I was just looking at this, is it worth getting? So cheap. What kind of game is it?
It's a game where you control one warrior in an army, and you'll fight battles with many other players online. I personally haven't played it yet, but my friend has logged 600 hours into it already. So might be a great game. Not my cup of tea though.

Ahh. So it's not the kind of thing you can play single player? It says "sandbox" which suggested to me that it might have a strong single player component.

You can play it single player. There is a lot to do in the game outside of just battles that you don't see at all when you play online. The game has a lot of rpg elements as well.

You are a lord and control an army and conquer the world essentially. You can swear allegiance to one of the current nations or start your own. There are tons of mods out there to improve the UI and gameplay.
I've only played vanilla and warband personally, but you might want to pick up fire and sword instead though (half the price of warband). It is an era later and has guns and stuff. Wouldn't recommend the complete pack seeing as all three of the games are essentially the same thing (warband and vanilla especially, fire and sword is an era later at least).

I've never even tried the multiplayer and it is definitely possible to enjoy single player.

the single player in warband is very elaborate and you assemble your own armies and fight for lords and have all the RPG stuff. And then when you powerful enough, you can even delacre your own nation, i think.

You can declare your own nation when you capture a castle. If you do this when you're weak the entire world will declare war on you though and take it back

Well, guess I'm buying it then. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Combat is better in the witcher 2 then the witcher 1 by far. I still laugh at the combat in witcher 1.
Yeah, I'm playing through the first Witcher game right now and the combat is definitely pretty shit. Only thing keeping me interested is the story really. It does have an interesting world and lore imo.
Also, I caved in and got M&B: Warband. Dunno when I will get around to it but the GoT mod for it looks pretty cool.

I second this. CONSTANT cut scenes and terrible combat. One of the only games I ever bought that I couldn't force myself to finish.

Anyone played Pixel Piracy? Looks interesting, thinking about buying it.

I have yet to have a good "Early access" experience. I'd sooner kickstarter a game that looks promising, then only play it at release. Spending any time playing a half-done game in anticipation of its fully-done state would only truly work for the best games in the world. That's a pretty steep gamble.
That said, I haven't tried Pixel Piracy, and still fangirl a little bit when I see the Jinro

Just got Papers Please for $3 from the flash sale.Seems like a good deal.
What do you all think of Sins of a Solar Empire, Don't Starve, and Shadowrun Returns?
I'm personally hoping that Total War games get a nicer discount later, as well as the Age of Empires/Mythology HD games.

Don't Starve is quite fun, its a nice survival/scavenging game, its quite difficult too, which is good imo, im a big fan of rogue-likes and difficult games. Or i could just be bad at it. Shadowrun Returns, well, i enjoyed it, but quickly got bored of constantly flipping through text. There is a lot of story in the game, the combat is quite good, but im not as patient as i used to be, and there's a shit tonne of reading in the game. Also, Shadowrun has a great modding community behind it, so you can really extend the life of the game if you like the core of the experience. That being said, for me its hard to recommend Shadowrun, its good, but really not for everyone.
And ive been looking at Sins all day, the Star Trek Armada 3 mod, looks fucking awesome. I played ALOT of Armada 1 and 2 as a kid, and havent played Sins since the 1st one. Really debating getting right now since i love Star Trek, and i love RTS/4x games, seems like a no brainer really, but im tight on money, fuck my life!

I would absolutely recommend....if only there was better controller support. Last time i played, I had some difficulties getting my controller to work, and when i did, there's no default keybinds, as in, your going to have to manually configure your controller to what suits you best. Like if you want shooting to be on triggers, or maybe the X button or something. Not a huge deal, but to me it was just trial and error with keybinds until i found the proper config for jumping/shooting/movement etc... Oh, and no matter what you can only use the mouse for navigating the menu screens, and since this is a game where you die alot, like every 5 mins, your going to always be taking your hands off the controller, in order to click a new character, or click options or start a new run. Maybe im being too picky, its a great game, but its the little things that make me hesitant to recommend. But, if you dont mind some the headaches i mentioned, its an awesome game.

Wait, is everyone getting cards for voting and "singing" for a team? My friend got 2 cards already, I don't have any yet ;_;

Yeah i also got 2 cards so far. Supposedly every 3 votes for community choice will give you a card, as well as buying some games will also yield cards.
