Just bought SFF:IV AE on Steam, and now I want to play the game and hopefully get better at it. Medium bots are a bit challenging for me :p Edit: Grats to 17k posts

I came from GuiltyGear to play SF4 and jesus, the whole cast is super boring, except Viper and a few others. She's like the only design I like. edit: I forgot to quote an earlier post.. sorry

Mhhh i was also stuck for a veeeeery long time. forget about fancy combos, focus on defense. what helped me was getting guile as 2nd char. you will learn how to play the game slowly, keep the right distance to your opponent, dont rely on stupid and unsave specials or random ultras but instead use normals and do stuff on reaction. also might wanna watch some pros on youtube (for example yogaflame24's channel). watch their input to get some knowledge of which direction to block on wakeup against common setups and how to tech throw attempts correctly.

I'm just having a hard time not being predictable. :/ Most of the people I practice with in Endless tend to say I'm too easy to read and I use the same pattern too much. ( and I play makoto / viper so I'm kind forced to mount an offence on the guy somewhat ) Defense doesn't feel bad. I can defend against an Ibuki vortex for pretty long and get everything right, but defending against people playing very random as Ken or Blanka is Hell.

i think a big part of learning to play makoto is learning not to kill yourself going in too hard. also she has some excellent normals

In the end, shes gonna go batshit, but she can often spend huge amounts of time just kinda chilling waiting for that one dash/tsumijishimajisishimujaji or whatever the fuck its called etc. Haitani often gets ultra before he does like anything at all aggressive. Cool char imo.
