My question is, is the arcade version a standalone version or does it work like an expansion pack? So basically can I buy the arcade addition alone or do I have to have the first addition for it to work? Thanks for the help. Arcade edition is somewhat similar to an expansion pack, it's paid DLC on consoles. and pc there was no super, only arcade.

If you got the console version of SSF4, you could buy the expansion for AE on PSN/XBL for $15 I believe. However, I believe SSF4 AE (full game plus the expansion) is being sold at retail stores for $40, so if you got that one, you don't have to worry. The AE DLC is only applicable if you got SSF4 alone. PC is different story. There is no regular SSF4 for PC, so if you got it for the PC, chances are it's already the Arcade Edition.

She is so smooth in her moves and does decent damage ;D! ibuki is even more executional than makoto, but i guess you have a few more cheap wake-up options. Still i would recommend someone easier to start with unless you want to pull your hair out. Thanks for the help. assuming its for console as super wasnt on pc, if its the normal version and not arcade you can upgrade it through dlc, if its vanilla (just street fighter 4, not super) you cant upgrade(correct me if im wrong). i think that AE for pc is on sale at steam currently though so shouldnt be too expensive.

You sure that there is no regular edition because it doesn't specify arcade edition on it or anything special. It says limited edition on it but that's it.

Are you sure it's not just regular Streetfighter 4? There is no super only version for PC, only vanilla and arcade. you can't upgrade from vanilla to arcade. Easiest way to check - install it and on the splash screen it says super ssf4 arcade edition :p

+ Show Spoiler + Just to clarify, there are 4 versions of Street Fighter 4. In order, they are: -Street Fighter 4 (aka "vanilla SF4") -Super Street Fighter 4 (aka "Super") -Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition (aka "AE") -Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition v2012 (aka "AE 2012" or "v2012") AE 2012 is purely a free DLC add on to AE only and is not yet out on PC. Consoles have retail copies of the first 3 on the list. PC only has Vanilla SF4 and AE. Super was skipped entirely on PC. If you got Vanilla SF4 on PC by accident, you won't be able to upgrade to Super, AE, or AE 2012 at all unfortunately. It gets extremely confusing for newcomers thanks to the way Capcom keeps naming the iterations of their games. You could check the cover's side for the full title of the copy you got, or if you don't mind, you could post a picture of the box art. That would help us confirm which iteration you got for sure (unless of course your retailer messes around with game covers lol).

You get to feel it more in her more advanced combos and super jump cancels into U2. Also, I also agree that Ibuki isn't one of the best choices for starters, but if you're set on playing her over any other character, then don't feel obligated to switch ![]()

The list of good starting characters is subjective, but I'll give my opinion ![]() If you don't mind charge inputs, then Guile, Bison, Balrog, Chun-li, and Honda are excellent beginner characters. If you prefer motion inputs, you can try Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Cammy, Fei Long, and maybe even Rose. These aren't necessarily the easiest characters in the game, but they are great for building fundamentals. If you just want the pure easiest in the game, once again that's subjective, I believe the 3 easiest characters are Balrog, Guile, and Bison.

So most of what you guys went over my head ): I wish there was an abridged dictionary for all the terms~ (P.S I'm taking notes of various tutorial videos). lol sorry if we confused you. If you've been looking at various tutorial videos, you've probably stumbled upon VesperArcade's video tutorials: http://www.youtube.com/user/VesperArcade#g/c/744144A71C67D816 This is probably the best and most thorough video starting tutorial series out there. It'll pretty much tell you what a beginner (or any player really) needs to know for street fighter. Also, you can check the newbie saikyo dojo at shoryuken.com: http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?forums/newbie-saikyo-dojo.52/ Lots of the stickied threads' info is old but still applicable so check that out. You can check shoryuken.com's individual character forums for more in depth character stuff. Their wiki is only useful for frame data though so I wouldn't suggest looking through there until you have an idea of how frame data works.
