Any tips on how to have a faster transition? Training mode, over and over and over and over x1000000000 again. Unless you're practicing some hardcore matchup specific stuff, that much training mode isn't very useful for SF games. Generic versus experience will get you a lot more positive of a result.
The saying I was told is "if you can do it 8/10 times in training mode, you can do it 2/10 times in a real match." which I've found to be pretty accurate, at least when you first start learning a combo. This is even more true when you're making the controller -> stick transition.
edit: damn, maybe I'm just a slacker when it comes to grinding out execution. For some stuff I actually do better in regular matches than in training mode >.>
Edit2: rofl new title. Played in a tournament a few days ago, no videos sadly, but every person that lost to me was incredibly salty about yun. Even people that have never beaten me before AE xD

Can anyone here play Ken? I've been looking for some simple BnB's and ultra combos but I can't find any on shoryuken or eventhubs so I'd be very grateful if someone could share a few with me.

I went to NCR with a friend who had never seen Yun in SF4, only in 3s, and he was asking me why Yun is so powerful. "Why are his divekicks considered so strong, can't you DP them on reaction?" My response was: "You'll see, just watch some of these matches today." He doesn't play much SF4 but still plays ST, and during the Daigo-Champ exhibition match where Daigo used Ryu my friend said that a lot of the strategies of the matchup were reminiscent of ST, how it's like a chess match evolving in real time with both characters looking to eke out the tiniest life lead. Then when Daigo switched to Yun and utterly destroyed Champ, my friend looked over to me and said "wow, that's a bullshit character, I see what everyone is complaining about now."
Also at NCR I spoke with a couple of friends who mostly play Tekken but were there to mainly cheer on Ricky and help out Choi, and I made a comment about how some of the players are pretty clearly not on Ricky's level, but they're in the top 8 because they play Yun. One of my friends said that she doesn't play SF4, but even she can recognize how broken Yun is. It's that apparent.
I don't think I've ever seen such a unanimous message come from the fighting game community about character balance. I think it's possibly worse (or at least more exaggerated) than the outcry over vanilla Sagat.

SRK can be a mess at times but the Ken subforum there should have some stickies about combos. Ken's B&Bs are:
c.lp c.lp xx HP SRK c.lp s.lp c.mk xx HK Tatsu/EX Tatsu (EX is +1 on hit so good for a mixup) HP SRK FADC U1
New stuff in AE: c.lp s.lp c.hk c.mp c.mp c.hk (think this works, anyway) c.mp c.mp xx HP SRK (this should work too)

^except vanilla sagat was way more op than the twins. The twins are relatively squishy, while sagat was beefy. Sagat also had insane damage output and about a thousand ways to link into a 600 damage ultra. While the dive kick setups are nice, the twins still have trouble against grapplers, whereas sagat could easy zone them out with fireball spam and that stupid ass sagat kick.

Nooo, who messed with the thread title? D: And I'm already excited for the Shadowloo Showdown. But I hope Tokido won't play Yun exclusively and just "show" him once or twice -.-

I think that's the most important because it allows you to hit confirm ezpz and beat out tech/dp mashers after jump in. The c.lp also sets-up Ken's kara grab (f.mk > grab) really nicely if they block.

Thanks excalibur and broz0rs!

also try practicing against the CPU, hitting a moving target, as stupid as the CPU is, helps a lot. there's things like distance to the opponent, distance to corner, etc. that might affect whatever combo you're doing.
you should only increase your practice time if you think it's fun, otherwise you'll lose concentration and practice won't be effective at all

Only 30 bucks on steam now :O (with 10% discount if you already have SF4) and the release is the same day as the start of my next LAN!

I would love to see a list of grapplers that are giving the twins trouble in AE. And by "trouble" I do mean actual trouble and not "if you play the matchup properly you can finally go 5:5 with Yun."

Hey guys just asking for some help
on Juri how come its so hard for me to combo - c.lk , s.lk , c.lk xx pin wheel??? the pin wheel either doesn't come out or comes out as s.lk
everyone is saying this combo should be the easiest one.. I can never do it but can do:
c.lk , c.lk , s.lp , c.mk xx pinwheel almost 100%
also whats the trick to doing:
c.lp, c.lp, clp. c.lk xx headbutt on balrog?? i can do the 2x lp one easy but if I go for 3 lp's to hitconfirm the headbutt dosen't come out.. im assuming it's the same reason why I can't do the simple Juri BnB...
I've tried all diff timings, but can't get them to come out! (for both balrog and juri combos)
EDIT:: i've tried looking this up on SRK etc.. but what exactly is a target combo?

Assuming you are doing special move inputs properly, the most likely issue is that you are chaining your shorts instead of linking them.

Wow lame, I have SF4 and they didn't give me a 10% discount (I got it for 29.99 anyways since I bought a 4 pack with some friends)
Fuck thats frustrating..
PS: This title is much more suiting
Stay salty, while I go play Yun when its out on PC lol, I don't even care if they DO put in a patch, I just like Yun's move list the most. Haters gonna hate.

10% discount and 4-Pack discount aren't supposed to stack

ssf4ae pc is now only 29,99 € (or 22,50 for 4pack) on steam.
is it worth playing on pc? or in other words, are there cheaters/hackers?

If you're playing on PC I wouldn't worry about cheaters so much as I would worry about people who run the game on crappy PCs using a variable framerate and therefore slowing the game down.

Does anyone know if the PC version supports windowed mode? If it does I will most likely buy it.

EDIT:: i've tried looking this up on SRK etc.. but what exactly is a target combo? You can only cancel a normal into a special if the last normal in the combo was linked from the previous one. If it was chained instead, then the special won't come out.
If the pin wheel doesn't come out, either you chained the last lk or you didn't input the qcb+k correctly. If s.lk comes out, you probably didn't input the qcb+k fast enough. There was enough time for c.lk to fully recover before you hit the next lk button. When cancelling a normal into a special, you have to input the special really fast or the normal will recover and the special doesn't come out.
For that 2nd combo, s.lp can't be chained into c.mk. So if you linked those 2 properly, the pinwheel will come out. Also, c.mk lasts longer than c.lk, so you have a larger timing window to cancel into the special. These are probably the reasons why you can get that 2nd combo but not the 1st.
Same thing with the balrog combo, link the last normal AND cancel fast enough and you'll get the headbutt.
A target combo is a specific string of normals that are executed by chaining them together. They are character specific and not every character has them.
In case you need it, here are the definitions of cancels, links, and chains.
