it looks pretty cool from what they showed, although not too hitman-ish so I can see why people who liked the first few games would be upset.
goooood demo, I'm a big fan, starting with the 2nd-on. And I can say this looks really good, we understand hes on the run now, but from what the video show's the game still rewards stealth. hopefully they balance it though.
Wow, no one posting here. Today is gonna be huge announcement to Hitman, I expect release date and specs and that sort of things. I hope it is not going to be about multiplayer t.t
"Hitman: Absolution releases world-wide on November 20th 2012. And if you pre-order the game, you’ll get the Hitman: Sniper Challenge instantly (code redeemable from May 15th on PS3 and Xbox360, August 1st on PC through Steam).
That's a pretty good gameplay trailer...a few moments were a bit unbelievable in regards to police incompetence but overall it was pretty well done (the guy who was told to check an area but intentionally left one blind spot alone, or those guys who went to check for the guy who was thrown down a hole along with the other guy who was hit by a bust...but they never report back). Oh well, minor issues anyways...Hitman is one of a kind it will be great to play again
Apparently the latest Hitman Absolution trailer, which features our protagonist taking down a group of bad guys, has been causing some controversy. Not because the bad guys are dressed up in fetishised nun outfits (what with certain anime, Lady Gaga, and all the nunsploitation flicks of the past, when was the last time someone in the mainstream cared about religious sacrilege?), but because the bad guys aren't guys - they're women.
I think all the outrage, while well-intentioned, is ridiculous. It's a double standard if our society thinks it's OK for a bunch of men to be killed but not women. This is the same kind of 19th century thinking when women's rights groups campaigned for shorter working hours for women. Only decades later, after the new feminist movements of the 1960s, did they realise what a mistake that was.
The only outrage I feel is at how bad these "saint" assassins are at, well, assassinating. What with all the Navy SEAL / special ops craze as of late, you'd think the people who made the trailer would have the "saints" use actual professional tactics like stacking up, taking cover, overwatch, whatever. Realism aside, though, it did look pretty cool. Very stylised, but unfortunately not much substance. It was entertaining to watch but does disappoint me because it seems that maybe this game will focus more on action elements than stealth.
Hitman is one of my favourite franchises and this one looks to be the best one so far. The only thing about it that I'm not sure about, is the power to see through walls via your "hitman-sense" o.o
Pumped for this. Has it already been two months since the last post? Wow.
Looks like a great game. I like open world games a ton but sometimes the sandbox genre is a little silly. Hitman sort of combines open world with missions to make it exciting/purposeful and this installment looks to be great :D
I loved playing all the old hitmans, but I really hope they say true to there old games, or atleast make it a lot like Hitman Blood Money, I lost so many hours of my life to it.
I am seriously pissed off that they are going to kill diana in absolution and by doing that they are doing destroying core characters that has already been established from previous games from hit man 1 to blood money .Here's hoping that she wasn't killed in a professional way and hitman isn't just a walking terminator only needing money to function in life .I have hope though the word absolution means to be forgiven . Old hitman going after agency for killing diana ? would be a great way to end the game .
I don't know how much other people are following the development of the game, but HUGE news.
DAVID BATESON IS RETURNING AS AGENT 47!!!
"After a long search IO Interactive are pleased to unveil that the voice of Agent 47 will once again be acted by David Bateson who has been the voice of Hitman since the year 2000 with the seminal PC release Codename 47. Alongside Bateson, William Mapother (star of hit TV series LOST) has performed the motion capture work for Agent 47 which was recorded at Giant Studios.
Speaking about the decision to return to Bateson after the studio earlier declared he wouldn’t be the voice of 47 in Hitman: Absolution, Brand Director Jon Brooke said “IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”
Both Bateson and Mapother now join a long list of talent announced for the game including Marsha Thomason, Keith Carradine, Vivica Fox and Powers Boothe. "
I guess IOI finally realized just how much getting rid of Bateson was taking away from the game and decided to bring him back!
first reviews are quite mixed, 7.5 gamespot, 9/10 two ps3 mags i dont know and good ol' pc gamer gave it a devestating 6X/100, calling it linear action game, bad missions goals (like opening doors instead of killing a target) and generally untrue to what made hitman big. also the pc performance is bad they say, often running at <20 fps.
so while this is of course concerning, i'm not sure if that's the certain death to hitman absolution (at least on pc), because same reviewer guy gave max payne 3 an even worse 5X/100, and i personally enjoyed that game big time.

There is some controversy about that review from other users who have played the game, saying that he misrepresented several things and flat out got many things wrong in the review. From Gameranx:
I have reviewed this game, although I would like to remain anonymous. I can honestly say that the comments Mr Francis has made about the game are entirely false. Assassinations are NOT cutscenes any more than they are in Blood Money (IE an animation once the 'accident' is set up or whatever is the way it's always been – it's not a cutscene because you're either choosing to stick around and watch – in full control – or you're already making your escape or whatever, NEVER is control taken away from you).
As for checkpoints THEY ONLY EVEN EXIST ON LOW DIFFICULTY. Meaning this reviewer played it through on easy or medium and since he claims to be an experienced Hitman player, he should know that these difficulty levels were not made for him. He has essentially failed to do the job he has been paid to do.
The 'pointless' objectives (open a door) refers to exiting the level once the hit has been complete. YOU HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO EXIT THE LEVEL ONCE THE HIT WAS COMPLETE.
Some of the levels are small, sure, but THERE ARE FIFTY OF THEM.
The AI is fantastic as always. 47 is the catalyst. Mix him with the AI in any way and entertaining (and often unexpected) things happen. Just as they always have, but way, way better than ever before. The story is, admittedly, quite poor, but it's also irrelevant. It ties one playground to the next by a thin thread and that's all that matters.
Do not listen to Tom Francis. He has failed to do his job and speaking as a fellow reviewer, in my opinion deserves to be severely scolded for it, both by the general gaming public, who he has failedf, by the developer and publisher of the game, who he has failed, and by the company he works for, who he has failed. Once you lot get to play the game, you will immediately see how FACTUALLY incorrect this review is. It's chock-full of out and out lies.
But how much can you read into an anonymous review . I'd say we should just wait till the game comes out. I also enjoyed Max Payne 3, I really don't think it was worth 55%, that's far too low. I feel like Tom Francis has a very strict and specific view of how the game should be, and if its not that, then he grades it very low.
This is why you don't listen to reviews. You can either watch the game while its being streamed, youtube playthroughs, or you can purchase the game yourself and you be the judge.
99% of the time reviewers wouldn't know a good game if it bit them in the ass.

A guy who gave Max Payne 3 a 55% isn't to be trusted anyway. I'm glad I didn't miss playing that game, a real experience. Probably an 80-85% "play once" game.
Have to admit, I'm a bit pumped for some more Hitman action.
