I thought Honda was ALWAYS good
Honda was mid tier in vanilla, high tier in Super, low-mid tier in AE (damage nerfed, AA headbutt nerfed, ultra2 nerfed) and back to mid tier in 2012 (damage nerf still in, ultra2 still useless, AA headbutt is back but not as good as in Super).
Still tournament-viable in AE2012, but nowhere near the top.
Also, I was at the arcade and learned to properly block, punish that fire up-move ken does (I grab) and how to super and ultra (I also learned that block-breaking move, really good!)

What should I learn next or focus on now?
People have found reasons to hate on Sakura??? I get hate for C. Viper's BK cross-ups, and playing super lame with Rose. Seriously, what does Sakura have?

I think it's just people who can't block that get mad because her combos much longer than the average combo. Similar to why I get salty towards Fuerte players, I can block his shit and get hit a lot which makes me angry for some reason. Even though i know when i get hit it doesn't do much damage.

Hey, I'm not sure where else to ask, but does anyone know where I can read about/research arcade sticks, or where you can buy them online? (I've only really found one website) I'm looking to get one, but I want to make an informed decision. I found a thread on SRK, but it doesn't seem like it has much information regarding the differences between different types of sticks and parts.
This seems like the best place on TL to ask about this, so here I am. :p

Also, on sticks: Madcatz TE are the golden standard with sanwa parts, and costs lot too
Madcatz SE is pretty cheap, cheap parts, but moddable with sanwa parts. Recommended for the beginner.
Hori sticks vary. General rule of thumb on sticks: >$100 msrp, it's a good stick, otherwise it's cheap. If you are a beginner/casual gamer, get a cheap one (or fightpad). As a decent online tourney player, I win games using the analog stick (so close to winning money on the original sf4 gamebattles tourney )

If anyone can help, I'll be grateful.
Thanks!
mad catz TE is a great stick that many use. the high end stick right now that many progamers are switching to right now is the eightarc though (doesent cost much more either) . if you want best value for money just get the hori EX2 or for a bit more the madcatz wwe brawl stick, its great for a first stick and should be well enough for you until you decide that you actually want to invest 150$ in a high end one
Is there any hope for me to get to be decent at this game without getting a stick? I realize a lot of people do fine with pads but even doing trials as Bison some of the combos take me like 15 minutes to do because moves just will not come out. I think when I do the charge back then forward+attack moves I always hit up or down on the way from back to forward. Really aggravating and spending $100+ on a stick just seems like the epitome of tryhard. Do any characters work particularly well with a pad?

Analog controller and zangief, those 270 motions are pretty easy. The only problem I have with using the analog controller is that using the triggers is delayed. The charge errors you are doing seem to be from lack of experience. I know I don't have that problem when playing as balrog.
