AMD Phenom x6 1090T @ 3.4Ghz HIS 6950 2Gb 8Gb DDR3 corsair SSD Samsung 126Gb Something must be fucked up, because I'm getting 60+ fps with nothing close to those specs on high. The problem is with AMD I think. A couple of days ago there was someone else who had problems with a decent pc, don't think there is any fix I think. No. I have an AMD X4 955 A friend of mine has an AMD X4 955 and a 560 Ti, and the game runs at a smooth 60 FPS. Another friend with a 1090T and the same GPU runs at 15-20 FPS. Oddly, he can also stream at 720p without a framerate drop. Still 15-20 FPS. The first friend had framerate issues as well, and he fixed his by downloading Nvidia beta drivers. Didn't work for the other guy. Might as well try it, though. It depends on wether you are CPU or GPU bottlenecked. In my case NVidia drivers wouldn't fix the low FPS because i'm CPU bound. My GPU is good enough to run the game but it's not taking good advantage of my 6 cores. Core 1 is on 90%, all the others idle around 20-30% load. To see if you are GPU or CPU bound, press Alt-F ingame and look at the bottom left wether it says CPU or GPU. The developers are on it though: http://forums.station.sony.com/ps2/index.php?threads/quick-note-on-optimization.49152/
I also have the X4 955 and have low framerate. According to the ingame framerate counter, It's almost always the CPU bottlenecking me.

So any news about the european outfit? I joined it on miller, but so far we haven't done anything .
edit: great number 219 in queue... the only reason i joined miller (and NC) was because of the TL outfit, really disapointed that it's in fact inactive.

Would be nice if people would be online more but whenever i'm online it's 2-3 people online at most :-/

Fuck this game is fun. Even with my shitty setup and 10 fps, I was having a hell of a time just driving around in a tank, shooting stuff. One weird thing that happened, I tried to spawn a Scythe, and it spawned upside down. Then I got out and it exploded. I need to learn how to fly T_T

I don't know how you can possibly do anything with 10fps.

Just shoot into the middle of groups of enemies and you'll hit _something_. It's not as bad as it sounds. It's just a problem in close range infantry combat where the one with higher FPS always gets the first shot and with PS2s short TTK also the kill.

I beat Crysis and Crysis: Warhead on Delta with 10.
Just sayin'

AMD Phenom x6 1090T @ 3.4Ghz HIS 6950 2Gb 8Gb DDR3 corsair SSD Samsung 126Gb Make sure your drivers are updated. I know NVIDIA released a driver fix for a few chips a day after release, amd may have as well. TO ANYONE WHO IS HAVING PERFORMANCE ISSUES Please go into you user options folder and change your render distance and shadows. Your render distance will automatically be set to either -1.00000 or 9999.99. Do yourself a favor and set it to 1000. Change your Shadows Quality to 0. These two small things bumped my fps from 20 on low graphics to 40 on high. Going to follow your advice, but I cannot for the life of me find my Planetside 2 folder (technical ineptitude, go!). Could you help please? :D well i found the planetside two folder, but there is no user options folder, can anyone explan this for dummies please?
In the main game directory there is a "user options" txt file. Edit it with notepad or whatever then save.
I don't know how you discovered this, Beef Noodles, but thank you. Now in fights I have 20 FPS instead of 10

Minecraft is a different story and anything single player is fine since the game is played at your desired pace. But try getting into a firefight with 10fps against other players on multiplayer, frustrating and unbearable.
|
Turning shadow quality to 0 is essentially turning off shadows as opposed to it being low, easy fixin. I'm not sure why setting render distance to 1 in-game is read as 9999.0000 in the configuration though.

So my question is, if people from EU want to play, what do they have to do.
I like the game, but it sucks to be alone and die alone
|
Eh I wouldn't be too optimistic about optimizations for AMD. They've put plenty of optimizations in the game in the beta...but most of them only helped people with intel CPUs. I think I've gained like 7 fps in big fights total from august until now on the same hardware.

I did that for years because all I had to work with was a far subpar PC. I got really good at playing games while lagging lol.

Fun game, not sure if vanu on my server just sucks or something though, we never have air superiority, i hop into my scythe and get swarmed by 50 TR aircraft almost instantly. Hoping to unlock ATA missiles soon, or the upgraded MG, not sure which i should save for to make air battles easier.
Skyguards are trash, you can kill light air with them but libs tear them to pieces without you even being able to shoot back because of range restrictions, they also have to much HP if you ask me(libs)

I don't know if it's the weapons, or the downtimes and suprisingly fast time to kill, but I'm just not feeling it. And my hate for snipers is higher than ever...I just can't stand dying to people I can't see or evade, It feels like I'm rolling a die every now and then, to see if I randomly die. It might just be im sick of "Rightclick>leftclick" to kill games, I honestly can't stand ADS..I like it for long range burst fire, but otherwise it just makes the game feel like any other FPS when it comes to combat. I convince myself it's just the basic weapons you start with, but I don't know..
I also found out things you buy, even for SC is locked to one character. So if I ever change server, faction or whatnot I lose out on my whole investment. I'd love to spend a lil cash to see if other weapons or so makes it better but I'd hate for some friends to pop up and say "Ohai we play on this server!" or get an offer to join some outfit elsewhere and having to start from scratch.
I also have some curiously low FPS, I've tried various fixes, but still sitting on 20-25 fps in combat, dropping to sub 20 at worst. You'd think I would be able to avoid that with a spanking new 680 :l I assume combat would be alot more enjoyable and succesfull with 40+. I really want to like this game :l Maybe you are ADSing too much? I know that was one of my initial problems. I started off trying to firefight like CoD or BF3... holding ADS and aiming for the head at all times. Then Halo 4 came out and I took a break from PS2 to play that and when I came back to PS2 I tried just hip firing and found I was much much more successful.

I feel like the main reason why I can get a good KD in this game is because the average player is playing with low FPS, lol.
|
Core i5 3570K and Geforce GTX 560 (Windows 8), game runs smoothly for me.
I really like this game this far, for the epic battles I can take part in. Squad of enemy tanks attacking an installation, firing from the top of a hilly mountain at our tanks below. Our infantry lines firing each other too, and aircraft buzzing around. In another game, a massive armored convoy of tens and tens of players driving around the map.
I like it. --- If you are solo, auto-join a squad. It will help you.

I've been shopping around for a new computer recently, and was wondering if these specs would run Planetside 2.
i5-2400 3GHz 8GB RAM DDR3 (4GB + 4GB) AMD HD 6670

That graphics card is probably going to wreck your framerate. I would make a post in the Computer Build Resource Thread to get an idea of what you can get with your money. If you don't want to build a computer yourself then make sure to state that you have no desire to do so.
