In the end its just about personal preference, but if you do pick up a stick it will still require you to practice a ton to be able to do some of the harder combos. As for what stick to get it just depends what you're willing to pay for, bear in mind that as with anything you get what you pay for. i found it not to be worth bothering with a cheap stick and went straight for a hori vx sa, which is pretty much the same as a madcatz te in a different case. Good sticks are pretty much any that has sanwa or semitsu parts, madcatz TE, hori vx sa/VLX , qanba, eightarc also razer is currently developing an arcade stick with sanwa parts but its still in testing phase so probably wont be out untill later next year.

(I've only really found one website) I'm looking to get one, but I want to make an informed decision. I found a thread on SRK, but it doesn't seem like it has much information regarding the differences between different types of sticks and parts. This seems like the best place on TL to ask about this, so here I am. :p If anyone can help, I'll be grateful. Thanks! Personally i would go with the Hori RAP VX-SA (xbox version) over the Madkatz TE any day. The Hori stick has all Sanwa parts which is the high standard, and it is 30 dollars cheaper. I own both a TE and the RAP and I strongly prefer the RAP. Here it is on amazon, where its the cheapest. Prices do change frequently though, the most expensive it will be is 140 and the cheapest ive seen it is 120. Good luck! You say you have one though, so I'm hoping you know, haha. :p Yes it does, im fairly confident all sticks for the xbox, and ps3 work on the pc unless for some reason its wireless.

I also realized I have no idea how to play the Cammy vs Guile matchup. I mostly just tried to stand outside of backfist range while working him into the corner. Divekick pressure seems so hard to do because flashkick blows up any non crossup air attacks, and it doesn't seem like Guile has to do much other than hold downback and react to me. Also, I can't ex arrow or ultra through booms cuz those booms recover so fast (I know it's possible but I don't have the reactions). Anybody have any advice on this matchup?

I did hear something like this but my HRAP3 works perfectly fine. bought it during sale, I think some stuff are kinda...bugged. Akuma's j.mk kept missing (training mode, kept doing it and kept missing. I have the game for console and it never misses). I didn't find that many good connection bars as I did previously on SF4 vanilla ![]() Waiting til christmas passes so my cousin can get me a Qanba Q4 with standard shipping and not express.

The joystick is just better from what I have read. some people use "hitboxes" which are essentially keyboards. some people even whine about how they are unfair. just try out what you like and then use it

Makoto is all about patience, pressure and capitalizing when you get a chance. Just slowly walk forward, block a lot and when you get your chance jump or dash in and start destroying.

I mean I hope they improve some of those quirks so it's not "unfair". There's a lot of weird things that are incredibly advantageous that you can only do with the hitbox.

Also, the lay out is kind of like a keyboard, but its a completely different feel.

I'm asking because I have a PS3 as well and might buy the PS3 version instead of PC I would suggest getting the PS3 version if you want to play seriously. Some reasons: 1.) PC version has not yet been updated with V2012. ETA is Q1 2012 (my guess is late-Feb to March, because if it was coming out in Jan they probably would have said so). Console versions have had v2012 since a week ago while the arcade versions have had them since two weeks ago. If you want to play the latest version with the latest balance, you need to get it on the consoles. 2.) if you want to eventually graduate to tournament play or even local casual play (highly suggested), you will need to get use to using a stick/pad. Unless you want to buy a hitbox (I suggest not), you will want to get use to playing on a stick/pad. You won't look good lugging your keyboard to a local event, but it would probably be funny as hell. 3.) Competition is generally better on the consoles than on PC (generally being very loosely used) 4.) Capcom does not like to support their PC customers

I can't believe I forgot that consoles have local casual play >.< I should really set my eyes outside the PC world more often
