I can see how playing Gief would make things end up super boring for you since every character has to play keepaway, I played Gief for a long time and found the same. Then I switched to Sakura and the game is all about frametraps, fundamentals, execution, a lot more possibilities. You might also want to pick an execution-based character like Viper or Hakan, someone who can take a while to really figure out.

Mhhh Get your ass out of ranked! No seriously, ranked is poison to getting better. Playing random dudes only once who may be either way better or worse than you? Not gonna learn efficiently. Play endless and you will be able to learn matchups, because you dont just lose to one char and then you move on the next. Plus you will play a lot more against players of your own skill level, because players way better than you will mostly leave after a few games and players way worse - you leave or kick them.

I'm trying to make the game fun for myself by forcing myself to play a different character, something which I have never done before :p

You should definitely explore other characters to see whose game you like best. As a newcomer, this is something that I'm trying to do. It is just that I like Juri and Rose maybe a bit to much

I personally started playing with El Fuerte and enjoyed it thoroughly, partly because I love the character, partly because he's fun to play, partly because I didn't know how much effort it took to play him as effectively as other characters. I didn't switch characters for a long time.

My character roadmap in this game is crazy. Played Chun in 3S so started off with her, then moved to Rose, then Juri, but now I've found Sakura to be the character who's most rewarding of my mindgames. Rose is an exceptionally good beginner character though, probably one of the top 3 characters I'd recommend to someone just starting out. You should definitely stick with her if that playstyle suits you and just learn matchups.

On the other hand, I do play very carefully already. For instance I mostly take example to someone like Shiro instead of Haitani for my Makoto play, and Shiro is so patient sometimes people call him boring. Relying on normals and basic punishs is kinda acquired. But it's really saddening when you kinda feel good after a good period of endless against greater players than you are, and you end up losing a shit ton to random shoto characters in ranked. D: I don't know what I'm really missing to just tilt and get better. As I said earlier, people call me too predictable, but I don't know how to work on that.

Hopefully PC isn't desolate though =/ You're in France and on PC? Add me, I'm Aylear. I'll play Gen or Viper vs you. No idea about our respective skill levels, but if you're looking for endless and it turns out we're reasonably even in skill, we can play for a while.

Then I have days where I end up joining their game 4-5 times in a row, or asking to run it back in endless, and eventually you download that shit and fuck them up!

Fun fact: The reason why I gave Rose a chance was because I saw a pretty sick Guile-Rose pro-match before I bought the game. And when I bought the game, I still liked her and gave her a chance. However, I need to improve when to use Soul Reflects When I first touched the game 2 weeks ago (during a mini game conference/expo), I somehow chose Juri and I liked her. Played her for the rest of that weekend and I still like it. ___ I'm playing on PC, if anyone want to play with a noob I'm WindWolf2 on GFWL (If you have the game on Steam, add me there as well) __ Personally, I laughed when this happened to me.

I wish I could take credit for what I have just found on google, but I can't. Gives a lot of my online hate messages new meaning. The name started off when I went to The Runback last summer and played as NTRChesskid, which was shortened from what I had initially wanted to be called (Not the real chesskid, a shoutout to a chess stream I watch). Told Soniti I'd play as NTR Soniti to confuse people at Evo (ended up having to work, though). So I just took NTRYou as my online name for SF4 when I picked it up. I think I like the implications with what I just found out more, though. Hahahaha, oh man that's glorious. Edit: "This user has not yet set up their Steam Community profile. If you know them encourage him/her to set up their profile and join in on the gaming!" Just got it again :S I added you in the sf4 game via GFWL, though. Double Edit: You could try adding me on steam. I'm Spellsnare, atm.
