Wait a second. I figured out something was wrong with the update because the game crashed (silly of me!) so went into Steam to verify cache integrity, and it wants me to redownload the whole game, I'll buy everyone a donut if it's not the old version because you know, you put your game on a distribution platform, you decide you dislike going through it to update, so you do your own launcher, but ignore the fact that a lot of the point of a distribution platform is for people to have their game updated and instead of just serving as a giant damn billboard. So the 4GB update turned into a 18GB download because Sony is such a great company that they must hire their technical staff straight out of a mental hospital.
And people were complaining about the 2GB update of Dota 2. If only Valve made an FPS... oh shit Valve please have my money (and babies). 2nd and last time Sony screws me up.
The developers repeatedly stated that you should validate your files through the launcher, not through steam because steam is causing some issues...
Well, anyways, good riddance then, i guess.

Am I the only one getting an error when I've finally downloaded the patch, and start launching the game? I get redirected to the sony webpage with an error.

I'm pretty cranky that they had to do this during EU afternoon on a freaking Saturday

Here's a tip: Don't do the validate game files on steam because that will cause steam to delete 4GB~ or so of important files that you will have to redownload and
MY LOVELY JACKHAMMER IS GETTING A BUFF SWEET!

I like how they're trying to fix spawn camping (or locking down an enemy base while you cap it), but it's not really going to work.

Warpgate ownership on all three continents were rotated. Woohoo

WELL. This has become unplayable for me. Stuttering all over the place, with framedrops from 40 down to 10 where I previously had 50++, even in areas with low population and around only few players. People in chat also saying they are getting lower framerates.
Nice "performance upgrade", Sony.
Also, the minimap colours have become unbearable. You cannot even adjust it properly anymore because the cap point and nameplate colours change as well while setting it.
It is unbelievable. There is no way they tested this patch before releasing it to the public. No way.

Those are the two things I'm having issues with right now too, but I'm hoping I'll adjust to the colors change. Also.. invincible players around a sunderer, there's no way to know!

Same for me. I had generally low FPS before but at least it was consistently low and i could get used to it. Now it fluctuates between good FPS and even worse FPS all the time, making it impossible to adapt.
The UI color changes are ok imho, in general i feel like a lot of stuff got a nice upgrade. Now if only i could actually play it properly...
UPDATE: The fluctuating FPS issue seems to have improved after i deleted the UserOptions.ini and did all changes from scratch with the new one as well as stayed on Fullscreen instead of Windowed Fullscreen (it doesn't work anyways). It's not the biggest improvement but i got 25+ FPS at the crown instead of 15-20, so it DID improve it for me. Now i just have to check if it really stays consistent and doesn't start fluctuating again.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Delete UserOptions.ini 2. Start game, log in. 3. Exit the game. 4. Go into the automatically created UserOptions.ini and do the usual FPS improvement settings: [Rendering] RenderDistance=1500.000000 OverallQuality=-1 ShadowQuality=0
[Terrain] RenderFlora=Off 5. Start the game again and set all the other stuff in game again, don't copy paste from the old ini file.

I can't figure out how to change the faction colors back to prepatch. If you select the empire specific, then things like enemy craft will get their empire color instead of being red to show they are enemy. If I put the enemy empires red, then cap points and map objectives all turn to red instead of showing which empire controls them.
FPS seems shot to hell as well, and we lost the audio beep when a missile is actively tracking your vehicle (in flight), got me shot down a couple of times. Some gun sounds seems different too, TR heavy default (CARV) seems to have a more quiet and fluid sound now than before.
Not really a good patch so far.

I dont know. Maybe im the only one who seems to have a general increase in performance....
25xp for killing somebody near a sundy is straight robbery though =(

Apparently, I missed the part where you get effort-points for shooting at aircraft.
I guess that will make up for my 1000 certs spent on a left burster when I'm not finding any goons in the air...

Can someone explain to me why this game doesnt have (buyable) dances? I mean the game has downtime when capping bases where having something to do or show off would be awesome. It would also be a stylish way to customize your character that would be noticable without lighting you up like a christmas tree in battle If Rymblomma cant have pretty pink armor at least let her moonwalk while capping bases!

Something I was liking was the custom colors. I made NC red, and Vanu hot pink. They both stand out well now and I'm still able to tell them apart. It's cool once you get used to it.

Yeh, I've been doing the same thing (except with TR red/NC pink) so that they're both obviously enemy but you can tell the cap point colours apart. I've then gone with green for friendlies because I like green.

hot pink clashed with charlie squad's color
can't decide what to make Vanu, but this bug where your guns fire blanks after using vehicles or mines is obnoxious.
