm offended by everything!") When noobtards are leaving ranked games over a taunt and ruining the experience for the 4 other people on his team (and not 9 contrary to popular belief as the opposing 5 usually enjoy freelo), I guess I can see why. All it takes is one retard for a huge team disadvantage. If that retard happens to be your lane opponent, you can do teemo's attack > move > barrier > TAUNT (very important hehehaha) > killing attack or two/poison dots > boom instant 5v4 (especially if his jungler never helps him so they can blame each other).
People trash talk irl all the time, yet they can't do it in game? Du's reasoning stands, psych warfare is highly effective against those prone to it. I taunt when I'm ahead, and it makes it easier to close out the round/s if it puts the guy on tilt (play-to-win sorry). The trade-off is it leaves you completely open to a max punish, which is why you need to have a life lead so you can take it
Sometimes you just piss off the guy and he pulls out some rage tech that you haven't seen yet and was unable to adjust to, making you lose and turning it into a huge comeback for him (rare footage of Daigo actually angry...)
I mean yeah it's bm, and every match is an honorable chessfight of wills, but every badass getting prissy about taunts seems like a pretty disproportionate reaction. Every community's got it's code of honor to be rigid about, I guess.
I think it's fine sometimes the way Du does it and him doing it in high profile matches makes it that more exciting. Three times in a row in a match that was most likely already won is a bit excessive though.
Nuckledu is obviously the superior player between the two at the moment, but it isn't that long ago that Nuckledu was in a similar position to brent... he shouldn't get too cocky.
lol, JWong rocket launchering that kid in MK is really no different.
Point is, everybody has their own idea of what constitutes acceptable honor code. One might think 1 taunt per match is acceptable whereas another might think it's 3 or 9 or 0. It's too variable. Do we really need to enforce a standardization on what is considered acceptable for every facet of the game, which inevitably, not everyone is going to agree with, and let it get in the way of matches?
If everybody spends so much time and effort trying to write up and force rules upon everyone else for basically everything, they'll forget to just enjoy the game. I'm fine with just people not pausing every match (SC2 equipment problems lol)
I only didn't throw people in SF2 because the guy I was playing against was bigger than me.
Could be just west coast trying to protect one of their own. Gotta stand up for your buds. If you're at a bar and one of your friends starts a fight and gets punched in the face, your only recourse is to punch the face of his enemies back and start an all out brawl even though your dumbass friend started this stupid fight in the first place.
Street Grand Battle is a fairly sizable tournament held in France. They had some issues with the venue and were forced to relocate, and as a result a few people have had to cancel. The talent present will still be fairly high, and there should be some good matches.
The event officially starts Saturday the 21st of November, and goes until midnight on Sunday. The day was supposed to open with a FT10 showmatch between French player Luffy and Japanese player YBK|Kichiken, but according to this page Kichiken had to cancel.
The day kicks off proper with the 2v2 Team Tournament which begins at 1PM CET. The entire event will be streamed at http://www.hitbox.tv/unequalledmedia. Yes, that's a Hitbox account, and no I don't know what they were thinking.
Pro Fluke, a very flashy El Fuerte player and one of UK's top players
HumanBomb, a strong Sakura player though not quite at the level of Chris G
Tyrant, possibly the best Bison (Dictator) player in Europe
Problem X, a very strong C. Viper player from the UK
RMZ, a very impressive Yun and Decapre player from the UK
BX3.Veggey, because I am Norwegian and so is he, so suck it!
Semi-notables: ImStillDaDaddy (Up and coming Guile who almost deserves to be "properly" notable) Cuongster Phenom Keoma Will2Pac (French Viper player) Damascus Hurricane Infexious (Strong Hugo main)
Predictions: - Luffy takes it. Ryan Hart and GamerBee will fight for 2nd and 3rd place.

Fighting games could use more taunt-like moves that has a lot of startup/recovery and is embarrassing to get hit by, like Dudley's rose or Soul Caliber Yunsung's underleg sword strike (forgot what it was called). Chun-Li's taunt could hit and was comboable in some games I think. Guilty Gear's instant kills could fall under this category as well.
Or you could just play Rainbow Mika where every move is a rage-inducing taunt
