I actually thought this game was hard first time when i played on normal, think i died like once on hard when i went down the magic path instead. Overall very good game, ending was kind of dissapointing though. Which one? >.> <.<

If you get stunned for even ½ a second you can potentially get oneshotted in the back. My build on insane was improved quen and extra 2 vigor from magic tree. Rest in swordsman favoring all survival talents. Did significantly better than the full magic spec I did on hard.

The dwarven Inn also had some noticeable slowdown but not too bad. For my second playthrough I'm using the mod that lets you block how much you want. Gonna try playing without Quen, will probably make the combat more fun because the first time there was no point in using block IMO.

I'm currently using the same build after trying full magic and full swordsmanship and it seems to be the most efficient by far. I am also wondering if putting 2 early points in improved bombs can be effective, on paper it looks good but I don't know if this would be viable late game.

Sure feels long when you're running around like a headless chicken spamming Q though. Sure but then you're only using Quen. By the end of the game I had like 6-8 point in the Sign tree even though I had pretty much everything I wanted from the Sword tree, but when you're using Quen it limits your ability to use the other signs. I know it's a balance thing but I don't think it's that great of a solution.

But otherwise, I haven't had a problem going magic-tree (on insane). Only thing that holds me back is a random bug that negates all keyboard + mouse commands ![]()

I didn't notice much changing regarding the ending depending on your choices. I've played it from both sides and loaded to do all the different end choices. It's still kind of "poff game over" after the other great chapters. Halfway through my third playthrough now but I don't think my opinion will change.
