![]() Well, usually it's 35/35/30. Why do I always chose the weakest side? Probably because of the same reason I picked Zerg when Roaches had 3 range: Because I'm stupid :p

Probably because of the same reason I picked Zerg when Roaches had 3 range: Because I'm stupid :p Because of the whole you can make cross faction characters thing, the random guys without a good outfit probably started fourth factioning. It used to be 33/35/32, but now a certain percentage of people (about 3%) are jumping factions to the one that has the crown or something easily defendable like the eisa tech plant that they can farm certs on. Not that it matters for NC as we can farm any day of the week at any time. You just need to discard the notion that you`ll cap the map during primetime, as we have the shittiest warpgate placements on all 3 continents, and the lowest pop. Which is fine because the game has no metagame at the moment outside of Aircav zerging with daltons and zephers..

I'm off for now but I'll be back on a little later.

US East has its quirks now and then: some weird things like people/vehicles floating instead of going down the hill and the occasional lag (doesn't happen a lot and it's usually only for like 10-20 secs for me)

Yes time playing unlocks guns/gun mods but you will be perfectly fine playing without any of that. The fact its an mmofps actually helps cut down on the problem since when your going at it 50 vs 50 it doesn't matter as much if your gun is as good as you can make it or not. you will still contribute about as much as the next guy.

Lets give you a walkthrough. This is currently a vehicle heavy game. The default vehicles work, but have blatant upgrades not in line with the current "sidegrades" philosophy. Infantry plays alright without paying any money at all. The problem with infantry is currently that they exist only to be farmed by vehicles. You`d be best off finding biolabs or AMP stations that are contested by the enemy and staying indoors or on the towers at all times as your chosen infantry class. (best solo class is light assault by far). Lets say you decide to spent some money on the game, you could easily unlock the bare essentials without investing too much into it. Flying is decently challenging once you get into the advanced maneuvers. Tanks are fragile, but have a good tanky feel about them. Bare essentials for optimal play: ESF upgrades (Empire spesific fighter). These aircraft need their AA main barrel, and rocketpods (or AA missiles). Thats a lot of certs, but they can be brought for 1400 smedbux. HE(AT) lightning main barrel is another 700 smedbux as the default barrel is crap. nothing for the Main Battle Tanks as they start with a decent main barrel. Liberator needs a zepher. 700 smedbux, but nobody will drive for you so ignore the lib for now. Default weapons are very good on NC, but the other faction have semi auto snipers as default for their infiltrators however they aren`t really a class for teamplay. If you do want to guild up then there is the annihilator rocket launcher that targets both air and ground. Awesome for heavy assault teamplaying. 700 smedbux for that. MAXs need at least a secondary infantry or burster sidearm. 1400 smedbux for optimal MAX suit play. So grand total amount is: 4900 smedbux lets say you buy 5000 smedbux or station cash. This is currently 50 USD or something. About the same price of a new game to access most of the top of the line vehicle features without much effort put into it. There will probably be another double station cash event, eventually, if you decide to wait and get this for 25 real bucks instead. Guilding or joining an outfit is pretty cool. Kinda reminds me of vanilla wow in some respect. The game is pretty basic and straightforward, while also lacking a lot of tools to properly promote teamplay, but good people on vent or ts make it worth the while. An outfit will usually have "operations" (raids) at so and so days which allows you to plan ahead and spend your ingame time wisely. Theres not really much gametime needed for participating in such activities if you just stick to the basic classes like Heavy assault. 400 certs for nanoweave. Default shield is good, so regen rate can wait, and 330 ish for optimal weapon attachements. Thats a days farming worth ish.

My list for certs would be grab the essentials of either combat medic or heavy because they're useful in almost every situation. Vehicle resources go into sunderer and galaxy pulls for the squad to transport infantry and provide respawn. So all you need for vehicles really is AMS utility on the sunderer, anything else is bonus. A squad of heavies with rockets and combat medics rolling around in a sunderer take out almost everything cost efficiently if you play it right. All other pulls are situational. Saying that though, I'm a mosquito pilot, and mainly specialize in recon so what I said isn't the only way to go with it, just the cheapest. edit: back on now for invites. Purely for organised infantry play yes. Though you might want to add Mineguard to that sundie or itll die rather fast once you try to cap hostile bases. At any rate. I did mention infantry being rather well off without any money invested into them. Its just that infantry is rather limited when it comes to solo play. Which is why i recommended for him to stay inside biolabs and other larger facilities as basically the stock weapons for most vehicles are not on par with the ones you can buy.
