I think around 30-40 points you should get your first rl If you keep a small cargo fleet to just move res around you won't need to be a big turtle :D and then you can just invest all your points into mines
After that just keep getting some df when you feel you need it (play with the sim to see if your profitable or not too)

Ok cool, thanks :-) main reason why I want to turtle is I don't want to spend time fleetsaving etc.
By the way, in terms of colonies, are there some general tips you have? E.g. the spread, locations, and how many colonies would you want and when do you start with colonies? Also would you want to focus on turtle there too?

Well If your 100% sure you want to just mine and turtle, I would suggest putting many colonies together in one galaxy (above 3) And just having 1 planet as a turtle (possibly 2 planets but no more) rest should have minimum defense to just protect some cargos and your daily res production.
If your wanting to fleet, I suggest you spread your colonies out, at least 70 system gap between them, and then its your choice if you want to spreed into the other galaxies or try to focus in just one. Each has their benefits as well.
I also suggest that within your first 4 colonies that you have some place where you can do an in system deployment between 2 of your own planets, since this is the safest way to fs (you can also deplo from any colony to another, just costs more fuel to do so) Again this is a bigger tip for raiders/fleeters as miners just have cargos so their fuel cost is not worth considering.

Yea I was wondering about colonies too. Gonna have my colony ship by the end of the day so I have positions 5,7,9 for possible deployment.
The thing is i played really long time ago then it was position 5 the best you can get. I had colonies with 250-290 fields. Is it the same or its changed?

I think it did change .. now it's 7-10 or something. 4-5-6 are not good anymore ~~

According to the wiki, position 8 is the best, with a maximum of 246 fields.

Hey, if anyone has some spare probes, may I be able to get a little information on two planets caught in my eye?

Thank you!
EDIT: To the potential spy--send me the info through OGame's PM system. I just realized other people can check our site by going to the link on our alliance page.

i dont see how this would steal time away from starcraft

Just applied. Should be fun

Should I be looking near my system for potential targets? Or is it better to check the high scores for players who have maybe 1/5 to 3/5 of my points?
I find that the cons of checking it through the high scores is that you never know if they are in vacation mode or not. But it's easier to find a certain group of people--easier to find players with no alliances too.
On the other hand, the galaxy view does not show you much until you actually use your deuterium to check. Of course, this method will let you find players closer to you so you can arrive there faster.
Which way do you guys prefer?

Galaxy view. More important than vmode or not is activity. If you don't check activity, you're likely to raid someone who's online, which would be a total waste.

Anyone who have tried using anti-game on chromium in ubuntu? Can't make it too work =/ Seems like an important thing to have before raiding...

I'm not even sure if Chromium allows scripts. I know for sure IE, Firefox, and Chrome allow them.

Don'tk now how I can get myself in the clan, but if you could add me, I'm going under the username Nocteo.

We can't add people, you have to apply. At the top of the screen search Liquid and click the letter thingy, it'll allow you to apply.
As for macro style, that'd be to get pure mines early on and no fleet, then switching to ships. Turtling is fine, just remember it slows your growth. Only turtle as much as needed (I'll go over this sometime when I get to it).

We ARE the largest guild, and ranked top 20 (not really an achievement, but yeah).
How long has Jupiter been up? Some people seem like they're so far ahead...
