Jupiter started April 19th, but in ogame points accelerate rapidly, so its not a huge surprise they are that many points ahead. All ranks will fluctuate wildly for now, they'll settle in after 2 weeks or so.

Just applied to the alliance in Jupiter after playing for about an hour, looking forward to this timesink, haha, doesn't take hours of thought (minecraft) and you can tab out and still make progress! I applied under the name Mal

Hahaha, I know what you mean. Sitting here, waiting for minerals isn't that entertaining, but if you're really that desperate to make progress, than open up another tab, watch a series in the NASL, than go back to ogame, xD

Probably you dont have any ships yet, so send him a message tell him your on and active and not a profitable target.

Spend as much resources as you can to minimize his profit/your losses.
If you do this constantly he probably will stop attacking you since it just wont yield enough profit.

Im new myself, but thats what i read you should do in that case.

edit: And to make you even more of a bad target you can at a certain point start building some defenses. Someone said you probably should start between 30-40 points, which seems to be true.
Im atm at 36 points and will soon start building a few rocket launcher.

Well at this point you should invest in robotics+shipyard so you can build a rocket launcher if needed. The best defence though is to have as little resources as possible so people don't have a reason to attack you.

Next time, instead of sending the vague message that your attacker won't profit from you, say it straightforward.

"I'm online and spending my resources right now. You will waste a lot of deuterium to come here and raid ~250 metal." That sends a much better message.

Also, if you plan on saving those resources up, you can spend it on a resource structure, facility, or research, and cancel its progress by clicking the red X on the picture. You will get a 100% refund for it.

Be cautious about when the attack is coming, and when you will cancel it. I usually wait until the attack countdown hits 4-5 minutes until I hide my resources. Don't make the same mistake I did a long time ago of starting a 10 minute building when an attack is 20 minutes away. I was safe, but the upgrade actually went through. I needed to wait for more resources (which would have been a shorter wait if I didn't even try to hide my resources in the first place) to upgrade what I actually wanted to upgrade.

Do not hide your resources via building ships or building defenses, because you will NOT get a refund if you cancel those.

Got my friends to start playing this 6 years ago in Computer Science class. Would have a row of computers with o-game on it. The programming was so basic back then (pun intended). Starting it up again + applying to the alliance. Shocked I didnt think of starting something like this myself, ogame was good times. Nothing like a "friend" sending a fleet of ships across a galaxy, taking a week to even get to your home planet, just for the lols.

The tutorial should help you figure out the basic opener so yes.

Anyway, because it's a speed universe (and because I'm more interested in BW & SC2) I'm not playing there anymore. But if you want to play a macro-style that has a somewhat viable self-sustainance in all three fields (macro, ships, researches), you may contact me. (former top50 in a "recent" universe / top150 in an old uni back when I was a noob)

But in general: Have some ships at the ready to attack inactive players. They're one heck of a fridge. Oh and you *need* to get there first so think about your combustion/impulsion tech if you choose that path!

Ah I remember this game from ages ago... the days when I grinded browser games like tribalwars and such.. in the end for me it was a total waste of time, even more so than other games
