So I recently bought myself a new TE stick and now have an old SE stick for PS3 (SFIV edition Madcatz) that has been used only twice, so it is in perfect condition, for sale. If anybody here is interested in buying it for ~40 + cost of shipping (prefer to ship just within the US lol, for obvious reasons) send me a PM.

I've got a seemingly stupid question but if I'm righthanded and I'm about to buy an arcadestick which one do I need? The one where the buttons are on the right side (right hand for buttons) and the stick is on the left side (left hand for stick), right?

a) Something like this:

b) AND NOT SOMETHING LIKE THIS:

Yes?

left hand for stick is normal for righthanded people

It honestly does not matter at all since both hands do something equally important. However if you really care, the stick on the left hand side is the norm for most people and I would get that regardless if you're left or right handed since most people have a stick like that. It'd be easier to borrow one or something if you play on a stick like that.

I tried to stop it but still got two answers. And now there are two questions still open and since I'm interested, kainzero and Zlasher are free to pm me.

And why is it only about Yun? Sometimes I get the feeling Yang is even stronger. May have something to do with that everyone and his mom play Yun and so there are a lot more weaker players. And I wish they would reduce their meter gain -.-

I feel Yang is stronger overall based on the fact that his dive kick is better and he has a stronger mix up game. However, Yun is really freaking easy to play as and is 10x more popular which is why there's a lot more whining about Yun. Playing a good Yun actually takes some skill so I expect the number of high placing Yuns to drop after a while.

Doesn't Yang's dive kick not cross up as well as Yun's? I think the trade off to this is that Yang's j. mk crosses up, while Yun's does not.

The problem with Yang is that you probably need a good five mix-ups to win, while a good Yun probably need about three or just two if he has super ready. Yun's combos does so much more damage

also if you go to an arcade that's not mexican, you can expect sticks on the left and buttons on the right

useful to think about if you ever plan on going to an arcade. like if you want to go to japan for vacation and play their players...

Yun is no match for my lariat spam :S

That, and how 2 heavy spds=half health missing

You say that, but Yun's pokes are pretty amazing and can keep Gief out surprisingly well. I play Gief and Sakura and although Yun couldn't really get all over me like he could playing Sak, it was still pretty rough trying to get in as Gief. The way Daigo was complaining about the Yun/Gief matchup a few months ago, you would have thought that all you have to do is mindlessly walk forward and win, but it's quite a struggle to beat a good Yun player.

is it just me or wouldn't standing forward and crouch forward own gief most of the time or at least force him to guess with a focus/lariat or green hand. (for both twins)

That and neutral jump fierce is awesome.

Gief is probably my most favorite and hatest matchup. Play lame all day is fun vs him for the sole reason that when gets in.. FML

You don't hear "snap the condom on"?
Isn't it ironic and selfish to say that God made man in his image, when God was made in man's image?

Important update to the thread: FakeSteve has been exposed as a fraud Sakura player by not using cl.hp xx lk tatsu c.hp xx EX tatsu even once in the replay I saw of him today beating an Oni player. Only c.lk s.lp c.mk xx hp sho bro? Color me disappointed =(

As a penalty for this blasphemy, your punishment is to upload a replay of you scoring a perfect using EX tatsu mixups.

Hey TL,
I just transitioned from a controller (dual shock 3) to a hori wireless arcade 3 stick (best I could find around here). I'm finding holding a stick to be much more comfortable, however as expected the transition is often frustrating since I need to make my muscle memory learn everything again. Any tips on how to have a faster transition?

Training mode, over and over and over and over x1000000000 again.

Its my 3rd day so far, I have been getting better however whenever I play against a guy online or one my friends my execution is way poorer than in practice mode. It almost feels like my back is against the wall and I basically can't hit what I want when I want yet. I'm practicing 2-3 hours a day, is that good enough or should I increase my practice time?

Make a set of BnB combos that you want to learn. Do each 30 times in a row without dropping them. Eventually you'll improve and can do things in matches, at that point, you should double your training.
