The AN94 is the strongest gun in theory but in practice it doesnt really work out that way.
You symthic guys <3. I've actually been re-inspired to use the AN94 by browsing their forums .
I'm afraid of whipping out my AN-94 because I don't know if I can maintain the same accuracy (currently it's around 29%) and I haven't touched it in almost a year. Theoretically, it would be the best weapon IF the second shot exactly places where the first shot hits the enemy. (I believe there is a 0.05 spread between the shots).
afaik the AN's special burst fire zeroes its first-shot recoil, but it still takes the spread hit.
With a hbar and stationary ads in burst, spread goes 0.0125 to 0.1125 and has no recoil, so the first bullet will go where you want it and the follow-up will have about the same accuracy as single-shot fire from a naked FAMAS/F2k. It's good, but not a true double-tap past like 50m.
I haven't looked through the files myself since I uninstalled, though, and there doesn't seem to be anything definitive and up-to-date on Symthic's site.

Yeah there are a lot of AN enthusiasts there :D. You play a lot of HC if i remember correctly, In HC AN94 is the shit.
@Phelix: Mortar killing a pilot is indeed a once in a liftime event considering how often it fails to kill a prone sniper with one shot. You can say what you want about BF3 but that game has the most awesome "WTF trololol" moments ever, even after so much playtime it still doesnt fail to deliver highly entertaining randomness. hahaha
BTW season2 of battlefield friends has started on youtube, if you dont know that parody series yet i suggest you to check it out.

Wooooooo! I love that series, thanks for letting us know.

If you dont play through the end of the round, yes you lose xp. Regardless of why you didnt finisht he round.
wow what a fucking dick, played a map for at least 30minutes and when we are about to win this fucker kicks me for no god damn reason. I barely had a positive score
I was on the diablo 3 forums and they compared the incompetence of the developers to that of BF3's.. the thread was closed before I asked him what he meant, but considering bf3 is one of my favourite multiplayer fps's I didn't know there was an issue with its devs. does anyone know what he meant?
Just delivering very little of the bigger and anticipated features. Instead, basically trying to replace all of this with their premium bullshit package. If you compare premium to the DLC for BF2 or BF2142, the BF3 ones are really damn overpriced, not to mention they hardly expand on what originally made the BF series so great.
It's basically broken promises, good features from older games in the series taken out and replaced with utter shit instead. Their shitty Origin platform and the late pull from Steam certainly didn't help wither when that piece of crap is still basiclly a pre-alpha version of what steam used to be 5 years ago.
There's lots of shit that's had BF vets become bittervets by now, too many to mention just here, but if you want I and others will surely dig some up for you.
So, I had the rare opportunity of getting a Multi Kill using a weapon such as the M16A3...to close out my adventure of getting 500 kills of every primary weapon in the game. Now I can finally use the easiest weapons in the game full-time. Only the regular XBOW/Pistols/Rocket Launchers/Explosives left.
I agree with the above 2 posters as well, there were a lot of things promised but never delivered, too many bugs that are critical that needs to be fixed ASAP but they never do (most annoying one has to be the odd glitch where you can't zoom and can only hipfire, which especially sucks for me since I always use the suppressor), and Origin being awful.
Do we really need more bikes in End Game? I would prefer a game mode such as Assault Lines in BF2142, the AMTRAC could serve as the Goliath, and the bikes could serve as the Hachimotos.

TLDR: EA has the worst PR managers in the game industry. They just dont realize that its better to promise half and deliver double than promise double and deliver half. Its not only BF3, EA has a long history o being a company that doesnt respect their customers.
EDIT: gratz Phelix on the mastery achievement, that reminds me that i sill have some weapons to unlock xD

The amount of entitlement in that article is just too much.. Don't like it, don't play it.
You can basically reverse an argument of absolutes like that really easily. Why exactly should paying customers put up with false marketing, broken promises, withdrawn key features, bad/nonexistant support and service and a sharp decline in product quality overall.
We are, I believe, allowed to bitch and moan however we like. In this situation and many others it's more than justified.

I know what you mean, i have read many threads on mordor and most of the time i felt like im in a bar full of divorced men bitching about their ex wife. Wich felt akward because i kinda feel empathetic towards them but on the other hand im also the guy who now fucks the ex wife. Anyway even if i like some of the changes DICE made that the BFvets hate they still have every right to be pissed at the false advertising and outright lying that has taken place. One example thats on my mind right now are the new weapons that have been promised with the new DLCs back in june when they were advertising premium memberships but two months after EA just edited the new weapons part out of the ads and tried to lie about how they never promised new weapons. I mean this is not just bitching about a game you dont like anymore its bitching about having paid money for something in advance and then not getting it.
Honestly, BF3 is still the best shooter I've ever played, bar none.
It's a damn shame it's made by EA, and it has certainly suffered from their... business practices.... but I'll keep playing it because DICE still make outstanding games underneath it all. They've done a really good job with the gun balance, and even the infantry/vehicle tension is quite well handled.
My stats are certainly suffering as a poor footslogger, though. What's a reasonable kdr/spm for an infantry dude in vehicle-heavy conquest, anyway?
My biggest gripes right now: - respawning, reviving, immortal medic squads - tanks and choppers when my whole team is ignoring them - bulk snipers on my team - the ACR-W. I have no idea why, but whenever someone shoots me with it I just melt. It's not broken, it just hates me.
I agree that the UI and origin are both absolutely despicable. I'd like to see some things from the past games return, like squad-leader spawn only as default. The commander would be nice, too, although I rather suspect it would be perpetually filled by 12-year-olds anyway.
All the stat metrics aren't ones you should be particularly worried about the majority of the time. As long as you can feel progress and improvement in different aspects of your play, something you're doing is right. If you're not familiar with the BF series or FPS in general then any time you can maintain a positive kdr is a mark for doing decent. Think of all the people who consistently fail to do so.
If you want to gauge SPM, then you have to think in terms of the maps, the game modes and amount of players on the servers. Things like TDM and CQL on dumb cramped maps will naturally net you upwards 8-900 SPM if you're pretty good and care about the number.
Another thing will be that if you have premium(unlike peasant like me), double XP events will skyrocket your SPM to numbers you're unlikely to be able to replicate during regular time. This overall just decreased the value of gauging whether a player is useful or not to the team, which was what it originally helped with.
Myself, I kinda reached my plateau at ~666 SPM playing nothing but CQL on Firestorm, Caspian and similar maps. Take that for what you want.

Oh, SPM isn't corrected for the premium bonus? That's really dumb, gj DICE. I wondered why a couple of my friends were at like 1.5x my SPM while sucking their way to the bank.
I'm not a total newbie but I've never considered FPS to be my main genre. I think I just feel like I'm finally getting the hang of this game, but the stats don't seem to be following. SPM is like 370 and kdr is ~1.5.
Even considering I rarely touch vehicles except to get around and never get revived because 90% of pubs don't know what defibs are, that still seems pretty average when I'm pushing the MVP slots nearly every match.
Also, man, Australia? News flash: there are maps out there that aren't Firestorm and Metro. Holy heck, something in the middle would be nice.
