I think speed counts as a brand (but long blades of speed are sorta weird?) the +hunger was probably the most worrying part about that sword though. | ||

Hunger+ is meaningless, especially since it only barely increases your hunger rate and you can always just not have the thing equipped while you rest up. If you have ever run out of food while not worshipping Elyvilon you are doing something very seriously wrong in how you play, and even with Ely you usually don't have problems unless you are a centaur (or maybe spriggan I guess, I've not done Sp of Ely). | ||

Decided to get drunk tonight and play some HoN and DCSS. Going to alternate between games. I've come up with a pretty solid set of rules to follow while crawling the dungeon and eating stone soup that can turn any session into drunk fun times. Rules 1. Have one drink every time you move down a floor (unless you are stair dancing monsters). This applies to the various branches as well. 2. Have one drink every time you kill a unique or a ghost. 3. Have one drink every time you level up. Two drinks if it is a stat boosting level (every third level) 4. Have one drink if you enter to the Abyss. (banished or by free will) 5. Have one drink if you leave the Abyss. 6. Have one drink if you change religions. 8. Have two drinks when you choose a religion for the first time. 9. Have two drinks when you collect a rune 10. If you fall down a shaft, have one drink for every level descended. (These drinks are separate from rule #1). 11. Finish your drink if you die. Have fun! | ||

Okawaru is in general really good for ranged combat since Finesse is batshit crazy good for ranged combat and Heroism is good as always. | ||

anyways, I've come to the conclusion that I don't like half the races or starting backgrounds or gods, and am playing another TeAE^Veh with the goal of getting the Hell runes, if not more. My current char found 7 potions of heal wounds, a distortion dagger, and a +5,+5 ring of slaying all on the first 2 levels of the dungeon. Pretty sweet. oh and meph cloud, hahah holy crap, and now the book of wizardry for summon elemental and haste later. I'm not even done with D7 and I'm loaded. and I've got mutation pots ID'd and one cure mut stashed and eustachio comes with a wand of hasting and a +2 leather armour of MR. is this real life LOL so I find an pre-lair labyrinth and find the minotaur pretty quickly. he grabs a wand - zaps me - it's poly other - I get lvl 1 repulsion field. And the spellbooks gave me blink too. I hate to jinx it but this game has been unreal. | ||

Also, I'd try unarmed for CeHu as you have hooves for extra dmg and okawaru blessing thingies work great with them. | ||

CAO and CDO are the online servers. We could watch if you played on them. I've learned a lot since I started using CAO and ##crawl. Slings might be the best ranged option in the game - train them up and once Oka starts gifting you ammo you should start mowing everything down. I dunno about armour though, training a -2 apt up to 11 just for 1-2 points of AC feels inefficient. Even with MDA you're only getting 3 AC at lvl ~13. | ||
