Jwong should play his Adon, and I'm pretty sure Ricky was talking about picking up Yun and dropping Rufus. I have no idea what Dieminion should do, because he's so good with him but guile is an ass character.

I will say though that I don't think it's an issue of Rufus being a bad character so much as the fact that Justin and Ricky haven't really done anything new with the character in 2 years, while every other character has developed tons of new tech in that time frame, and they had 14 people practicing the matchup like crazy to beat them in the SF25 tournament.

I'm not good at this game, n while trying to practice Cammy's bnb combos, mainly the cr.lk, cr.lp., cr.lk into hk spiral arrow, the spiral arrow never comes out into the combo, it will at best only come out after, making it still blockable. However, if I only practice lets say cr.lp or cr.lk into hk.spiral arrow, then it always come out. Help? It is like a one-frame link or am I just not getting it? Thx!

He said he was finding Bison really fun to play. That would make me a very sad panda. I'd rather see him play literally any other character.

The only reason Justin Wong and Ricky Ortiz can win so consistently with Rufus, who honestly isn't that good, is because not too many people play the top tier characters in the US. Rufus, and ricky and justin by default, have hit a ceiling. Either character limits or lack of being pushed by US community, I'll put my money on character limits though. Think about it. In the US we have no real Akumas, one real Cammy, no real Fei, no real Adon, one Seth, no real Yuns, and three or so real Vipers. Jwong should play his Adon, and I'm pretty sure Ricky was talking about picking up Yun and dropping Rufus. I have no idea what Dieminion should do, because he's so good with him but guile is an ass character. From what I've seen, I'd put my money on the lack of dedication in the US community. The players are deluding themselves into thinking they lost because of their characters; in reality, the overall foreign play at the SF25th anniversary was very poor with a few exceptions. The lack of Akuma, Cammy, Fei, Adon, etc. representation only contributed to the extent that they were very unfamiliar with the matchups and the lack of knowledge resulted in game-ending mistakes. It doesn't help that almost all the top representation in terms of characters is carried out by character specialists, not players who switched merely to take advantage. The days of AE Yun are finished; you can't just pick up a top character and expect it to compensate for bad fundamentals.

A quarter of the population of Japan lives in the Greater Tokyo Area, and you can get everywhere by train within Tokyo in a couple hours maximum. In the US, the community is split between the east coast and the west coast, with some folks scattered around in between. It's tough to have the hardcore arcade training culture when your best competition is a five hour trip by plane away. It seems like American players don't consider that a major factor. There are no cries that they need to organize and research, but a lot of bitching that they lost because their characters were low-tier. :/ Besides the FGTV house, there really isn't a concentrated group of talent that can regularly practice. US players need to find a way to compensate for that.

You'll probably find a combo easier when you're not using chainables into specials. Try c.lk c.lp c.mp xx HK spiral arrow instead. It's more damage, you get a better idea of where your combo is falling apart, and it's an easier plink (if you're using plinking).

The only reason it's taken so long is that there's always been a new version with a rebalance on the horizon. I don't think the top tier in this game is even that dominant, but as koogy says, "Life is too short for bad matchups." The US definitely has a real Akuma though, he just doesn't travel ![]() If capcom openly talks about the possibility of a patch that usually means there will be a patch. Despite that I don't agree with what you said. Half the game is figuring out new ways to beat other characters. If you can't do it blame yourself, not your character.
