Yea there's still quite a few active servers, especially for the popular maps.

Hehe... On a more serious note, anyone have any useful tips to contribute for defenders in part 4 of Metro? I'm completely baffled at how imbalanced that part is. As someone on here mentioned earlier, the attackers have quicker access to high ground, defenders spawn in open, and the objectives are almost always an instant win once they've been activated.
Only once did I play a round where I met heavy resistance at the exits when I was on attack team, and I was getting a lot of easy kills because there are very limited spots in which to camp those points.
I think this part is intended to be unbalanced. The defending team has 3 chances to stop the offense before you get to this point, so if you're pushed all the way back to part 4 you're pretty much boned.
My approach is to break across the street and work up a stairwell to gain access to one of the buildings. If you can get in one of the buildings and up the stairs, you have a shot at holding out. You'll have a direct view of the bombsite by the bus, and you can pin down people trying to come out of their spawn. If you can't get across the street, or you get across but lose control of the buildings, you've probably lost.

Like above said, defenders have a massive advantage on the 1st and 3rd stages (2nd stage is even imo) so I can deal with the 4th being unbalanced
What i've been doing is launching rockets onto the facade of the buildings so if anyone goes there they have no cover and are completely exposed.
There isn't any specific way to win this that I have found (its annoying when you keep getting into servers on RU side and on this stage ...) only ways to make it easier to kill people and hope you kill enough

So apparently you can turn off flashlight and laser with the "t" button 0.o Not sure if it was posted already ive played for like 18hours and accidentally figured it out....
this makes the flash light+ Show Spoiler +Still useless and way to bright...

Flashlight is not useless or to bright, just team flashing is stupid and th range. It works as a semi flashbang up close, and is true to it's nature as a tactical blinding flashlight.
Lower the range, remove team blinding and add it to the HUD = Good flashlight

The tactical light blinds me because i use IR scopes it just turns the screen white so it's pretty gg to me.

That is what stupid about the design, if enemy managed to pushed to stage 4, it means they have the ability to assault another defender's advantage position. So why not make it another challenge instead of turning into a total rape. Don't say because it's imba to the attackers, because both team get to play both side, it should be challenging for the attackers from start to finish, might as well not add the last stage.
Just imagine what everyone's mindset at the end of game. Challenging for the attackers from start to finish Attacker won: Enemy put up a good fight the whole round, very satisfying win. Defender lost: We did our best, although we didn't win but it was gg!
Stupid stage 4 defender position makes it auto lose Attacker won: We totally rape them with no sweat at the end, LOL! Defender lost: We managed to defend pretty well, but they over run us at the end in no time, stupid map.

I'm fairly certain it's too bright when it's just as bright outside as it is inside, it's going to be useless in most situations in a random non premade squads(since in most cases it does more harm than good tks, blind, etc) I for one just shoot whenever I see a flash light and 8 times out of ten ill out gun the person since it's a light source isn't the same as getting flashed u can see where the center is vs flash bangs in most games turn your whole screen white, I just feel all these attachments don't have a place In the battlefield series since I'm hopping most of the combat will take place out doors like the original, caspian demonstrated this well.+ Show Spoiler +I guess I'm not a big fan of changes that are taking place especially the whole unlocks and the focus on getting kills

You should be able to skip the screen that shows the person who just killed you so you can deploy again. That really annoys me after awhile T_T

Hey did anyone figure out where are the settings stored? I want to turn off Shadows cuz my comp can't really handle it.
Can't find the files tho.

Yeah that final stage is so dumb. the B bombsite, being covered from the buildings that the attackers get to, and unable to be properly covered from the defender spawn is like :S.
The only way to win there as defenders is to get a foothold in one of the center buildings, get a bunch of mobile spawns in there and hope you can get people in to defuse while holding them

very disappointed with bf3 tbh, thoroughly underwhelming. a little too much cod-esque crap thrown in there. was so pumped for this game, and now i think il give it a miss. aaah well, guess more time to spend in skyrim.

How do you burn people with the robot? I can only arm bombs ):.
